Indians | Three Tribe regulars sitting out

Wed, 27 Apr 2016 14:42:12 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe and OFs Lonnie Chisenhall and Rajai Davis are not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 27. 3B Jose Ramirez is at the hot corner and is batting seventh, OF Marlon Byrd is starting in right field and is hitting eighth, while OF Tyler Naquin sees the start in center field and is batting ninth against Minnesota Twins SP Jose Berrios.

Fantasy Tip: The Tribe is facing a top pitching prospect making his major league debut in Berrios, so their is plenty of risk and reward for all three players in daily formats. However, with all three near the bottom of the lineup, they're more of desperation deep sleeper picks.

Indians | Juan Uribe returns to lineup Sunday

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 08:48:40 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe is back in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Shane Greene Sunday, April 24, batting seventh. 3B/OF Jose Ramirez, who played the hot corner Saturday, April 23, will move back to left field and bat fifth, while OF Rajai Davis receives the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Although Uribe is batting just .189 through 37 at-bats this year, he is batting .250 (5-for-20) versus righties and .333 (5-for-15) against right-handed starters, so he should be viewed as an inexpensive flier option in daily contests.

Indians | Juan Uribe not in the lineup

Sat, 23 Apr 2016 09:04:06 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe is not in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez Saturday, April 23. SS Jose Ramirez will start at third base and is batting sixth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez has recorded at least one hit in seven of his 10 games this season but has only one hit in his last 11 at-bats. Ramirez could be a sleeper option in some daily fantasy leagues but likely can be avoided in most mixed leagues.

Indians | Lonnie Chisenhall hitting seventh

Wed, 20 Apr 2016 11:32:55 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Lonnie Chisenhall is hitting seventh Wednesday, April 20, fresh off the disabled list. OF Jose Ramirez is leading off, and OF Marlon Byrd and OF Rajai Davis are sitting out.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez is hitting .300 and could be worth a low-end flyer against Taijuan Walker. Give Chisenhall a game or two to get his feet wet before considering him in DFS.

Indians | Tyler Naquin sitting vs. Mets

Sun, 17 Apr 2016 07:17:01 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Tyler Naquin is not in the starting lineup Sunday, April 17. INF/OF Jose Ramirez draws into the lineup and is starting in left field and batting ninth against New York Mets SP Steven Matz.

Fantasy Tip: Naquin is 5-for-15 to start the season, but he also hasn't drawn a walk or notched an extra-base hit. He is best left to cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues at this point, and you'll have to avoid him Sunday. Ramirez is having a nice start with a .500 slugging percentage through his first 28 games, and he is a potential flier in daily contests Sunday. Ramirez's positional flexibility makes him a potential add in cavernous mixed and AL-only formats, too.

Indians | Jose Ramirez playing left field Saturday

Sat, 16 Apr 2016 10:40:39 -0700

Cleveland Indians INF/OF Jose Ramirez will bat seventh and start in left field against New York Mets SP Saturday, April 16. OF Marlon Byrd is receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez is 8-for-24 with a home run and two RBI through six games and has seen most of his playing time in the outfield this year due to the emergence of Francisco Lindor at shortstop. View him as an inexpensive flier option in daily fantasy contests.

Indians | Rajai Davis takes a seat

Wed, 06 Apr 2016 11:36:08 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Rajai Davis and OF Collin Cowgill are out of the lineup Wednesday, April 6, in favor of OFs Jose Ramirez and Tyler Naquin.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez is in a nice spot between Francisco Lindor and Jason Kipnis in the two-hole while Naquin is hitting ninth. Ramirez might be a plug-and-play option against Clay Buchholz. We need to see more from Naquin, though.

Indians | Jose Ramirez tearing it up

Tue, 29 Mar 2016 21:25:16 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Jose Ramirez posted another RBI in the Cactus League spring game Tuesday, March 29, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He has 13 RBIs, tied for second place on the team this spring.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez is having a huge spring, but he will still be the utility infielder unless Jason Kipnis or Francisco Lindor suffer some sort of a long-term injury. At this point Ramirez is only worth a look in deeper AL-only fantasy formats for depth in the middle infield.

Indians | Jose Ramirez to play super-utility role

Tue, 23 Feb 2016 11:32:34 -0800

Cleveland Indians SS Jose Ramirez is expected to fill the team's super-utility role this year. As a switch hitter he offers speed off the bench and can play shortstop, second and third base. Manager Terry Francona said Ramirez will also see time in left and center field this spring. Ramirez hit .219 with a .631 OPS in 97 games for the Tribe last year.

Fantasy Tip: No power here. But he can run, and he can be a sneaky source of thefts in really deep mixed and AL-only leagues if an injury opens up more playing time for him.

Indians | Jason Kipnis not starting Sunday

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 12:07:42 -0700

Cleveland Indians 2B Jason Kipnis is not in the starting lineup against Boston Red Sox SP Rick Porcello Sunday, Oct. 4. INF Jose Ramirez will bat fifth and play second base.

Fantasy Tip: After a dismal first half, Ramirez ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is batting .259 with five home runs and 19 RBIs in 158 at-bats since the All-Star break. He could be worth considering as a FantasyScore value play.
