New England Patriots WR Aaron Dobson (foot) has been ruled out for Week 13 against the Houston Texans after missing practice all week. He has 35 catches, 492 yards and four touchdowns in his rookie season. WR Kenbrell Thompkins (31 catches, 450 yards, four touchdowns) will likely replace Dobson in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Thompkins is a flex option in deeper leagues. Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman take valuable looks away from Thompkins.

Mon, 04 Nov 2013 10:38:38 -0800
New England Patriots WR Aaron Dobson received all of the snaps over an inactive WR Kenbrell Thompkins in the Week 9 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fantasy Tip: Dobson caught five passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns and was targeted nine times by Brady. With Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski back in the lineup and healthy, it makes the Patriots passing attack very dynamic. Dobson should be owned in all deeper leagues and is a valuable commodity now that New England is clicking on all cylinders.

New England Patriots WR Kenbrell Thompkins (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 4, and is listed as questionable for Week 5.

Sun, 22 Sep 2013 08:40:35 -0700
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (groin) has been declared inactive for the team's Week 3 game.
Fantasy Tip: It appears Amendola may miss several weeks because of his groin injury. Julian Edelman probably will be the team's No. 1 receiver Week 3 with Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson also receiving targets at wide receiver. Edelman should start for most fantasy teams with the other two being flex options.
Mon, 16 Sep 2013 10:09:31 -0700
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady said he and his wide receivers need to have better execution in Week 3 after they had more punts (11) than first downs (9) in their 13-10 Week 2 win over the New York Jets. The Patriots converted just four of 18 third downs and Brady completed less than 50 percent of his passes while being out of sync at times with rookie WRs Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins. Both wideouts were targeted a combined 17 times but hauled in only five balls.
Fantasy Tip: Until Danny Amendola (hip) returns to action in a month or so, Dobson and Thompkins are worthy of starting in deeper leagues. Dobson may have the edge over Thompkins in terms of chemistry and trust with Brady after last week, though.
Thu, 12 Sep 2013 15:51:19 -0700
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (groin) is expected to miss two to six weeks because of his groin injury.
Fantasy Tip: Amendola has dealt with injuries in the past, so this should not be a total surprise. Julian Edelman, Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson should become more involved in the passing, which will increase their fantasy value. The Patriots could also lean on their running game more with Stevan Ridley getting most of that work.
Tue, 10 Sep 2013 12:50:17 -0700
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman is expected to be the top receiver in Week 2 against the New York Jets with WR Danny Amendola (groin) not expected to play. Edelman played in 83 of the team's 94 offensive snaps in Week 1. WR Kenbrell Thompkins will line up on the outside opposite of Edelman. WR Josh Boyce didn't register a catch on two targets last week, but his role will increase with Amendola out. Boyce can excel in short-area routes because of his speed and pass-catching skills. WR Aaron Dobson (hamstring) is limited with a hamstring ailment.
Fantasy Tip: Edelman should be the top waiver priority for those looking for another receiver this week. He should get plenty of looks from Tom Brady without Amendola around. Thompkins could be a solid flex play in deeper leagues, too.
Tue, 10 Sep 2013 08:36:54 -0700
A source said New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (groin) is "almost certain" to miss the Week 2 game.
Fantasy Tip: The Patriots offense is in disarray with Shane Vereen (wrist) also out and Zach Sudfeld (hamstring) hurting. Stevan Ridley, Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins are going to have a lot of pressure on them to produce. Tom Brady's value takes a big hit this week.
Fri, 23 Aug 2013 13:10:38 -0700
New England Patriots WRs Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson continued to gain chemistry with QB Tom Brady in the team's preseason loss Thursday, Aug. 22. Thompkins had eight catches for 116 yards and consistently beat the Detroit Lions' cornerbacks. Thompkins stepped up with WR Danny Amendola (undisclosed) not playing. Thompkins ran clean and precise routes and showed reliable hands. He could still use some work on his run blocking, but Thompkins looks to be the No. 2 receiver behind Amendola.
Dobson has had an underwhelming preseason, but he had his best game Thursday, catching four passes for 50 yards. He's having trouble with coverage at the line of scrimmage and has struggled to create separation in space. However, he's running crisp routes, but has had issues with using his strength against cornerbacks. Dobson's chemistry with Brady continues to grow, though.
Fantasy Tip: Thompkins has passed Dobson on the depth chart with a better preseason to this point and should be the one you target with a late sleeper pick to round out your wide receiver core. We've seen it countless times before: Brady's expertise making a young, inexperienced wideout shine.
Fri, 23 Aug 2013 13:03:59 -0700
New England Patriots WR Kenbrell Thompkins could start opposite WR Danny Amendola Week 1 because of how well he has performed during training camp and the preseason. He caught eight catches for 116 yards in the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 22, and has shown quick feet at the line of scrimmage as well as separation with his strength.
Fantasy Tip: Thompkins has worked his way to near the top of the depth chart during training camp and appears to be on his way to a starting job. Owners should consider Thompkins a risky No. 4 fantasy wide receiver because he has not played in any regular season games at this point.
Wed, 21 Aug 2013 08:30:44 -0700
New England Patriots WR Kenbrell Thompkins has played 29 snaps in two preseason games with QB Tom Brady. That is second-most on the team. It is unclear if Thompkins has the leg up for the No. 2 job, or whether the team is simply using the rookie to determine what they have in Thompkins.
