Jets | Khiry Robinson limited Monday

Mon, 22 Aug 2016 16:50:31 -0700

New York Jets RB Khiry Robinson (leg) participated in team drills on a limited basis Monday, Aug. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson should be fine for the start of the regular season, although he'll be playing behind Matt Forte and Bilal Powell. He could vulture some touchdowns away from his counterparts, but Robinson is really only worth a late-round flier in standard leagues as long as Forte and Powell are healthy.

Jets | Khiry Robinson still limited

Sun, 14 Aug 2016 18:39:23 -0700

New York Jets RB Khiry Robinson (leg) remained a limited participant in practice Sunday, Aug. 14, sitting out team drills.

Fantasy Tip: If Robinson is going to have fantasy value this year, he will need Matt Forte or Bilal Powell to miss time during the regular season.

Jets | Khiry Robinson may see more practice reps

Sat, 13 Aug 2016 06:42:22 -0700

New York Jets RB Khiry Robinson (leg) may be a full participant in practice this week after he was limited during practice last week.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson may have a chance for the No. 3 running back job if he plays well during the preseason. He probably will see limited playing time if he makes the team and probably can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

Jets | Khiry Robinson activated from PUP list

Mon, 08 Aug 2016 11:07:46 -0700

New York Jets RB Khiry Robinson (leg) was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list Monday, Aug. 8. Robinson was placed on the PUP list in late July after suffering a broken leg late last season.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson should back up both Matt Forte and Bilal Powell in New York's backfield. He'll more than likely spot Forte in short-yardage situations and could even vulture away some touchdowns. At this point, though, Robinson is no more than a late-round flier in standard leagues.

Jets | Khiry Robinson to PUP

Wed, 27 Jul 2016 09:40:44 -0700

New York Jets RB Khiry Robinson (leg) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Wednesday, July 27.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is working his way back from a broken leg, but he could be in position to take looks at the goal line. The team doesn't think he has reached his full potential, but they did sign Bernard Pierce for depth today. Robinson is one to watch in camp, but his value may be restricted to TD-only leagues.

Jets | Lots of rest for Matt Forte

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 13:42:46 -0700

New York Jets RB Matt Forte should receive plenty of rest this season with RBs Bilal Powell and Khiry Robinson also in the mix.

Fantasy Tip: It's to be expected that a running back at Forte's age and with Forte's workload wouldn't be a bellcow anymore. He's still the Jets' top option at the position, though, and should be viewed as a high-end RB2.

Jets | Two Jets RBs to compete for No. 3 job

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 13:07:22 -0700

New York Jets RBs Zac Stacy (leg) and Khiry Robinson (leg) will compete for the No. 3 running back job during training camp, but Robinson may have an edge because the team does not believe he has reached his full potential yet.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye on the preseason to see if Stacy or Robinson will win the job. Whoever wins the competition likely will receive limited playing time during the season and should not be a fantasy option.

Jets | Khiry Robinson set for goal-line role?

Tue, 19 Jul 2016 10:29:09 -0700

New York Jets RB Khiry Robinson (leg) could be utilized as a short-yardage and goal-line back this season.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is firmly behind Matt Forte and Bilal Powell in the pecking order for touches, and Robinson also needs to prove his health in training camp. Still, winning the goal-line duties would make Robinson a late-round flier in standard leagues and a viable option in touchdown-heavy formats.

Jets | New York backs should be ready for camp

Sat, 04 Jun 2016 11:38:30 -0700

New York Jets RBs Zac Stacy (ankle) and Khiry Robinson (leg) are both expected to be ready for training camp. Stacy suffered a broken ankle late last season, while Robinson broke his leg late in the year.

Fantasy Tip: Both Stacy and Robinson will probably play complementary roles behind Matt Forte and Bilal Powell. If healthy, they'll vulture some yardage and a touchdown here and there, but they aren't viable fantasy running backs in that situation.

Jets | One-year deal for Khiry Robinson

Thu, 10 Mar 2016 17:05:12 -0800

Updating a previous report, New York Jets RB Khiry Robinson's deal is one year in length and worth $1.18 million, including $80,000 guaranteed.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson will likely be the third running back in New York's backfield echelon behind Matt Forte and Bilal Powell. He'll play sparingly if Forte and Powell can stay healthy, but he's still worth a late-round draft pick.

Jets | Khiry Robinson joining Jets

Thu, 10 Mar 2016 09:54:59 -0800

Free-agent RB Khiry Robinson (Saints) is signing with the New York Jets, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson will likely battle Bilal Powell for touches alongside Matt Forte. He'll be an RB4 consideration depending on where he falls in the pecking order.

Saints | Khiry Robinson set to hit open market

Fri, 04 Mar 2016 15:07:23 -0800

New Orleans Saints impending restricted free-agent RB Khiry Robinson is not expected to receive a contract offer from the Saints, according to a source. That will allow Robinson to hit the open market after compiling 766 yards and eight touchdowns in the last three seasons.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson had 56 carries for 180 yards and four touchdowns and added 17 catches for 115 yards for the Saints in 2015, but he suffered a fractured leg in November. It remains to be seen what his fantasy value will be in 2016, but he could be worth a look as an RB4 or flex player in a third-down pass-catching role with a new team.

Saints | Won't use franchise tag

Tue, 16 Feb 2016 09:53:44 -0800

The New Orleans Saints will not use their franchise tag this year. They don't have any premiere free agents that will require large deals. TE Benjamin Watson, RB Tim Hightower and S Rafael Bush may be priorities to re-sign. New Orleans may end up spending more to keep restricted free-agent RB Khiry Robinson and OG Tim Lelito.

Saints | Khiry Robinson making progress

Sun, 14 Feb 2016 19:21:06 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (leg) was catching footballs while standing on one leg as part of the next step in his rehab from a broken leg he suffered last season.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is part of a deep rotation at running back for New Orleans, and even if he is 100% healthy when the 2016 season rolls around, he likely won't have a steady enough role to be fantasy relevant.

Saints | Khiry Robinson jogging

Wed, 03 Feb 2016 15:32:19 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (leg) has been cleared for jogging. Robinson is recovering from a broken leg he suffered late last season.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson will have to contend with Tim Hightower and C.J. Spiller, if Spiller even returns, for backup repetitions next season. Robinson isn't worth drafting at this point.

Saints | Khiry Robinson out for the year

Mon, 02 Nov 2015 11:34:55 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (leg) had surgery on his broken leg and will miss the remainder of the season, according to head coach Sean Payton.

Fantasy Tip: Mark Ingram and C.J. Spiller should continue to carry the load in the Saints' backfield. Ingram could see more short-yardage and goal-line carries with Robinson out, too. Marcus Murphy could also see more touches and is worth a look in deeper leagues if there is a need at running back.

Saints | Khiry Robinson has serious injury

Sun, 01 Nov 2015 19:10:59 -0800

Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (leg) suffered what appeared to be a serious lower right leg injury in the Week 8 game against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) wasn't getting a lot of touches anyway, but hopefully he'll have as quick of a recovery as possible after it looked like he snapped a fibula.

Saints | Khiry Robinson carted off

Sun, 01 Nov 2015 11:38:32 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (leg) was carted off the field after suffering a leg injury during the team's Week 8 game. Robinson's leg was placed in an air cast before he was carted off.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson probably will miss significant time since he was placed in a cast, but owners should look for an update. C.J. Spiller could receive a bigger role in offense with Robinson out and could be a flex option in some leagues.

Saints | Khiry Robinson scores twice

Sun, 25 Oct 2015 19:33:59 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson had 14 rushes for 28 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 7 win over the Indianapolis Colts. He also added a catch for three yards.

Fantasy Tip: It was the most work that Robinson had seen all year and likely had to do with the Saints being up big in the first half. Robinson is a goal-line option for the Saints, which makes him fantasy-relevant in deeper leagues, but with his value relying mainly on touchdowns, he's at best a deeper sleeper in a flex spot on FantasyScore on a weekly basis.

Saints | Khiry Robinson gets into end zone

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 22:33:06 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson carried six times for 16 yards and a touchdown in the Week 4 game against the Dallas Cowboys and he had two grabs for five yards on four targets.

Fantasy Tip: The touchdown was nice, but Robinson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) needs more touches and yardage to warrant using in FantasyScore.

Saints | New Orleans run game lacking

Wed, 23 Sep 2015 10:41:29 -0700

The New Orleans Saints running game is talented with RBs Mark Ingram, C.J. Spiller and Khiry Robinson, but they currently rank in the bottom fourth of the league in rushing yards per game (79) and yards per carry (3.36).

Fantasy Tip: Things won't get any easier for the running game if Drew Brees has to sit out this weekend against the Carolina Panthers, who have a stiff defensive front against the run. Even if Brees does play it could be tough sledding for the Saints ground game.

Comment (0) | Share: Tweet!Share on Facebook | Source: ESPN.com - Mike Triplett

Saints | Khiry Robinson involved

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 14:35:05 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson was frequently involved in the Saints' passing game in Week 1, snatching five catches for 51 yards on six targets.

Fantasy Tip: The Saints were forced to throw the ball early and often as the Cardinals built a lead. History shows that Brees likes throwing to his running backs, though. Mark Ingram and Robinson had the most catches on the Saints for the opening week. Of course, Robinson probably won't have as big of a role when C.J. Spiller returns, so don't get your hopes too high.

Saints | More touches for Khiry Robinson?

Tue, 08 Sep 2015 18:49:29 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson could see a larger than expected role in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals with RB C.J. Spiller (knee) not expected to play.

Fantasy Tip: Spiller ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) is recovering from minor knee surgery, so Mark Ingram ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) will shoulder the load with Robinson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) likely to serve as the primary backup. In FantasyScore he could be a nice value at this low price level.

Saints | Khiry Robinson ready for Week 1?

Fri, 28 Aug 2015 20:42:16 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (undisclosed) is dealing with a minor injury that shouldn't impact his status for the regular season, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is going to enter the season as a backup, but he is sharing a backfield with injury-prone backs Mark Ingram and C.J. Spiller, so he is worth grabbing later in drafts in case he finds himself with a big role at some point.

Saints | Khiry Robinson out again

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 10:50:17 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (undisclosed) is out of practice Thursday, Aug. 27, with an undisclosed ailment.

Fantasy Tip: K-Rob is questionable to be worthy of drafting as a backup. He's on the fringe of an RB5 grab.

Saints | Khiry Robinson listed as primary backup

Mon, 10 Aug 2015 20:44:24 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson is listed as the primary backup tailback behind RB Mark Ingram, and ahead of RB C.J. Spiller, on the first depth chart heading into the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 13, against the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson will be a useful fantasy option this season if he can maintain his status as the primary backup to Ingram. And let's face it, he isn't behind the most durable guy, either, so he could face plenty of starts.

Saints | Khiry Robinson ready for opportunity

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 15:09:04 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson is ready to take what he can get after an arm injury cut his 2014 campaign short. "I'm the type of person, I'm gonna get what I get and do what I do with it," Robinson said. "So whether it's 20 carries or one carry, I'm gonna [perform to] the best of my ability every play." Robinson is remaining confident after the Saints spent big money to re-sign RB Mark Ingram and acquire RB C.J. Spiller.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson will indubitably be the third wheel in the Saints' backfield this year. His value will increase tremendously if Ingram suffers a long-term injury, but for now he should not be drafted as more than a handcuff for Ingram.

Saints | Three RBs on Saints' roster

Wed, 04 Mar 2015 16:29:11 -0800

Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Pierre Thomas' (Saints) release by the New Orleans Saints Wednesday, March 4, will save $1.735 million against the salary cap, and he carries an $830,000 "dead money" charge. Thomas would have counted $2.565 million against the salary cap this year. The Saints currently have three running backs on roster: RBs Khiry Robinson, Edwin Baker and Tim Hightower. RBs Travaris Cadet and Mark Ingram are both scheduled to be free agents.

Fantasy Tip: The release of PT cruiser isn't unexpected, since his role had quickly diminished over the last couple of seasons. If Ingram isn't re-signed, Robinson will have a clear path to the lead-back duties in New Orleans. And in an offense as potent as this, that'll make him very intriguing to fantasy football owners. Robinson could head into 2015 as a low-end RB1.

Saints | Khiry Robinson missed opportunity

Tue, 13 Jan 2015 07:17:32 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson was slated to have his role increased before he suffered a fractured forearm midseason.

Fantasy Tip: With Mark Ingram an unrestricted free agent, Robinson and Pierre Thomas could enter 2015 in a platoon. Both would be RB3 targets in traditional drafts, but Robinson could sneak into the RB2 range due to his youth and potential for a featured role.

Saints | Khiry Robinson probable for Week 14

Fri, 05 Dec 2014 14:28:21 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 5, and is listed as probable for Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is expected to play after missing several weeks because of his forearm injury. Robinson could be eased back into the offense and receive limited snaps this week. Robinson has a price of $3,000 on FantasyScore but should be avoided by owners this week.

Saints | New Orleans RBs practice

Thu, 04 Dec 2014 15:07:18 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (ankle, toe) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 4. RBs Khiry Robinson (forearm) and Travaris Cadet (hamstring) participated fully.

Fantasy Tip: Ingram ($6,800, 13.6%) should still get the majority of work out of the backfield with Pierre Thomas ($5,500, 11%) and Cadet likely being used mostly on passing downs. Robinson's usage may be limited after his prolonged absence, so it's best to stay away from him this week. Ingram and Thomas are the best bets for success against a subpar Carolina Panthers run defense.

Saints | Khiry Robinson does some work

Wed, 03 Dec 2014 14:35:35 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is expected to play, and will likely be eased back into the lineup in Week 14. Robinson is a bit of a risky play with Mark Ingram playing so well in front of him. He should be avoided in FantasyScore for the time being.
