Marlins | J.T. Realmuto sitting Thursday

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 09:14:15 -0700

Miami Marlins C J.T. Realmuto is not in the starting lineup Thursday, July 30. C Jeff Mathis is behind the plate and is hitting eighth against Washington Nationals SP Max Scherzer.

Fantasy Tip: Mathis ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) doesn't deserve to be in any FantasyScore lineups, especially while facing Scherzer.

Marlins | No J.T. Realmuto vs. Padres

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 15:05:00 -0700

Miami Marlins C J.T. Realmuto is not in the starting lineup Friday, July 24. C Jeff Mathis is starting behind the plate and batting seventh against San Diego Padres SP Andrew Cashner Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to remove Realmuto ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) from all lineups Friday. He has emerged as a low-end catcher option in cavernous mixed, NL-only and two-catcher formats. Mathis ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) owns a career .194/.253/.303 slash line and doesn't tip the fantasy scales enough to warrant FantasyScore attention.

Marlins | J.T. Realmuto will not start

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 08:27:03 -0700

Miami Marlins C J.T. Realmuto is not in the starting lineup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Cole Hamels Sunday, July 19. C Jeff Mathis will start at catcher and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Realmuto ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) probably is receiving a day off and should play in the next game or two. Mathis ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting only .150 in his limited playing time this season and should not be a starting option on FantasyScore.

Marlins | J.T. Realmuto drives in four

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 19:59:31 -0700

Miami Marlins C J.T. Realmuto went 3-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored in a 14-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds Saturday, July 11.

Fantasy Tip: Realmuto ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has had an occasional big game this year, but good luck predicting when his next solid performance will come. He is a roll-off-the-dice play at FantasyScore.

Marlins | J.T. Realmuto resting Thursday

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 12:13:05 -0700

Miami Marlins C J.T. Realmuto is not in the starting lineup Thursday, July 9. C Jeff Mathis is behind the dish and is hitting eighth against Cincinnati Reds SP Michael Lorenzen.

Fantasy Tip: Mathis ($1,600, 3.2% of cap), who's hitting .162 (6-for-37), is strictly a desperation source of salary cap relief on FantasyScore. He has no home runs and only three RBI in limited duty in 2015.

Marlins | J.T. Realmuto with a breather

Thu, 02 Jul 2015 09:08:17 -0700

Miami Marlins C J.T. Realmuto is not in the starting lineup Thursday, July 2. C Jeff Mathis is behind the dish and hitting eighth against San Francisco Giants SP Matt Cain.

Fantasy Tip: Mathis ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is one to avoid on Fantasy in a rare start to catch Jose Fernandez (elbow), who is making his season debut. Mathis is batting only .167 (5-for-30) with nine strikeouts in 2015.

Marlins | Three hits for J.T. Realmuto

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 20:10:27 -0700

Miami Marlins C J.T. Realmuto went 3-for-4 during the Marlins 5-3 win over the San Francisco Giants Tuesday, June 30.

Fantasy Tip: It was Realmuto's ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) third consecutive multi-hit game, and the 24-year-old backstop is now sporting a respectable .250 batting average. He is a low-end option in NL-only, cavernous mixed and two-catcher formats, and doesn't warrant ownership elsewhere. FantasyScore players should view him as an upside source of cap relief while he is hitting well.

Marlins | J.T. Realmuto moved up in order

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 12:24:56 -0700

Miami Marlins C J.T. Realmuto is hitting second in the batting order against St. Louis Cardinals SP Carlos Martinez Tuesday, June 23. 2B Derek Dietrich was dropped down to fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Realmuto ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is more attractive as a sleeper catching option on FantasyScore while hitting near the top of the lineup. However, he's still a weak play while facing Martinez, who has been downright dominant for most of the year. Dietrich ($3,100, 6.2% of cap), who has three home runs in 24 at-bats this year, could struggle to return any value even at a cheap price.

Marlins | J.T. Realmuto out of lineup

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 08:05:49 -0700

Miami Marlins C J.T. Realmuto isn't in the starting lineup Sunday, June 21, against the Cincinnati Reds. C Jeff Mathis will start behind the plate and hit seventh in the order against RHP Michael Lorenzen.

Fantasy Tip: Mathis ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is just 4-for-25 on the season, and he'll be making a rare third start in five days Sunday. Mathis should be avoided on FantasyScore.
