Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu became the fourth player to have a .300 batting average, 40 home runs and 120 runs batted in through his first 162 games of his career. Abreu (.316-41-121) joins Rudy York, Chuck Klein and Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun in that club.
Fantasy Tip: Abreu ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) is in rare company with this feat, and it just illustrates the fine start he has had in his career. Abreu should be started in daily fantasy leagues.

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu will likely slide over to designated hitter or rest a couple of times a week with 1B Adam LaRoche in tow. General manager Rick Hahn said Abreu's foot and ankle issues that hobbled him in May could have affected him the rest of the season. Abreu is preparing to play the full 162-game season after wearing down the last two months, but LaRoche's presence could facilitate weekly DH or rest days to keep Abreu fresh.

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu (leg) is penciled in as the designated hitter for the first game of the doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers Saturday, Aug. 30, and could serve as the DH for the nightcap as well, according to manager Robin Ventura. He appeared to be battling minor leg discomfort Friday, Aug. 29, and was pulled from the game in the ninth inning. "I think he's just tired," Ventura said. "You get to a point in the season where you're playing so many games. It's his first time through it, so I think he's reacting to it for the first time. Just talking to him, he understands it. He still wants to play."
