Fri, 29 Apr 2016 14:29:10 -0700

Miami Marlins C J.T. Realmuto is not in the starting lineup Friday, April 29. C Jeff Mathis is doing the catching and is hitting eighth against Milwaukee Brewers SP Zach Davies.

Fantasy Tip: Mathis has a .194/.254/.306 slash line in 12 years in the big leagues and is a desperation daily pick as salary cap relief Friday night. Look elsewhere.

Marlins | Marcell Ozuna back up to No. 2

Sat, 23 Apr 2016 14:54:29 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna is hitting second Saturday, April 23, with C J.T. Realmuto out of the lineup. C Jeff Mathis is hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Ozuna is hitting just .204 and .167 over the last seven days. Jake Peavy has been awful in his first few starts this season so Ozuna might be ripe for the picking in DFS tonight. Mathis isn't worth much consideration.

Marlins | Martin Prado takes a seat

Fri, 22 Apr 2016 15:34:33 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado is not in the starting lineup Friday, April 22. OF Derek Dietrich is at the hot corner and is hitting seventh against San Francisco Giants SP Jeff Samardzija. Also, C J.T. Realmuto is moved up to the No. 2 spot in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: The left-handed utility player in Dietrich has some surprising pop for his size, and 20 of his 25 home runs in his career have come against right-handers. The Shark has been hurt by the long ball in the past year and change, so this is a matchup that could favor Dietrich for those digging deeper in daily leagues. Realmuto (9-for-44, .205) may get things going with a move up the order, but he's a risky proposition.

Marlins | J.T. Realmuto, Martin Prado out

Tue, 12 Apr 2016 11:54:28 -0700

Miami Marlins C J.T. Realmuto and 3B Martin Prado are not in the starting lineup Tuesday, April 12. OF Derek Dietrich is starting at the hot corner and hitting sixth, while C Jeff Mathis is behind the plate and is batting eighth against New York Mets SP Noah Syndergaard.

Fantasy Tip: Syndergaard was downright dominant in his first start against the reigning World Series champions in the Royals, so neither Dietrich nor Mathis are attractive at all for daily formats.

Marlins | J.T. Realmuto sitting vs. Braves

Fri, 25 Sep 2015 12:56:03 -0700

Miami Marlins C J.T. Realmuto is not in the starting lineup Friday, Sept. 25. C Jeff Mathis is starting behind the plate and batting seventh against Atlanta Braves SP Ryan Weber Friday.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players will want to avoid Mathis ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) Friday, as he sports a confidence-shattering .143/.194/.214 slash line this season. Realmuto ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has put together a solid second half with a .267/.299/.438 line and checks out as a low-end catcher option in NL-only, cavernous mixed and two-catch formats.
