Marlins | Derek Dietrich, Justin Bour sitting

Tue, 03 May 2016 13:42:12 -0700

Miami Marlins 2B Derek Dietrich and 1B Justin Bour are not in the starting lineup against Arizona Diamondbacks left-handed SP Patrick Corbin Tuesday, May 3. SS Miguel Rojas is at the keystone and is batting eighth, while 1B Chris Johnson is starting at first base and hitting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Rojas is more of a desperation daily selection. Johnson doesn't move the needle much, either, but he does own a .312 career average against southpaws. Johnson doesn't hit for much power but makes steady contact and could return decent value if you're looking for a deep daily sleeper.

Marlins | Different middle infield for Miami

Fri, 29 Apr 2016 14:27:52 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria is not in the starting lineup Friday, April 29. SS Miguel Rojas is at shortstop and is hitting seventh, while 2B Derek Dietrich is at second base and is hitting sixth with 2B Dee Gordon starting his suspension. The Marlins are facing Milwaukee Brewers SP Zach Davies Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Dietrich and Rojas figure to split time at the keystone with Gordon suspended for the next 80 games. Dietrich has more power and is the more attractive waiver wire target if you're looking to replace Gordon in deeper mixed and NL-only leagues. Both could be decent low-priced daily fliers tonight opposite Davies.

Marlins | Adeiny Hechavarria not playing

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 12:19:14 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria are not in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants SP Matt Cain Sunday, April 24. SS Miguel Rojas will start at shortstop and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Rojas has gone 3-for-10 so far this season and could be an option in NL-only leagues but can be avoided in most mixed leagues.

Marlins | No Adeiny Hechavarria Tuesday

Tue, 19 Apr 2016 11:43:03 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, April 19. SS Miguel Rojas is starting at the 6 and is batting eighth against Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg.

Fantasy Tip: Rojas hit .282 with a home run and 17 RBI in 142 at-bats for the Fish in 2015, but he should be low on the totem pole of daily players to pick from on shortstop tonight, especially against Strasburg.

Marlins | Marcell Ozuna sitting Wednesday

Wed, 13 Apr 2016 08:35:43 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna is out of the lineup Wednesday, April 13, with OF Ichiro Suzuki hitting second. SS Adeiny Hechavarria also has the day off, and SS Miguel Rojas is hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Suzuki and Rojas aren't real strong DFS options against Logan Verrett.

Marlins | No Adeiny Hechavarria vs. Rays

Thu, 01 Oct 2015 13:03:56 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria (hamstring) remains sidelined Thursday, Oct. 1. SS Miguel Rojas is starting at shortstop and batting eighth against Tampa Bay Rays SP Jake Odorizzi Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Hechavarria ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) appears all but finished for the 2015 season, so he isn't worth holding onto in seasonal leagues at this point. Rojas ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is a sneaky FantasyScore option Thursday, as he owns a .315 batting average against right-handed pitchers this season and a 1.101 OPS over his past 10 games.

Marlins | Adeiny Hechavarria still sitting

Wed, 30 Sep 2015 13:50:42 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria (hamstring) remains sidelined Wednesday, Sept. 30. SS Miguel Rojas is starting at shortstop and batting ninth against Tampa Bay Rays SP Drew Smyly Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Hechavarria ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) looks like a long shot to play again this season, and even if he does, you should't expect much in terms of fantasy production. He has been out since Wednesday, Sept. 2. Rojas ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has filled in nicely, but not against lefties, as he owns a .356 OPS against southpaws. He cannot be started with confidence in any fantasy format Wednesday, including FantasyScore.

Marlins | Adeiny Hechavarria out vs. Braves

Fri, 25 Sep 2015 12:50:23 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria (hamstring) remains out of the starting lineup Friday, Sept. 25. SS Miguel Rojas is starting at shortstop and hitting eighth against Atlanta Braves SP Ryan Weber Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Hechavarria ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has been out since Wednesday, Sept. 2, and he was expected to have returned by now. He isn't worth a roster spot in the majority of seasonal leagues. Rojas ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) had his eight-game hitting streak snapped Thursday, Sept. 24, and while he was producing well, he shouldn't be confused for anything other than a desperation flier at FantasyScore Friday.

Marlins | Adeiny Hechavarria out vs. Phillies

Thu, 24 Sep 2015 12:29:34 -0700

Miami Marlins Adeiny Hechavarria (hamstring) remains out of the starting lineup Thursday, Sept. 24. SS Miguel Rojas is starting at shortstop and hitting eighth against Philadelphia Phillies SP Alec Asher Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Hechavarria ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) was expected to be back by now, so the injury appears to be more serious than originally expected. At this stage of the season, he isn't worth holding out hope for in yearly leagues. While Rojas ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) owns a career .551 OPS, he has an eight-game hitting streak, and could be worthy of a desperation flier at FantasyScore Thursday.

Marlins | Adeiny Hechavarria still out of the lineup

Wed, 23 Sep 2015 13:24:05 -0700

Miami Marlins SS Adeiny Hechavarria (hamstring) remains out of the starting lineup Wednesday, Sept. 23. SS Miguel Rojas is starting at shortstop and hitting eighth against Philadelphia Phillies SP David Buchanan Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Hechavarria ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has been out since Wednesday, Sept. 2, but was expected to be back by now, so the injury appears to be more serious than originally expected. In seasonal leagues, you can replace him for immediate help without much worry, especially at this stage of the game. Rojas ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) owns a career .547 OPS over 284 plate appearances, and he is nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief at FantasyScore Wednesday.
