Diamondbacks | Chase Anderson nearing return

Mon, 03 Aug 2015 20:19:17 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson (triceps) might return from the 15-day disabled list after just one minor-league rehab start with the team going with a six-man rotation, manager Chip Hale said Monday, Aug. 3. He threw four scoreless innings in a rookie league game in Arizona Sunday, Aug. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health in at least one full start without any setbacks.

Diamondbacks | Josh Collmenter might start Thu.

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 18:06:19 -0700

The Arizona Diamondbacks might use SP Josh Collmenter for the start Thursday, July 23, against the Milwaukee Brewers with SP Chase Anderson (triceps) ailing.

Fantasy Tip: Collmenter ($3,900; or 7.8% of cap) lost his rotation spot earlier in the season, but has worked in emergency situations before. He could be a sneaky low-end FantasyScore option in a home start against a poor opponent.

Diamondbacks | Chase Anderson to the DL

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 20:58:29 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson (triceps) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with right triceps inflammation Sunday, July 19.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) wasn't a great option at FantasyScore when healthy, and he can be avoided for the foreseeable future.

Diamondbacks | Chase Anderson chased early

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 05:57:25 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson lasted just 3 2/3 innings Saturday, July 18, against the San Francisco Giants, marking his shortest outing of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) hasn't made it out of the fifth inning in back-to-back starts, and he needs to be avoided in all FantasyScore contests until he can return to his early-season form.

Diamondbacks | Jeremy Hellickson will be pushed back

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 16:01:40 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Jeremy Hellickson (thumb) will switch spots in the rotation with SP Chase Anderson after the All-Star break. Hellickson will pitch the fifth game after the break and Anderson will pitch the fourth, manager Chip Hale said Sunday, July 12.

Fantasy Tip: Hellickson ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) owns an ugly 5.02 ERA this year, so regardless of when he pitches, he shouldn't be owned at FantasyScore.

Diamondbacks | Chase Anderson injured

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 23:57:30 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson (calf) suffered an injury to his right calf when a line drive glanced off it Friday, June 12, against the San Francisco Giants. Anderson, who lost a no-hitter at that point, grimaced in pain but stayed in the game.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson ($5,400, 10.8% of cap) should be fine in the long haul, and he won for the second time in three decisions. Take a look if he has any side effects following the injury and if he doesn't then use him in his next start.

Diamondbacks | Chase Anderson stellar in start

Wed, 20 May 2015 21:03:54 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson allowed one run on four hits in eight innings against the Miami Marlins Wednesday, May 20. Anderson struck out two batters and walked one in the game.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) has pitched very well in his four May starts and has allowed only three earned runs in 26 1/3 innings in those starts. He is scheduled to face the St. Louis Cardinals in his next start and may be a risky option.

Diamondbacks | Chase Anderson looks for road win

Wed, 13 May 2015 18:48:44 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson heads into his start Friday, May 15, against the Philadelphia Phillies looking for his first road win since June 3, 2014. He is also winless over his past seven outings.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players could be tempted by his $5,200 (or 10.4% of cap) salary, especially against a team with the worst run differential (minus-66) in the majors. Still, start him at your own peril, as he has not been good on the road.

Diamondbacks | D-backs announce starting rotation

Mon, 30 Mar 2015 14:50:08 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks SPs Josh Collmenter, Rubby De La Rosa, Jeremy Hellickson, Chase Anderson and Trevor Cahill will be in the starting rotation, according to manager Chip Hale.

Fantasy Tip: Check back for updates on who will pitch when, but there is limited fantasy value in this rotation. Add the fact Arizona's home ballpark is extremely hitter friendly, and FantasyScore players will want to generally avoid utilizing these starters in contests.

Diamondbacks | AZ has competition for rotation spots

Sun, 08 Feb 2015 12:23:52 -0800

As many as 10 pitchers could be competing for the final three spots in the Arizona Diamondbacks' starting rotation. SPs Josh Collmenter and Jeremy Hellickson are expected to win the first two spots in the rotation, although nothing is etched in stone. SPs Chase Anderson, Archie Bradley, Trevor Cahill, Andrew Chafin, Rubby De La Rosa, Randall Delgado, Daniel Hudson, Vidal Nuno, Robbie Ray and Allen Webster are vying for the other spots, although several of these pitchers could wind up in the bullpen or the minor leagues.
