Saints | Khiry Robinson jogging

Wed, 03 Feb 2016 15:32:19 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (leg) has been cleared for jogging. Robinson is recovering from a broken leg he suffered late last season.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson will have to contend with Tim Hightower and C.J. Spiller, if Spiller even returns, for backup repetitions next season. Robinson isn't worth drafting at this point.

Saints | Khiry Robinson out for the year

Mon, 02 Nov 2015 11:34:55 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (leg) had surgery on his broken leg and will miss the remainder of the season, according to head coach Sean Payton.

Fantasy Tip: Mark Ingram and C.J. Spiller should continue to carry the load in the Saints' backfield. Ingram could see more short-yardage and goal-line carries with Robinson out, too. Marcus Murphy could also see more touches and is worth a look in deeper leagues if there is a need at running back.

Saints | Khiry Robinson has serious injury

Sun, 01 Nov 2015 19:10:59 -0800

Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (leg) suffered what appeared to be a serious lower right leg injury in the Week 8 game against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) wasn't getting a lot of touches anyway, but hopefully he'll have as quick of a recovery as possible after it looked like he snapped a fibula.

Saints | Khiry Robinson carted off

Sun, 01 Nov 2015 11:38:32 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (leg) was carted off the field after suffering a leg injury during the team's Week 8 game. Robinson's leg was placed in an air cast before he was carted off.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson probably will miss significant time since he was placed in a cast, but owners should look for an update. C.J. Spiller could receive a bigger role in offense with Robinson out and could be a flex option in some leagues.

Saints | Khiry Robinson scores twice

Sun, 25 Oct 2015 19:33:59 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson had 14 rushes for 28 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 7 win over the Indianapolis Colts. He also added a catch for three yards.

Fantasy Tip: It was the most work that Robinson had seen all year and likely had to do with the Saints being up big in the first half. Robinson is a goal-line option for the Saints, which makes him fantasy-relevant in deeper leagues, but with his value relying mainly on touchdowns, he's at best a deeper sleeper in a flex spot on FantasyScore on a weekly basis.

Saints | Khiry Robinson gets into end zone

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 22:33:06 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson carried six times for 16 yards and a touchdown in the Week 4 game against the Dallas Cowboys and he had two grabs for five yards on four targets.

Fantasy Tip: The touchdown was nice, but Robinson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) needs more touches and yardage to warrant using in FantasyScore.

Saints | New Orleans run game lacking

Wed, 23 Sep 2015 10:41:29 -0700

The New Orleans Saints running game is talented with RBs Mark Ingram, C.J. Spiller and Khiry Robinson, but they currently rank in the bottom fourth of the league in rushing yards per game (79) and yards per carry (3.36).

Fantasy Tip: Things won't get any easier for the running game if Drew Brees has to sit out this weekend against the Carolina Panthers, who have a stiff defensive front against the run. Even if Brees does play it could be tough sledding for the Saints ground game.

Saints | Khiry Robinson involved

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 14:35:05 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson was frequently involved in the Saints' passing game in Week 1, snatching five catches for 51 yards on six targets.

Fantasy Tip: The Saints were forced to throw the ball early and often as the Cardinals built a lead. History shows that Brees likes throwing to his running backs, though. Mark Ingram and Robinson had the most catches on the Saints for the opening week. Of course, Robinson probably won't have as big of a role when C.J. Spiller returns, so don't get your hopes too high.

Saints | More touches for Khiry Robinson?

Tue, 08 Sep 2015 18:49:29 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson could see a larger than expected role in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals with RB C.J. Spiller (knee) not expected to play.

Fantasy Tip: Spiller ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) is recovering from minor knee surgery, so Mark Ingram ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) will shoulder the load with Robinson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) likely to serve as the primary backup. In FantasyScore he could be a nice value at this low price level.

Saints | Khiry Robinson ready for Week 1?

Fri, 28 Aug 2015 20:42:16 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (undisclosed) is dealing with a minor injury that shouldn't impact his status for the regular season, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is going to enter the season as a backup, but he is sharing a backfield with injury-prone backs Mark Ingram and C.J. Spiller, so he is worth grabbing later in drafts in case he finds himself with a big role at some point.

Saints | Khiry Robinson out again

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 10:50:17 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (undisclosed) is out of practice Thursday, Aug. 27, with an undisclosed ailment.

Fantasy Tip: K-Rob is questionable to be worthy of drafting as a backup. He's on the fringe of an RB5 grab.

Saints | Khiry Robinson listed as primary backup

Mon, 10 Aug 2015 20:44:24 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson is listed as the primary backup tailback behind RB Mark Ingram, and ahead of RB C.J. Spiller, on the first depth chart heading into the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 13, against the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson will be a useful fantasy option this season if he can maintain his status as the primary backup to Ingram. And let's face it, he isn't behind the most durable guy, either, so he could face plenty of starts.

Saints | Khiry Robinson ready for opportunity

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 15:09:04 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson is ready to take what he can get after an arm injury cut his 2014 campaign short. "I'm the type of person, I'm gonna get what I get and do what I do with it," Robinson said. "So whether it's 20 carries or one carry, I'm gonna [perform to] the best of my ability every play." Robinson is remaining confident after the Saints spent big money to re-sign RB Mark Ingram and acquire RB C.J. Spiller.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson will indubitably be the third wheel in the Saints' backfield this year. His value will increase tremendously if Ingram suffers a long-term injury, but for now he should not be drafted as more than a handcuff for Ingram.

Saints | Three RBs on Saints' roster

Wed, 04 Mar 2015 16:29:11 -0800

Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Pierre Thomas' (Saints) release by the New Orleans Saints Wednesday, March 4, will save $1.735 million against the salary cap, and he carries an $830,000 "dead money" charge. Thomas would have counted $2.565 million against the salary cap this year. The Saints currently have three running backs on roster: RBs Khiry Robinson, Edwin Baker and Tim Hightower. RBs Travaris Cadet and Mark Ingram are both scheduled to be free agents.

Fantasy Tip: The release of PT cruiser isn't unexpected, since his role had quickly diminished over the last couple of seasons. If Ingram isn't re-signed, Robinson will have a clear path to the lead-back duties in New Orleans. And in an offense as potent as this, that'll make him very intriguing to fantasy football owners. Robinson could head into 2015 as a low-end RB1.

Saints | Khiry Robinson missed opportunity

Tue, 13 Jan 2015 07:17:32 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson was slated to have his role increased before he suffered a fractured forearm midseason.

Fantasy Tip: With Mark Ingram an unrestricted free agent, Robinson and Pierre Thomas could enter 2015 in a platoon. Both would be RB3 targets in traditional drafts, but Robinson could sneak into the RB2 range due to his youth and potential for a featured role.

Saints | Khiry Robinson probable for Week 14

Fri, 05 Dec 2014 14:28:21 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 5, and is listed as probable for Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is expected to play after missing several weeks because of his forearm injury. Robinson could be eased back into the offense and receive limited snaps this week. Robinson has a price of $3,000 on FantasyScore but should be avoided by owners this week.

Saints | New Orleans RBs practice

Thu, 04 Dec 2014 15:07:18 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (ankle, toe) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 4. RBs Khiry Robinson (forearm) and Travaris Cadet (hamstring) participated fully.

Fantasy Tip: Ingram ($6,800, 13.6%) should still get the majority of work out of the backfield with Pierre Thomas ($5,500, 11%) and Cadet likely being used mostly on passing downs. Robinson's usage may be limited after his prolonged absence, so it's best to stay away from him this week. Ingram and Thomas are the best bets for success against a subpar Carolina Panthers run defense.

Saints | Khiry Robinson does some work

Wed, 03 Dec 2014 14:35:35 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is expected to play, and will likely be eased back into the lineup in Week 14. Robinson is a bit of a risky play with Mark Ingram playing so well in front of him. He should be avoided in FantasyScore for the time being.

Saints | Khiry Robinson to be eased back in

Mon, 01 Dec 2014 14:51:17 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm), who is expected to return in Week 14 against the Carolina Panthers, is expected to be eased back into the backfield, especially since RB Mark Ingram has done well in a leading role. RB Pierre Thomas also returned a week ago. Ingram rushed 23 times for 122 yards in the Week 13 win, which was his fourth 100-yard game with Robinson out. Robinson was running well before he was hurt, and his 5.2 yards per carry rank second in the league if he was eligible.

Fantasy Tip: The Panthers present a juicy matchup for the Saints running backs. Unfortunately, it won't be wise to use Robinson, even at what should be a cheap FantasyScore price, until he's back in the running back rotation receiving substantial touches.

Saints | Khiry Robinson expected back in Week 14

Sun, 30 Nov 2014 16:08:37 -0800

New Orleans RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) missed another game in Week 13 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but head coach Sean Payton said Sunday, Nov. 30, that Robinson is expected back in Week 14. His expected return means the team is not interested in free-agent RB Ray Rice (Ravens). "We like our running back depth and...if you'll do a little research, Khiry's coming back next week," Payton said.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson might be back soon, but he is a far from a useful FantasyScore option due to the amount of backs surrounding him.

Saints | Khiry Robinson ruled out

Fri, 28 Nov 2014 15:21:10 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) has been ruled out for Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: Mark Ingram, Pierre Thomas and Travaris Cadet will split time as usual out of the backfield, though, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been better than average against the run this year.

Thu, 27 Nov 2014 13:53:15 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson probably will miss another game because of his forearm injury. Robinson should not be an option in any league as long as he is dealing with the injury.

Saints | Khiry Robinson sits out

Wed, 26 Nov 2014 15:04:12 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson has missed the last several games and does not look to be an option for Week 13 either. Owners should avoid using him until he is able to return.

Sat, 22 Nov 2014 11:51:25 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) did not practice Saturday, Nov. 22 and has been ruled out for Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: Mark Ingram will still get the bulk of the carries Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Pierre Thomas and Travaris Cadet are both probable and will also be involved, specifically in the passing game.

Saints | Khiry Robinson out again

Fri, 21 Nov 2014 13:21:59 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) did not practice for the second straight day Friday, Nov. 21.

Fantasy Tip: It's not looking good for Robinson to return in Week 12 against the Baltimore Ravens Monday night. Avoid him everywhere. Mark Ingram ($6,600) has been the bell-cow back, but he faces a very stout Baltimore run defense. You may want to look somewhere else as you fill your rushing slots.

Saints | Travaris Cadet, Khiry Robinson no-shows

Thu, 20 Nov 2014 14:24:08 -0800

New Orleans Saints RBs Travaris Cadet (hamstring) and Khiry Robinson (forearm) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 20.

Fantasy Tip: Neither running back is expected to play Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens, so plan to avoid them again at FantasyScore. Mark Ingram ($6,600) should see the bulk of the load again, even if Pierre Thomas returns, but the Ravens allow the fewest fantasy points to rushers this year (12.69), so this looks like a spot to refrain from using Ingram.

Fri, 14 Nov 2014 13:07:52 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (arm) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 14, and has been ruled out for Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: Mark Ingram likely will continue to receive most of the carries with Robinson and Pierre Thomas still sidelined. Ingram costs $6,700 on FantasyScore and is a solid starting option if an owner is willing to spend the money on him.

Saints | Pierre Thomas, Khiry Robinson out

Thu, 13 Nov 2014 15:01:47 -0800

New Orleans Saints RBs Pierre Thomas (shoulder, rib) and Khiry Robinson (arm) were both absent from practice again Thursday, Nov. 13. Both players are long shots to play in Week 11 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Thomas did some individual work Wednesday, Nov. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Thomas ($5,200) and Robinson ($4,000) need to be avoided at all costs at FantasyScore. Mark Ingram ($6,700) should continue to see the bulk of the carries, making him a solid option. Don't forget about Travaris Cadet ($3,200), either.

Saints | Khiry Robinson does not practice

Wed, 12 Nov 2014 19:28:07 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (arm) was unable to practice Wednesday, Nov. 12, due to his arm injury.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson is a question mark for Week 11 against Cincinnati at this point. Even if he can play, as long as Mark Ingram is healthy, Robinson's FantasyScore appeal is rather limited.

Saints | Two Saints RBs out

Sun, 09 Nov 2014 09:02:02 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Pierre Thomas (shoulder, rib) and RB Khiry Robinson (arm) are inactive Sunday, Nov. 9, for Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: Mark Ingram ($6,100; 12.2% of your cap) faces a tough matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, but they'll be without Patrick Willis (toe). Ingram will have a heavy workload, but Travaris Cadet ($3,300; 6.6%) could pitch in on passing downs. Ingram is a decent RB2 on FantasyScore.

Fri, 07 Nov 2014 13:42:21 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (arm) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 7, and is been ruled out for Week 10.

Fantasy Tip: Mark Ingram is also dealing with an injury but would receive most of the carries if he is able to play with Travaris Cadet also receiving work. Ingram costs $6,300 on FantasyScore, while Cadet costs $3,300.

Saints | Khiry Robinson held out

Thu, 06 Nov 2014 17:41:32 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (arm) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 6, and is questionable for the team's Week 10 game Sunday, Nov. 9.

Fantasy Tip: If Robinson misses the game, Mark Ingram will carry the load between the tackles. A matchup against San Francisco isn't ideal, but Ingram could still receive enough touches to justify his $6,300 salary (12.6% of cap) at FantasyScore.

Saints | Khiry Robinson misses practice

Wed, 05 Nov 2014 17:23:58 -0800

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (arm) missed practice Wednesday, Nov. 5, due to his arm injury.

Fantasy Tip: Check back later in the week for a better idea of his status for the Week 10 game against San Francisco. Even if healthy, the emergence of Mark Ingram has limited the touches of Robinson, making him a risky play even at $4,000 (or 8.0 percent of the cap) in FantasyScore leagues.

Saints | Khiry Robinson, Pierre Thomas out

Thu, 30 Oct 2014 16:15:35 -0700

New Orleans Saints RBs Khiry Robinson (forearm) and Pierre Thomas (shoulder) are both inactive in Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers Thursday, Oct. 30.

Fantasy Tip: With both Robinson and Thomas out, Mark Ingram ($6,100; 12.2% of cap), who had a monster Week 8, should be in your lineups against the Panthers. Travaris Cadet ($3,300) isn't a bad option in PPR leagues such as FantasyScore, either.

Saints | Khiry Robinson doesn't practice

Tue, 28 Oct 2014 15:44:32 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) did not practice Tuesday, Oct. 28.

Fantasy Tip: If Robinson doesn't play Thursday night, which wouldn't be a surprise, Mark Ingram would again get the majority of work on the ground. Travaris Cadet could be a nice sleeper in point-per-reception leagues.

Saints | Khiry Robinson misses practice

Mon, 27 Oct 2014 14:49:12 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) did not participate in practice Monday, Oct. 27. This is an estimation since the team did not practice Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson only has a few days to get ready, so there is a chance he misses another game. Mark Graham and Travaris Cadet likely will continue to share work with Ingram getting most of the carries, while Cadet would be used as a pass catcher.

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 24, and has been ruled out for Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Mark Ingram and Travaris Cadet likely will receive most of the work in Week 8. Ingram probably will receive a majority of the carries, while Cadet likely will be used more as a receiver. Cadet will be a great sleeper option on FantasyScore at $3,300. Ingram is also a flex option for owners at $4,800.

Wed, 22 Oct 2014 13:38:24 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Fantasy Tip: It is not known if Robinson will be able to play in Week 8, so owners will have to monitor the situation. Mark Ingram and Travaris Cadet would get more playing time if Robinson is held out of the game. Ingram has a price of $4,800 on FantasyScore, while Cadet costs $3,300. Both could be flex options for owners looking for a cheaper option.

Saints | Mark Ingram may share carries

Thu, 16 Oct 2014 08:12:57 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (thumb) received a majority of the carries during the first two games of the season, but head coach Sean Payton said the team has not decided how they will split the carries in Week 7. RB Khiry Robinson filled in for Ingram while he was out and has rushed for 304 yards and two touchdowns in five games this season.

Fantasy Tip: It appears like the Saints may ease Ingram back into the lineup, which will affect his touches. Ingram costs $4,000 on FantasyScore, but would be a risky play since his workload is uncertain at this point.

Saints | Mark Ingram 100 percent ready

Wed, 15 Oct 2014 16:30:25 -0700

Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (thumb) said he hasn't been limited at all after returning to practice this week, and he no longer has a brace on his hand. "I'm ready to go full go, 100 percent, full tilt," Ingram said. "I've been getting all the reps in practice. They haven't babied me or eased me into practice, so I've been doing everything, catching, running, blocking, everything." However, head coach Sean Payton has been mum on how the team will split repetitions between Ingram and RBs Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Tip: Take note that Ingram should be back this week. That makes his low cost at FantasyScore intriguing, but be cautious. The three-headed monster could be back, making it a frustrating week-to-week guessing game.

Saints | Mark Ingram practices, expects to play

Wed, 15 Oct 2014 14:28:51 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (hand) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 15, and said he plans to play in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions. Ingram may wear a small brace on his hand, but his fracture has healed completely. RB Khiry Robinson had been taking most of the snaps in Ingram's absence. "We'll see how we handle that on Sunday," said head coach Sean Payton. "Obviously we value depth at that position."

Fantasy Tip: It makes sense to try and take advantage of Ingram's low cost ($4,000; 8.0% of cap) at FantasyScore, but it's still risky. Ingram could be limited upon his return, and the Lions have been stingy up front. Robinson ($6,000) doesn't have much intrigue now, and Pierre Thomas will cost ($5,600).

Saints | Khiry Robinson sees 22 touches

Sun, 05 Oct 2014 20:21:19 -0700

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson carried 21 times for 89 yards and a touchdown in the Week 5 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he also added a reception for eight yards.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson shredded the Tampa Bay rush defense rather nicely, and he can be relied upon as a solid RB2/3 or flex play as long as Mark Ingram is sidelined. Even when Ingram returns, likely after the bye, Robinson has earned a meaningful role.

Saints | Running game in neutral?

Mon, 29 Sep 2014 13:20:08 -0700

On paper, the New Orleans Saints running game looks good against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4. The team had 13 carries for 104 yards. However, outside of RB Khiry Robinson's 62-yard run in the fourth quarter, the Saints rushed 12 times for just 42 yards.

Fantasy Tip: The return of RB Mark Ingram (hand) may help, but if the Saints' continue to fall behind on the scoreboard early and often the running game may not be given a chance to rebound.
