Indians | Jose Ramirez perfect at the plate

Fri, 27 May 2016 19:41:54 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Jose Ramirez went 4-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored in a 6-4 loss to the Baltimore Orioles Friday, May 27.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez has his average up to .308, and his multi-position eligibility makes him worth a look in AL-only formats, especially while Michael Brantley is sidelined.

Indians | Yan Gomes, Marlon Byrd sitting

Fri, 27 May 2016 13:43:17 -0700

Cleveland Indians C Yan Gomes and OF Marlon Byrd are not in the starting lineup Friday, May 27. C Chris Gimenez is behind the dish and hitting eighth, while 3B/OF Jose Ramirez is starting in left field and batting fifth against Baltimore Orioles SP Mike Wright.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez is making the most of his playing time with the Tribe, hitting .287 with three home runs and 18 RBI. He doesn't have much power, but you can't argue with him as a DFS value pick the way he's been playing. Gimenez has occasional pop behind the dish but is a low-end backstop in daily formats.

Indians | Francisco Lindor out Wednesday

Wed, 25 May 2016 08:12:59 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor is out of the lineup Wednesday, May 25, with SS Jose Ramirez hitting third.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez has a .269-2-11 line this month that doesn't really jump off the page. He has upside hitting third today against Jose Quintana, though.

Indians | Jason Kipnis, Yan Gomes resting

Tue, 24 May 2016 14:27:27 -0700

Cleveland Indians 2B Jason Kipnis and C Yan Gomes are not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 24. 3B/OF Jose Ramirez is starting at second base and is hitting second, while C Chris Gimenez draws the start behind the plate and is batting eighth against Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez has been solid for the Tribe this year while moving around multiple positions, but the matchup against the 9-0 Sale is one to avoid him in in daily formats. Gimenez is a no-brainer to avoid, as well. The backup catcher has a slash line of .182/.217/.318 with one home run and one RBI in 22 at-bats.

Indians | Rajai Davis, Juan Uribe sitting

Mon, 23 May 2016 11:06:45 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Rajai Davis and 3B Juan Uribe are not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox Monday, May 23. OFs Michael Martinez and Marlon Byrd are starting and hitting ninth and eighth, respectively. 3B/OF Jose Ramirez is starting at third base and batting fifth against White Sox SP Mat Latos.

Fantasy Tip: Byrd and Martinez have low ceiling for fantasy gamers for Game 1. Ramirez has only one home run but is hittinng .296 (34-for-115) in a utility role for the Tribe and is a cheap value pick against Latos.

Indians | Jose Ramirez, Yan Gomes playing Sunday

Sun, 22 May 2016 08:57:59 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B/OF Jose Ramirez and C Yan Gomes are back in the starting lineup against Boston Red Sox SP Rick Porcello Sunday, May 22.

Fantasy Tip: Although his overall numbers still look underwhelming, Gomes is 5-for-17 (.294) with two doubles, a home run and five RBI over the past week and is worth considering for daily fantasy lineups. Ramirez is batting .301 versus right-handed pitching in 2016 and is hitting .323 over the past month, so he also merits consideration.

Indians | Jose Ramirez takes a seat

Sat, 21 May 2016 11:22:51 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Jose Ramirez is out of the lineup Saturday, May 21, with OF Marlon Byrd hitting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Byrd has yet to provide the kind of pop he has in recent years, but he's hitting .313 the last week. He's a low-end consideration against Joe Kelly.

Indians | Jose Ramirez hitting fifth

Tue, 17 May 2016 11:22:31 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B/OF Jose Ramirez is starting at third base and is hitting fifth against Cincinnati Reds SP Alfredo Simon Tuesday, May 17. 3B Juan Uribe is starting on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez is excelling in a utility role, slashing .323/.376/.452 with a home run and 13 RBI, and he's earned more playing time with Michael Brantley on the DL. Ramirez could shift between left field and the hot corner in the short term and isn't a bad target on the waiver wire for depth in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.

Indians | Juan Uribe back in lineup Sunday

Sun, 15 May 2016 08:14:56 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Juan Uribe is back in the starting lineup against Minnesota Twins SP Tyler Duffey Sunday, May 15, batting sixth. INF/OF Jose Ramirez, who played the hot corner Saturday, May 14, will bat fifth and play left field Sunday. In addition, C Chris Gimenez will bat eighth and start behind the plate, while OF Michael Martinez will play right field and bat ninth. OFs Marlon Byrd and Rajai Davis and C Yan Gomes are not in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Although Uribe is just batting .224 in 76 at-bats this season, it's worth nothing that he is hitting .324 with two doubles and three RBI in 37 at-bats at home. Gimenez is worth considering as a value play in DFS, while Martinez is nothing more than a desperation source of salary cap relief.

Indians | Tyler Naquin starting in center field

Sat, 14 May 2016 10:38:56 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Tyler Naquin will bat eighth and start in center field against Minnesota Twins SP Ervin Santana Saturday, May 14. OF Rajai Davis will bat ninth and slide over to left field, while INF/OF Jose Ramirez bats fifth and starts at the hot corner. 3B Juan Uribe is receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Naquin hit .315 during his first stint with the parent club this season and is back on the 25-man roster because OF Lonnie Chisenhall is on the bereavement list. He's worthy of consideration as an inexpensive flier in daily fantasy leagues Saturday.
