White Sox | Tim Anderson not available

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 10:06:01 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tim Anderson is not available at the trade deadline.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson is the White Sox's shortstop of the future, and he's looked good with a .283 average, five home runs, 11 RBI and three steals in his first taste of the majors in 33 games. However, he must improve his plate patience and take more walks (just two in 145 at-bats) in order to use his speed more and become useful in the majority of seasonal leagues at the 6.

White Sox | Tim Anderson, Avisail Garcia out

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 10:01:07 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tim Anderson and OF Avisail Garcia are not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 20. SS Tyler Saladino is starting at shortstop and hitting ninth, while 1B Justin Morneau is serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup against Seattle Mariners SP Felix Hernandez. Also, OF Melky Cabrera moves into the two-hole.

Fantasy Tip: There's not much to like about Saladino hitting ninth for DFS purposes against King Felix in his return. However, both Melky and Morneau can be under-the-radar value plays in prime lineup spots. Hernandez has put up good numbers but isn't his usual dominant self this year and is making his first start back today after a long layoff.

White Sox | Tim Anderson goes deep

Mon, 04 Jul 2016 15:55:05 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tim Anderson went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI against the New York Yankees Monday, July 4.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson has at least one hit in 10 of his last 11 games with seven multi-hit games during that span. He should be a starting candidate in AL-only leagues, some deeper mixed leagues and some daily fantasy leagues.

White Sox | Tim Anderson cooled off

Fri, 01 Jul 2016 20:58:48 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tim Anderson was hitless in four at-bats with a pair of strikeouts Friday, July 1, against the Houston Astros.

Fantasy Tip: The hitless game snapped a four-game multi-hit streak. If and when he doesn't hit, he kills fantasy owners, as he has struck out 30 times in 90 at-bats since being recalled.

White Sox | Tim Anderson not taking free passes

Fri, 01 Jul 2016 10:34:35 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tim Anderson entered the day Thursday, June 30, with 27 strikeouts and no walks in 82 plate appearances. He drew his first walk on the year in the game Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson has hit well for Chicago (.314) with three home runs and two stolen bases. It looks like he'll stick as the Pale Hose's starting shortstop for the foreseeable future, and his speed plays in all fantasy formats. His plate approach must improve, though, if he's to get more chances to steal bases and improve his on-base percentage.

White Sox | Tim Anderson has two more hits

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 21:08:39 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tim Anderson went 2-for-5 with a double, run scored, two RBIs and three strikeouts Wednesday, June 29, against the Minnesota Twins. He pushed his average up to .293.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson has three straight multi-hit efforts, and he has nine games with two or more hits in 18 games since his debut June 10. He has been everything as advertised and is a must-start fantasy option in AL-only leagues, deeper mixed formats, long-term dynasty leagues and DFS play.

White Sox | Tim Anderson homers again

Sun, 26 Jun 2016 16:29:43 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tim Anderson homered for the second straight game, going 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in a 5-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays Sunday, June 26.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson is adjusting well at the major league level, and he has scored 13 runs in 16 games. Grab him in AL-only leagues and deeper mixed formats if he is still available.

White Sox | Tim Anderson on base three times

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 21:24:02 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tim Anderson went 3-for-5 with a triple and three runs scored Wednesday, June 15, against the Detroit Tigers. He has back-to-back multi-hit games, and three games with two or more hits in three of his six outings since coming up from the minors.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson is living up to the hype so far, and he looks comfortable atop Robin Ventura's lineup. If he is still available in AL-only and deeper mixed fantasy leagues, grab him. He is quite the value in DFS play, too, but the bargain won't last long.

White Sox | Another two-hit day for Tim Anderson

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 21:50:30 -0700

Chicago White Sox rookie SS Tim Anderson finished 2-for-5 with two doubles and scored a run against the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday, June 14. Anderson also had two hits in his big-league debut on Friday, June 10.

Fantasy Tip: In two games since taking over the leadoff spot, the White Sox have scored 18 runs, so there is a very good chance Anderson will remain atop the Chicago lineup for the foreseeable future, in front of the likes of Adam Eaton and Jose Abreu. The 22-year-old phenom should eventually offer his owners solid production in batting average, runs and steals.

White Sox | Tim Anderson leading off

Mon, 13 Jun 2016 12:44:13 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tim Anderson is leading off against Detroit Tigers SP Matt Boyd Monday, June 13.

Fantasy Tip: With Class AAA Charlotte, Anderson posted a .304/.325/.409 slash line with 39 runs, four home runs, 20 RBI and 11 stolen bases through 55 games. He is a nice source of speed and runs if he sticks atop the lineup, but he shouldn't be viewed as a must-start shortstop yet, either. Grab the rookie in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.
