Fantasy Tip: Franco's wrist injury wasn't too serious, as he only missed a few games. Get the young slugger back into all fantasy lineups. He's hitting a decent .259 with 18 long balls and 55 RBI on the season.

Phillies | Maikel Franco sitting again vs. Pirates

Sun, 24 Jul 2016 08:35:51 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco (wrist) is not in the starting lineup Sunday, July 24. INF Andres Blanco is starting at third base and batting third against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jameson Taillon Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: Franco is missing his second consecutive game after being hit by a pitch in the wrist and leaving the game Friday, July 22. He's emerging as a solid power option at the hot corner with 18 home runs and 55 RBI this season. Blanco is nothing more than a low-priced flier in daily contests Sunday.

Phillies | Maikel Franco out of the lineup

Sat, 23 Jul 2016 11:07:53 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco (wrist) is not in the starting lineup Saturday, July 23. 3B Andres Blanco will take his place at third base and bat third against Pittsburgh Pirates Tyler Glasnow.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco is a capable replacement for Franco in the heart of the lineup. He has hit better on the left side, too. Blanco is a decent starting option at a lower-than-usual price for a starter batting third in the lineup.

Phillies | Maikel Franco homers in fourth straight

Wed, 06 Jul 2016 14:47:28 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco homered in his fourth consecutive game Wednesday, July 6, opposite the Atlanta Braves. He was 1-for-3 in the contest with his 17th home run of the season, finishing with two runs scored and an RBI. He also drew a walk.

Fantasy Tip: Franco is out to a booming start in July, being 11-for-22 with four homers, seven runs scored and eight RBI in the month's first six ballgames. The young third baseman exhibited a ton of promise last season and through spring training this past March, and it looks like he's starting to unleash more of that untapped potential. He has a real shot of finishing the year with 30 homers and 100 RBI, and is worth deploying on a daily basis in all formats.

Tue, 05 Jul 2016 19:19:59 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Maikel Franco went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored Tuesday, July 5, against the Atlanta Braves.

Fantasy Tip: Franco is up to 16 homers on the season and he has 48 RBIs to this point. He is a fantastic corner infielder fantasy option in all NL-only leagues, most mixed formats and certainly in DFS play for his power potential at the hot corner.

Phillies | Maikel Franco drives in three in rout

Mon, 27 Jun 2016 22:21:49 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco finished 2-for-5, including an RBI single in the sixth inning and a two-run single in the seventh, in an 8-0 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday, June 27.

Fantasy Tip: Consistency has not been Franco's bag in 2016, as 27 of his team-high 40 RBI have come in 10 games this season. However, the fact the 23-year-old has been able to drive in that many runs for the majors' second-worst offense is a feat in and of itself. Franco is batting .243, has scored 25 runs and doesn't steal bases to go along with his 12 homers and 40 RBI, making him a fringe corner infield option in most leagues.
