Indians | Cleveland sitting two players

Tue, 26 Jul 2016 14:05:19 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Lonnie Chisenhall and OF Tyler Naquin are not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Gio Gonzalez Tuesday, July 26. INF Jose Ramirez will start in left field, while 3B Juan Uribe will start at third base and is batting seventh. OF Abraham Almonte will start in right field and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Uribe has struggled this month and is hitting only .128 with four RBI during that span. Owners probably should not use Uribe in their lineups. Almonte has only four hits in his last 12 games and can also be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

Indians | Juan Uribe sitting vs. Royals

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 08:15:02 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 20. INF/OF Jose Ramirez is starting at the hot corner and batting fifth against Kansas City Royals SP Ian Kennedy Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Uribe's fantasy value is dwindling, and with Cleveland looking to take a run at the playoffs, it's unlikely they view him as a viable starter at the hot corner. He owns a .214/.266/.348 slash line, after all. Ramirez is a low-end option in deep mixed leagues because of his lack of pop, but he does have nice stats otherwise: 45 runs, 41 RBI and 10 stolen bases with a .294/.351/.412 line.

Indians | Rajai Davis not in Friday lineup

Fri, 08 Jul 2016 12:34:43 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Rajai Davis is not in the lineup Friday, July 8, against the New York Yankees. 3B Jose Ramirez is in left field and 3B Juan Uribe is at third base. Ramirez is batting fifth against Yankees SP Chad Green and Uribe is hitting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: The Indians are just getting Davis another day off, his second in three games. There is nothing to worry about as Davis (.271-9-33, 22 stolen bases) is having a fantastic season. Ramirez (.296-4-34, 10 SB) carries some fantasy value and can be started in all formats. Uribe (.222-7-22) is on a cool streak at the plate and can be avoided for the time being despite his plate power.

Indians | Jose Ramirez extends streak to 10

Tue, 05 Jul 2016 21:53:38 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Jose Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs Tuesday, July 5, against the Detroit Tigers to push his hitting streak to 10 games.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez is hitting .341 (15-for-44) with five runs scored and seven RBIs during his 10-game run. He remains a solid play in AL-only fantasy leagues and DFS play.

Indians | Juan Uribe scratched

Sun, 03 Jul 2016 09:25:54 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe (finger, wrist) was scratched from the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP J.A. Happ Sunday, July 3, because of an injured finger. SS Jose Ramirez will start at third base and is batting sixth, while 2B Jason Kipnis will start at second base and is batting second.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez and Kipnis has posted terrific offensive numbers so far this season and should be starting candidates in all leagues.

Indians | Jason Kipnis, Tyler Naquin resting

Sun, 03 Jul 2016 08:24:18 -0700

Cleveland Indians 2B Jason Kipnis and OF Tyler Naquin are receiving the day off against Toronto Blue Jays SP J.A. Happ Sunday, July 3. INF Jose Ramirez is playing second base and batting second, while SS Francisco Lindor is back in the lineup as the No. 3 hitter. In addition, C Yan Gomes will start behind the plate and bat sixth, OF Abraham Almonte will bat seventh and play center field and 3B Juan Uribe (wrist) will play the hot corner and bat eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez and Lindor are viable options in all formats but Gomes is just 2-for-17 over the past week and is 1-for-7 in his career versus Happ, so he should be avoided this afternoon. Almonte was projected to be the club's regular center fielder entering 2016 but was forced to serve an 80-game suspension after testing positive for the drug Boldenone during spring training. He could push Tyler Naquin for regular playing time at the position going forward. Uribe should be viewed as nothing more than an inexpensive flier in DFS.

Indians | Juan Uribe leaves with wrist injury

Sat, 02 Jul 2016 12:42:16 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe (wrist) left the game against the Toronto Blue Jays in the sixth inning Saturday, July 2, after getting hit by a pitched ball. INF Jose Ramirez moved over from shortstop to replace him at the hot corner, with SS Francisco Lindor entering the game to play shortstop.

Fantasy Tip: Uribe was 0-for-2 with an RBI before leaving Saturday's game. The severity of his injury is unknown at this point, so keep checking back occasionally for updates on his status. If Uribe is forced to miss an extended period of time, expect Ramirez to see the bulk of the playing time at third base.

Indians | Cleveland resting two players

Sat, 02 Jul 2016 08:18:40 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor and C Yan Gomes are not in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP Marco Estrada Saturday, July 2. SS Jose Ramirez will start at shortstop, while 3B Juan Uribe will start at third base and is batting seventh. C Chris Gimenez will start at catcher and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Uribe has at least one hit in seven of his last 10 games and has five home runs and eight RBI during that span. He should be a decent starting option in daily fantasy leagues. Gimenez is hitting only .200 in limited playing time this season and is not a strong option.

Indians | Juan Uribe back in lineup Sunday

Sun, 26 Jun 2016 08:34:31 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe is back in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Justin Verlander Sunday, June 26, with INF Jose Ramirez playing second base and INF/OF Michael Martinez playing left field. 2B Jason Kipnis (illness) and OF Rajai Davis are receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Uribe is hitting just .196 over the past four weeks and is not a recommended fantasy option this afternoon. Martinez is 6-for-13 (.462) with a home run and two RBI over the past two weeks and can be viewed as a productive source of salary cap relief in DFS.

Indians | Juan Uribe resting Saturday

Sat, 25 Jun 2016 10:29:08 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe is not in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez Saturday, June 25. INF/OF Jose Ramirez will bat fifth and play the hot corner, OF Tyler Naquin will bat eighth and play center field and OF Rajai Davis will bat ninth and play left field. In addition, C Yan Gomes will start behind the plate and bat seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Naquin is batting .318 with five home runs and 12 RBI in 44 at-bats this month and merits serious consideration for daily fantasy lineups today, while Ramirez and Davis are also batting over .300 during June. Gomes' overall numbers for 2016 remain horrendous, although he is 7-for-14 in his career versus Sanchez and is 6-for-16 at the plate this week, making this a very favorable matchup for him in DFS.
