Indians | Jason Kipnis not starting Sunday

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 12:07:42 -0700

Cleveland Indians 2B Jason Kipnis is not in the starting lineup against Boston Red Sox SP Rick Porcello Sunday, Oct. 4. INF Jose Ramirez will bat fifth and play second base.

Fantasy Tip: After a dismal first half, Ramirez ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is batting .259 with five home runs and 19 RBIs in 158 at-bats since the All-Star break. He could be worth considering as a FantasyScore value play.

Indians | Chris Johnson out against Minny

Wed, 23 Sep 2015 14:36:41 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Chris Johnson is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Sept. 23. SS Jose Ramirez is starting at third base and batting second against Minnesota Twins SP Phil Hughes Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) checks out as a potential value target at FantasyScore Wednesday. Hughes has allowed a 1.75 HR/9 this year, and he has only made three starts since the beginning of August. Plus, Ramirez owns a respectable .833 OPS in September. Johnson ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has been great for Cleveland with a .349/.379/.460 slash line over 19 games. He is a potential matchup play for daily contests in his current form.

Indians | Jason Kipnis sitting vs. White Sox

Fri, 18 Sep 2015 13:34:46 -0700

Cleveland Indians 2B Jason Kipnis is not in the starting lineup Friday, Sept. 18. SS Jose Ramirez is starting at second base and batting ninth against Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Kipnis ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) has hit a wall since returning from injury Tuesday, Aug. 18, with a .571 OPS. At this stage of the fantasy season, it isn't out of the question to look for an upgrade. Ramirez ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) owns a .208/.279/.325 slash line against lefties, and he is an ill-advised FantasyScore option Friday.

Indians | Giovanny Urshela not starting

Sun, 06 Sep 2015 07:44:34 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Giovanny Urshela is not in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Justin Verlander Sunday, Sept. 6. SS Jose Ramirez will start at third base and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Urshela ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) probably will return to the lineup in one of the next few games. Ramirez ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has only two hits in his last 11 games and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Indians | Jason Kipnis serving as DH

Sat, 29 Aug 2015 12:24:29 -0700

Cleveland Indians 2B Jason Kipnis will bat leadoff and serve as the designated hitter against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Garrett Richards Saturday, Aug. 29. INF Jose Ramirez will play second base and bat ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Over the past week, Kipnis ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is 7-for-21 with a home run and six RBIs. Ramirez ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is only batting .200 through 70 games this season and is not a viable FantasyScore option.

Indians | Giovanny Urshela sitting

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 11:49:35 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Giovanny Urshela is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 26. SS Jose Ramirez is starting at the hot corner and hitting ninth against Milwaukee Brewers SP Jimmy Nelson.

Fantasy Tip: Nelson has been quite good in the second half for the Brewers, and Ramirez ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) doesn't have much to show at the plate this season, with a .204 average (47-for-230) with only two home runs and 16 RBI. Look elsewhere on FantasyScore.

Indians | Giovanny Urshela not in the lineup

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 08:10:54 -0700

Cleveland Indians 3B Giovanny Urshela is not in the starting lineup against New York Yankees SP Luis Severino Saturday, Aug. 22. SS Jose Ramirez will start at third base and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Urshela ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) should return to the lineup in the near future. Ramirez ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has seen time at different positions this season and has six hits in the last four games. Owners could consider using Ramirez in their lineups, but he is hitting only .211 on the season.

Indians | Jose Ramirez starting in LF

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 14:44:52 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Jose Ramirez is starting in left field and batting ninth against Boston Red Sox SP Joe Kelly Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Fantasy Tip: With Jason Kipnis back from the DL, Ramirez ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) must find other avenues to playing time, and this is one of them. However, he'll likely be in and out of the lineup in some capacity, and he already didn't have much fantasy value. He's a weak play on FantasyScore tonight.

Indians | Jose Ramirez likely back to bench

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 22:21:07 -0700

Cleveland Indians 2B Jose Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a strikeout Tuesday, Aug. 18, against the Boston Red Sox.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is likely headed back to the bench Wednesday with Jason Kipnis back from the 15-day disabled list.

Indians | Jose Ramirez to start at 2B

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 11:10:43 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Jose Ramirez will see the majority of time at second base with 2B Jason Kipnis (shoulder) on the disabled list, according to manager Terry Francona. Ramirez hit leadoff and played second base Monday, Aug. 3. The leadoff spot could be in flux without Kipnis there, though. SS Francisco Lindor and OF Michael Bourn are other options.

Fantasy Tip: Hitting leadoff increase daily fantasy value, but Ramirez ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is still probably nothing more than a sleeper pick on FantasyScore and a salary cap relief. Bourn ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has been hitting well since the All-Star break and would be much more intriguing as a sleeper if he's hitting atop the lineup.
