Jets | Teddy Bridgewater should throw this spring |
Mon, 16 Apr 2018 04:34:16 -0700
New York Jets coach Todd Bowles believes QB Teddy Bridgewater should throw at some point this spring, but it is hard to tell how much he will take part in offseason workouts.
Fantasy Tip: Until Bridgewater plays with more regularity, it's hard to gauge what fantasy value he has. Right now he's a "handcuff" option to Josh McCown, but the NFL Draft could change things.

Jets | Teddy Bridgewater set to join NY Jets |
Tue, 13 Mar 2018 17:14:08 -0700
New York Jets impending free-agent QB Teddy Bridgewater agreed to terms on an undisclosed one-year contract with the New York Jets on Tuesday, March 13, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Fantasy Tip: It was reported last week that New York's "Plan B" at quarterback was to sign Josh McCown to serve as the bridge quarterback in 2018 in hopes he could hand the team over to Bridgewater and/or a rookie quarterback in 2019. It remains to be seen what Bridgewater can do after being away from the game for the better part of two seasons, but this figures to be a low-risk, high-reward move for the Jets. If Bridgewater can assume the starting job at some point in 2018, he'll be on the fantasy QB2 radar.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater has options |
Tue, 13 Mar 2018 16:32:48 -0700
Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent QB Teddy Bridgewater has a few options available in free agency and is not close to any deal, according to sources.
Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater was reportedly talking with the Jets, but things may change with Josh McCown returning to New York. Bridgewater has been successful as a starter in the past and probably will be looking for a short-term deal in free agency. He should be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he finds a starting job.

Jets | Teddy Bridgewater could land with Jets soon |
Tue, 13 Mar 2018 12:09:43 -0700
Free-agent QB Teddy Bridgewater (Vikings) is working on a deal with the New York Jets, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: The Jets don't have many options left when it comes to free-agent quarterbacks. Bridgewater is coming off a significant knee injury and doesn't have the most reliable receiving corps. He'll be a backup fantasy quarterback if he does sign with New York.

Jets | NYJ turning attention to Teddy Bridgewater? |
Tue, 13 Mar 2018 09:53:06 -0700
The New York Jets are expected to turn their attention to Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent QB Teddy Bridgewater should they not be able to land Washington Redskins impending free-agent QB Kirk Cousins, according to sources.
Fantasy Tip: A similar report surfaced last week and suggested Bridgewater and Josh McCown would be brought back as a pair in order to give the Jets a bridge quarterback (McCown) and his eventual successor (Bridgewater). It would be a relatively low-risk, high-reward approach and a plan worth executing, especially now as it appears the Jets will not land Cousins or Case Keenum.

Jets | Teddy Bridgewater a Plan B option for NYJ? |
Mon, 05 Mar 2018 19:12:13 -0800
Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent QB Teddy Bridgewater may be the New York Jets' fallback option if Washington Redskins impending free-agent QB Kirk Cousins opts not to sign with the Jets in free agency, according to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano, who speculates New York would also attempt to bring back Josh McCown to protect themselves against another injury to Bridgewater.
Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater's star has fallen since he suffered his devastating knee injury in the summer of 2016, but he has long been lauded for his ability to play the game with his mind. The Jets would probably be best off by taking one of the draft's top quarterbacks, but they reportedly haven't been blown away by any of them as of yet. Adding Bridgewater may be a way for the team to get a high-upside quarterback on the cheap and allow the Jets to address more of their many needs.

Jets | Teddy Bridgewater could be option for Jets |
Mon, 05 Mar 2018 09:05:23 -0800
Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent QB Teddy Bridgewater could receive interest from the New York Jets this offseason if the Jets are not able to sign Washington Redskins impending free-agent QB Kirk Cousins, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater is coming back from a serious knee injury but should have the chance to find a starting job this offseason. He probably can be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in most leagues in 2018.

Vikings | Some teams see Teddy Bridgewater as starter |
Sun, 04 Mar 2018 08:22:32 -0800
Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent QB Teddy Bridgewater is receiving interest from some teams that consider him a potential starting quarterback.
Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater has seen playing time in only one game over the last two seasons because of a major knee injury but posted decent numbers in his first two years in the league. He has a solid chance to find a starting job this offseason but would only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Vikings | GM expects Teddy Bridgewater to be UFA |
Wed, 28 Feb 2018 16:32:55 -0800
Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said he expects QB Teddy Bridgewater to be declared an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater has been able to return from a major knee injury but did not see a lot of playing time in 2017. It is not known if he will be able to find a starting job in free agency, but he probably would only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts for a team in 2018.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater FA status unclear |
Thu, 01 Feb 2018 22:47:05 -0800
Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater could have his contract tolled, which would put him back under contract with the Vikings for 2018 at his salary rate ($1.354 million) from the past season as opposed to entering unrestricted free agency. The issue stems from Bridgewater spending the first six weeks of this past season on the PUP list and whether or not he was medically cleared at any point before those six weeks elapsed. GM Rick Spielman indicated the decision to have the contract tolled would come from the NFL and the NFLPA, and not from the Vikings.
Fantasy Tip: Got all that? It's an obscure rule, but it could at least potentially take Bridgewater off the market, though the speculation is the NFLPA would file a grievance if the NFL tried to toll his contract. At this point it's just wait and see for Bridgewater, who figures to draw some interest on the open market.

Vikings | Mike Zimmer not sold on Case Keenum? |
Tue, 23 Jan 2018 12:19:54 -0800
Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent QB Case Keenum's future with the Vikings is in limbo. Head coach Mike Zimmer said the Vikings will go through the process of determining who their starting quarterback will be next season. Keenum and fellow QBs Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Bradford are all in the running.
Fantasy Tip: Keenum deserves to be the top candidate to start in 2018 after his coming out party that led the Vikings to the NFC Championship. Minnesota does have three gunslingers with starter caliber, but none of them are reliable week-to-week starting fantasy quarterbacks.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater believes he can start |
Mon, 22 Jan 2018 09:29:09 -0800
Minnesota Vikings impending free-agent QB Teddy Bridgewater said he views himself as a starting quarterback next season but is not sure if it will be with the Vikings.
Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater is one of three Vikings quarterbacks that will be free agents this offseason, so he could hit the free-agent market this offseason. He should have a decent chance to find a starting job if he decides to sign with another team. Bridgewater can be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback next season if he finds a starting job.

Vikings | Minnesota tempted to start Teddy Bridgewater |
Wed, 15 Nov 2017 11:38:24 -0800
Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater was reportedly very close to overtaking Case Keenum for the starting job in large part because the Vikings view Bridgewater as "their franchise," according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer.
Fantasy Tip: What it means is that Keenum will be on the shortest of leashes despite throwing for four touchdowns in Week 10. The Vikings need to be able to make a decision on him as he can become a free agent after the season. Minnesota knows Keenum is a placeholder at best; what the team needs to find out is if Bridgewater is more than what he showed in a limited offense built around Adrian Peterson in 2014 and 2015. He's worth stashing in all fantasy leagues.

Vikings | Case Keenum will remain starter |
Mon, 13 Nov 2017 13:20:17 -0800
Minnesota Vikings QB Case Keenum will continue to start despite QB Teddy Bridgewater being available to return.
Fantasy Tip: It would have been difficult to bench Keenum for Bridgewater given the circumstances. The Vikings are rolling on offense, Keenum is playing well and they're riding a five-game winning streak. Why mess up the momentum? Even so, Keenum can't be trusted as QB1 this week in a tough matchup with the Los Angeles Rams.

Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) is throwing the ball better than he was before his knee injury, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Wed, 08 Nov 2017 13:42:06 -0800
Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 8.
Fantasy Tip: Bridgewater looks good to go, at least physically. The timing of his return works out perfectly with Sam Bradford going on IR. It's unclear exactly when Bridgewater will start again, though. Be prepared for Case Keenum to start at least one more week. Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater appears close to returning |
Sun, 29 Oct 2017 07:32:51 -0700
Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) could resume playing as soon as Week 10 versus the Washington Redskins, according to a source informed of the situation. It is believed that he could be activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list after the team's Week 9 bye and could compete with QB Case Keenum for the starting job.
Fantasy Tip: The 24-year-old Bridgewater has been sidelined since the 2016 preseason due to a significant left knee injury suffered on a non-contact play. Even if he does regain the starting quarterback job, fantasy owners should avoid using Bridgewater in his first few weeks back so that he can prove he is both healthy and effective.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater likely to miss London game |
Tue, 24 Oct 2017 07:37:22 -0700
Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) will likely be left off the active roster for the team's London game in Week 8. The team is concerned that the field will be slippery and could expose Bridgewater to further injury.
Fantasy Tip: Even if Bridgewater is activated, the question is will he play? Bridgewater may be a good flyer in long-term dynasty leagues, but unless Case Keenum gets hurt or has a bad outing Bridgewater may not see the light of day on a football field.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater has great first practice |
Wed, 18 Oct 2017 18:10:32 -0700
Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) returned to practice Wednesday, Oct. 18, following a 14-month absence, and received rave reviews, with TE Kyle Rudolph even comparing him to retired QB Joe Montana. However, head coach Mike Zimmer said that Bridgewater "probably" won't play this week.
Fantasy Tip: It's awesome to see Bridgewater back on the field after sustaining a career-threatening injury last summer. It's even better that he apparently picked up where he left off after having what was reportedly a very good practice. While this is a great start for the 24-year-old, owners shouldn't start considering him as a serious fantasy option for at least several more weeks.

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 11:40:00 -0700
Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) will be taken off the Physically Unable to Perform list and should practice Wednesday, Oct. 18.
Fantasy Tip: It's been a long time coming for Bridgewater to return to practice. Case Keenum has filled in splendidly for the most part with both Bridgewater and Sam Bradford out of commission. The Vikings may have a three-way competition at the position on their hands once Bradford and Bridgewater are ready to go. None of them should be considered weekly QB1 options, however.

Vikings | Teddy Bridgewater making progress |
Tue, 29 Aug 2017 16:50:34 -0700

Zimmer added that Bridgewater must protect himself and show that he is able to make the necessary movements in order to succeed as a quarterback before returning to practice.
Fantasy Tip: The long wait for the return of Theodore Bridgewater continues. In the meantime, Sam Bradford will continue to start as one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the league. There will be weeks when Bradford deserves to start on fantasy squads, but as far as the whole seasons is concerned he is a QB2.
