Panthers | More On the Altercation

Updating an earlier story, the Associated Press reports Carolina Panthers WR Anthony Bright broke his nose in the altercation he had with teammate, WR Steve Smith. WR Isaac Byrd visited Bright in the hospital and he said Bright's injuries were "very disturbing." "I wanted to leave the room the second I walked in there," Byrd said. "When I saw him his face was covered, it was like a sheet below the eyes. The nose was covered. Half the face was swollen and his left eye was closed, you'd have thought there was a bulldozer in Steve's fist." Byrd said Smith called Bright's hospital room while he was there. As noted, the team suspended Smith this week.

The Charlotte Observer reports Carolina Panthers WR Isaac Byrd (groin) is worried he is suffering from a sports hernia. "I've talked to Dan (Morgan) and to (John) Kasay about their symptoms and I have the same symptoms that they had," Byrd said.
