|Reds | Michael Lorenzen to work in bullpen|
Wed, 16 Sep 2015 20:38:23 -0700
Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Reds SP Michael Lorenzen is likely to have made his final start of the season Wednesday, Sept. 16, against the San Francisco Giants. However, manager Bryan Price wants him to be available in relief. "I'd like him to be available to pitch out of the bullpen so he can continue to pitch in the month of September," Price said. "It wouldn't be a big workload but his availability is important, I think. It's important for him to finish the season active."
Fantasy Tip: Active or non-active, if Lorenzen ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) isn't starting he can be struck off of your FantasyScore list.

|Reds | Michael Lorenzen could be shut down soon|
Wed, 16 Sep 2015 17:15:19 -0700
Cincinnati Reds SP Michael Lorenzen could be making his final start of the year against the San Francisco Giants Wednesday, Sept. 16. He has thrown 105 2/3 innings and is close to reaching his limit for the season.
Fantasy Tip: Lorenzen ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is 1-0 with a 3.48 ERA through two starts this month, after going 0-2 with a 12.27 ERA in August. FantasyScore owners who would prefer to spend the bulk of their cap money on offense should consider using him tonight.

|Reds | Michael Lorenzen optioned|
Thu, 13 Aug 2015 17:57:36 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Lorenzen ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) had allowed 23 earned runs over his past four starts, and he lasted longer than five innings just twice in that span. Season-long owners are free to drop him.

|Reds | Michael Lorenzen struggling mightily|
Wed, 05 Aug 2015 22:49:10 -0700
Cincinnati Reds SP Michael Lorenzen is scheduled to start Thursday, Aug. 6, against the St. Louis Cardinals. He is looking for his first win since June 21. He is 0-4 over his past six starts and he has been hit hard in the past three outings, allowing 17 runs in 13 innings.
Fantasy Tip: Lorenzen ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) comes with a cheap price tag, but he has been terrible lately. Avoid him in FantasyScore, especially against a good offense.

|Reds | Cincy youngsters to be limited|
Tue, 04 Aug 2015 16:31:34 -0700
Cincinnati Reds manager Bryan Price said all of the team's young pitchers, including SPs Anthony DeSclafani, Michael Lorenzen, Raisel Iglesias, David Holmberg, Keyvius Sampson, Robert Stephenson, Brandon Finnegan and John Lamb will have their innings monitored as the season wears on. "The biggest challenge is for a lot of guys who will be considered for call-ups for September or even earlier. We'll have guys who don't have that first major-league season where they pitched in September and had a chance to take their workload from 145 innings or 150 to 175 or 185. We'll have a lot of guys who we'll have to be cautious with their innings."
Fantasy Tip: That's not what owners of any of these pitchers want to hear, but it's a reality that often affects all young pitchers and their fantasy owners as the season winds down. On FantasyScore, none of the Reds young pitchers is ever a slam dunk, and their daily value will likely only continue to plummet if they are kept on pitch counts or innings limits.

|Reds | Michael Lorenzen has difficult matchup|
Wed, 08 Jul 2015 18:10:47 -0700
Cincinnati Reds SP Michael Lorenzen is scheduled to face the Miami Marlins and SP Jose Fernandez Thursday, July 9. He is 2-2 with a 4.15 ERA in seven road appearances (five starts), and Fernandez is 13-0 with a 1.23 ERA in 21 career home starts.
Fantasy Tip: Lorenzen ($4,300; or 8.6% of cap) is not a recommended FantasyScore option for this most difficult matchup. Fernandez will suffer a home defeat one of these days, but Lorenzen doesn't have the numbers to match up in this one.

|Reds | CIN adjusts rotation|
Thu, 18 Jun 2015 17:38:26 -0700
The Cincinnati Reds have adjusted their starting rotation following the rainout Thursday, June 18, against the Detroit Tigers. SP Mike Leake will pitch Friday, against the Miami Marlins, SP Anthony DeSclafani will go Saturday, against the Marlins and SP Michael Lorenzen will pitch the series finale Sunday.
Fantasy Tip: All three Reds' starters carry sizable risk on FantasyScore, with that risk being elevated at the hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. With the Marlins in town, however, any of the three could be considered in GPP tournaments.

|Reds | Michael Lorenzen set to start Thursday|
Wed, 10 Jun 2015 18:26:13 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Lorenzen ($3,800; or 7.6% of cap) has no decisions over his past three outings, but he has a sparkling 2.79 ERA with 12 strikeouts over 19 1/3 innings. He is an intriguing play in FantasyScore at a low price, especially considering he has quality starts in four of his past five starts.

|Reds | Michael Lorenzen out of the rotation|
Thu, 14 May 2015 18:44:49 -0700
Cincinnati Reds SP Michael Lorenzen will move to the bullpen in an effort to limit his innings while the Reds use a four-man rotation because of four off days between Thursday, May 14, and Monday, June 1.
Fantasy Tip: Lorenzen ($3,000. 6.0% of cap) has a 2.81 ERA in three starts this year, and although he has battled control issues, he could make a nice bargain play at FantasyScore depending on the opponent if he returns to the rotation next month.

|Reds | Michael Lorenzen to start Wednesday|
Tue, 28 Apr 2015 14:27:32 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Lorenzen will be a cheap commodity at FantasyScore in his major league debut, and against the struggling Brew Crew, he could be a fantastic profit play to outsmart your competition. It's unclear if this is just a spot start or if he'll remain in the rotation. Lorenzen was 2-1 with a 2.84 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 19 innings for Triple-A Louisville this year.
