Redskins | Big games on tap for Chris Thompson?

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 18:31:49 -0800

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson faces the New Orleans Saints in Week 11, and the Saints have allowed the sixth-most yards to opposing running backs on screen passes. He faces the New York Giants in Week 12, and the Giants have allowed the second-most yards to running backs on screens. Thompson gained 199 yards off screen passes in the first five games compared to 18 yards in the last four.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson has cooled off following a hot start, and there seems to be a correlation with his lack of production in the screen game. With some solid matchups on the horizon, Thompson should be safe to deploy as a flex option in PPR formats the next two weeks.

Redskins | Samaje Perine is best of the lot

Sun, 12 Nov 2017 18:12:19 -0800

Washington Redskins RB Samaje Perine rushed nine times for a team-high 35 yards in the Week 10 game against the Minnesota Vikings. RB Chris Thompson ran nine times for 26 yards, and RB Rob Kelley had just 10 yards on four totes.

Fantasy Tip: Perine was the best of the trio, but that's not saying much. He also tacked on a 25-yard reception, while Thompson was good for 41 yards on three receptions. Perine remains more of an RB3 or flex play in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams, while Thompson has far more appeal in PPR formats.

Redskins | Chris Thompson doesn't do much

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 20:44:24 -0800

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson rushed four times for 20 yards in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks while adding four grabs for 11 yards on six targets.

Fantasy Tip: It wasn't a big day for Thompson, but that's to be expected against the stout Seattle defense. He'll look to rebound in Week 10 against the Vikings. He remains a decent RB3 or flex play in PPR fantasy formats.

Redskins | Chris Thompson pads his catch total

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson rushed four times for 18 yards and caught eight passes for 76 yards in a 33-19 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson continues to torch opponents in the passing game, making him a high-end flex play or low-end RB2 in PPR formats.

Redskins | Chris Thompson ready for Week 8

Fri, 27 Oct 2017 13:58:14 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson (toe) practiced in full on Friday, Oct. 27, and he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 8 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson saw 12 total touches in Monday's game against the Eagles, down slightly with Rob Kelley returning to action. However, Thompson was able to get back into the end zone for the first time in three games, and he has scored a total of five touchdowns (two rushing, three receiving) in six games this season. He has emerged as a useful RB3 or flex play in standard formats, and a solid RB2 in PPR leagues.

Redskins | Chris Thompson practices in full

Thu, 26 Oct 2017 15:19:54 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson (toe) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Chris Thompson received the same amount of carries that Rob Kelley did in Week 7 and could see a bigger role in the running game. Thompson should be considered at least a flex option in all leagues because of his role in the passing game and can be a low-end No. 2 back in point-per-reception leagues.

Redskins | Chris Thompson fully practices

Wed, 25 Oct 2017 13:43:04 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson (toe) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Amazingly, Thompson leads Washington in both rushing yards (213) and receiving yards (366). His 366 yards through the air are already a career high. He also leads the team in rushing touchdowns (2) and receiving touchdowns (3). Needless to say, he has turned into a must start, particularly in PPR leagues, no matter what the matchup is.
