Phillies | Maikel Franco fights off injury

Tue, 26 Apr 2016 22:46:46 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco (leg) was visited by a trainer in the seventh inning after stumbling while running the bases Tuesday, April 26, against the Washington Nationals. He was able to stay in the game.

Fantasy Tip: Franco finished 1-for-5 with a double and an RBI. It appears safe to keep him in the active fantasy lineup.

Phillies | Maikel Franco hits fifth bomb

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 05:17:29 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI during the Phillies' 10-6 win over the Milwaukee Brewers Saturday, April 23.

Fantasy Tip: Franco is picking up where he left off this spring and sits with five home runs, 12 RBI and a .299/.338/.552 slash line to start the season. Expect the budding star to live up to his preseason hype this year with a breakout campaign. Keep him in mind in daily contests against favorable opponents, too.

Phillies | Maikel Franco dials long distance twice

Fri, 22 Apr 2016 21:05:06 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco finished 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBIs Friday, April 22, against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Fantasy Tip: Franco had a giant spring and he has carried the momentum into April, posting a .274 average with four homers and eight RBIs with a .500 slugging percentage. He is a must-start fantasy option in most formats and a strong DFS play if you want to save a little salary at the hot corner.

Phillies | Maikel Franco collects three hits

Mon, 11 Apr 2016 16:32:43 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco went 3-for-4 with three singles Monday, April 11, versus the San Diego Padres.

Fantasy Tip: Franco has at least one hit in all six games he's played this season, and it seems like it's only a matter of time until he starts slugging out home runs on a regular basis like he was doing all throughout spring training. Franco is far and away the most lethal player in the Phillies lineup and is still on track for a huge season. He's hitting a very pleasant .409 at the moment.

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco (forearm) was available off the bench Friday, April 8, and he's expected to be back in the lineup soon. Franco didn't require any tests on his sore left forearm.

Fantasy Tip: Franco could be back as soon as Saturday. If that's the case, put him back into all fantasy lineups immediately, but check back again tomorrow before being sure.

Phillies | Maikel Franco out with sore elbow

Fri, 08 Apr 2016 08:28:41 -0700

Updating an earlier report, Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco (elbow) is out Friday, April 8, due to a sore left elbow.

Fantasy Tip: Franco was hit on the left elbow by a fastball in their previous game. Odubel Herrera is hitting third in his place. But, he is off to a 1-for-11 (.091) start, and starting him against Jacob deGrom isn't the safest idea in DFS.

Phillies | Maikel Franco hits seventh spring bomb

Fri, 18 Mar 2016 15:15:08 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco hit his seventh home run of spring training Friday, March 18.

Fantasy Tip: Through 80 games last season, Franco posted a .280/.343/.497 slash line with 45 runs, 14 home runs an 50 RBI. He is a ripe breakout target worth grabbing after the top-tier options at third base are selected. It isn't out of the question to reach a round early if you're confident in his talent, either. It's legitimate.

Phillies | Maikel Franco continues crushing

Mon, 14 Mar 2016 13:47:36 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco hit two home runs Monday, March 14, and now leads all MLB hitters this spring in home runs (six) and RBI (14) in 11 Grapefruit League games.

Fantasy Tip: Franco's spring breakout is no fluke. The second-year player had 14 home runs in 304 at-bats last year as a rookie before a wrist injury ended his season. He has 30-homer power for a weak Phils squad and could break out even more in 2016. He's a high-upside third base option once the top options are off the board.

Phillies | Maikel Franco goes yard twice

Thu, 10 Mar 2016 15:19:31 -0800

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco hit two home runs in a Grapefruit League game Thursday, March 10. He already has four home runs in spring training.

Fantasy Tip: Franco is an obvious breakout candidate after he had 14 home runs in 304 at-bats in his rookie season. A late-season wrist fracture doesn't look to be bothering him now. He might be a bit overvalued in fantasy drafts, but he's worth a look in the early rounds.
