Mon, 16 Apr 2018 07:40:34 -0700
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson will be released Monday, April 16, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson had a so-so year, but he rushed for a career-high 1,007 yards, with three scores and a 28-224-1 receiving line. He'll be in the RB3 mix in fantasy in the right situation.

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson said he will be at the start of the offseason workout program Monday, April 16, and he is using the rumors that he was being traded as motivation.

Broncos | Recent C.J. Anderson trade nixed by Miami? |
Tue, 10 Apr 2018 09:04:29 -0700
The Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins reportedly had a verbal agreement in place to trade RB C.J. Anderson for OT Ja'Wuan James before the Dolphins "surprisingly nixed" the deal, according to Denver 7's Troy Renck.
Fantasy Tip: It seems as though Dolphins head coach Adam Gase, who was Denver's offensive coordinator for the first two seasons of Anderson's career, has tried to get him to Miami in each of the three years he has been in charge. The report confirms the Dolphins have doubts about committing to Kenyan Drake full-time and the Broncos wouldn't mind parting with Anderson to get out from under the $4.5 million they will open him for the upcoming season.

Dolphins | Miami not pursuing C.J. Anderson |
Wed, 28 Mar 2018 15:49:13 -0700
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson is no longer a trade target for the Miami Dolphins since the Dolphins signed Frank Gore.
Fantasy Tip: Gore likely will be sharing playing time with Kenyan Drake next season and should see a decent amount of touches. He can be a No. 3 or No. 4 running back in standard leagues. Anderson is still with the Broncos at this point, but his status is uncertain. He can be a No. 2 or No. 3 fantasy back if he starts for the Broncos.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson's future uncertain |
Sun, 25 Mar 2018 19:06:24 -0700
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson "may or may not" be back with the team in 2018, general manager John Elway said Sunday, March 25.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson has RB2 potential if he remains atop the depth chart in Denver's backfield, but his value could drop if he lands elsewhere or if the Broncos add another back early in the draft.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson not expected to be cut |
Mon, 12 Mar 2018 09:52:49 -0700
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson is not expected to be released at this point, but the Broncos are willing to listen to trade offers for Anderson.
Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to monitor the situation because Anderson may not be with the Broncos next season. He probably will be the starting running back no matter where he plays in 2018 and can be a No. 2 fantasy running back.

Dolphins | C.J. Anderson of interest to Miami? |
Mon, 19 Feb 2018 15:33:10 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson could be pursued by the Miami Dolphins again if he were to be released by the Broncos. Dolphins head coach Adam Gase and new running backs coach Eric Studesville both coached Anderson in Denver and Miami gave Anderson an offer just two years ago before it was matched by the Broncos.
Fantasy Tip: It's a potentially sensible move, but Anderson needs to be released first. Kenyan Drake would still have the most potential in Miami's backfield, but Anderson would certainly hurt his fantasy ceiling. This is all conjecture at this point, but stay tuned as free agency approaches.

Broncos | Devontae Booker the lead back? |
Sat, 17 Feb 2018 20:00:44 -0800
The Denver Broncos are hoping RB Devontae Booker emerges as the No. 1 running back in 2018, according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com, and Legwold believes RB C.J. Anderson may not be back with the team.
Fantasy Tip: Booker has flashed some potential with limited touches, and his fantasy value would receive a big boost if Anderson ends up elsewhere next season.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson a bright spot |
Sun, 24 Dec 2017 18:59:29 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson rushed 16 times for 88 yards and a touchdown and caught seven passes for 45 yards in a 27-11 loss to the Washington Redskins in Week 16.
Fantasy Tip: It was an ugly performance from the Denver offense as a whole, but Anderson has strung together back-to-back solid outings. He should be a RB2 against the Kansas City Chiefs in the season finale.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson wears down Colts |
Thu, 14 Dec 2017 21:10:46 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson logged 30 carries for 158 yards during the team's Week 15 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Both totals represented season highs.
Fantasy Tip: It's been a mostly disappointing season for Anderson, who last topped 100 yards back in Week 2, but he came up big for owners that called his number in the playoffs. He could return value again next week with extra rest against an injury-plagued Washington Redskins squad playing out the string.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson runs 22 times |
Sun, 10 Dec 2017 19:36:39 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson rushed 22 times for 48 yards and caught two passes for 25 yards in a 23-0 win over the New York Jets in Week 14.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson appears to be back on top of the running back committee, but even with more carries, he hasn't been posting huge state lines. He is a flex option going forward.

Sun, 03 Dec 2017 18:27:42 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson rushed 15 times for 67 yards and caught four passes for 43 yards in a 35-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 13.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson logged 19 touches compared to just two for Devontae Booker, and it looks like Anderson's role as the lead back is safe for now. Consider him a flex option against the New York Jets in Week 14.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson has better outlook |
Thu, 30 Nov 2017 08:18:45 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson has a good matchup against the Miami Dolphins in Week 13. The Dolphins have allowed the third-most points per game to running backs the last five weeks.
Fantasy Tip: For those Anderson owners, you're probably at wits end following his 12-yard performance last week. However, if you're chomping at the bit for him to return to your lineup, he's a flex option this week.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson manages 12 yards |
Sun, 26 Nov 2017 19:21:40 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson rushed five times for 12 yards in a 21-14 loss to the Oakland Raiders in Week 12.
Fantasy Tip: Falling behind 21-0 didn't help Anderson and the running game, but he is also splitting time with Devontae Booker and has rushed for less than 40 yards in three of the last four games. At best, Anderson is a desperation flex play.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson held in check |
Sun, 19 Nov 2017 20:38:49 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson rushed 13 times for 37 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 19 yards in a 20-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson split carries with Devontae Booker, and his time as the workhorse in Denver's backfield seems to have passed. He can still be a useful flex play, but his upside is capped.

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson had 10 rushes for 54 yards and a one-yard reception in the Week 10 loss to the New England Patriots.
Fantasy Tip: The Broncos got blown out, and Anderson's touches suffered. He remains an RB2 option against the Cincinnati Bengals next week.

Fri, 10 Nov 2017 08:49:14 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (ankle, illness) returned to practice Friday, Nov. 10.
Fantasy Tip: The New England Patriots don't provide him with a good matchup this week. Anderson hasn't been too productive in the last four games, and he might be bench fodder unless you're covering bye weeks.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson sits out practice Thursday |
Thu, 09 Nov 2017 16:05:43 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (ankle, illness) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 9.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson got in a limited practice on Wednesday, so he should be fine for Sunday evening's tilt with the Patriots. He was likely just being rested here, especially since he didn't have an illness yesterday. Even so, he's a tough start right now, as Denver has begun to use all three of their main running backs in a committee, which severely caps Anderson's ceiling.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson out sick Thursday |
Thu, 09 Nov 2017 11:50:16 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (illness) was not able to practice Thursday, Nov. 9.
Fantasy Tip: It's unclear what the illness is, but Anderson should be better in time to play Sunday night. He has struggled of late, though, averaging only 38 yards in his last four games. Meanwhile, Devontae Booker has somewhat come on recently and has dug in to Anderson's playing time. Anderson can't be viewed as more than a flex.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson limited in practice |
Wed, 08 Nov 2017 16:01:29 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (ankle) was limited in practice on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson will be facing the 25th-ranked rushing defense, so he should have a bounce-back game after a couple of mediocre performances. However, opposing defenses have been daring the Broncos to pass, stacking men in the box, limiting the effectiveness of the run game. Until the passing game can open things up, it will be tough sledding on the ground for Anderson and company.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson goes nowhere fast |
Sun, 05 Nov 2017 17:59:03 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson rushed nine times for 13 yards in Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles and he did not have a catch on his only target.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson fired out of the chute, but shoddy offensive line play and struggles under center has forced defenses to stack the box, daring the Broncos to pass. That hasn't been working and Anderson has been struggling. He averaged 4.5 yards per game with 73 rushes, 330 yards and a score during the Broncos' 3-1 start. During the team's four-game skid, he has rushed 43 times for just 152 yards, no scores and 3.5 yards per run.

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 09:37:49 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in Week 9 but is considered probable to return.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson likely will return to the game at some point, so owners should not worry much about the injury. He is a solid No. 2 fantasy running back when he is healthy.

Broncos | Fine MNF showing for C.J. Anderson |
Mon, 30 Oct 2017 21:13:43 -0700
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson compiled 78 yards on 15 carries in the team's Week 8 defeat Monday, Oct. 30, against the Kansas City Chiefs. He also added one reception for no gain.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson is having a fine season in 2017, but the thing that's holding him back from the upper echelon of running backs is his lack of touchdowns, boasting only two scores (one rushing, one receiving) on the year. It's only going to get tougher from here on out, as his quarterback has struggled mightily over the last few weeks, which limits what the rest of the offense can contribute. He's still worth plugging in as an RB2, however.

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson rushed 10 times for 44 yards in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Chargers while adding one catch for 17 yards on two targets.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson started out on fire, but opposing defenses are starting to stack the box and dare Trevor Siemian to beat them through the air. It's bad news for Anderson and the Denver backs, as the passing game has yet to earn that respect and open things up on the ground.

Mon, 16 Oct 2017 05:08:40 -0700
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson gained just 17 yards on nine carries in a Week 6 loss to the New York Giants.
Fantasy Tip: No one saw this game coming, and it was a huge disappointment for Anderson owners. Keep him in your lineup as an RB2, however, because the Los Angeles Chargers are up next and Anderson is bound to rebound.

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson carried 20 times for 95 yards and caught four passes for 17 yards in a 16-10 win over the Oakland Raiders Sunday, Oct. 1.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson has topped 80 rushing yards in three of the four games this season, and he continues to dominant the backfield touches. Denver has bye in Week 5, but Anderson should be a solid RB2 against the New York Giants in Week 6.

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson rushed eight times for 36 yards in the Week 3 loss in Buffalo and he added two catches for seven yards on his only two targets.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson was a bust for his fantasy owners after a couple of solid performances to open the season. He'll look to get back on track in Week 4 against the Raiders.

Sat, 23 Sep 2017 21:18:30 -0700
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson said he is in the best shape of his life thanks to an improved training program designed to help him stay healthy. "I am doing some things, recovery-wise, to keep my body fresh and to keep my mind fresh," Anderson said.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson is off to a strong start, and he had the most carries of any back through the first two weeks. Locked into a workhorse role, consider him a high-end RB2 against Buffalo in Week 3.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson rolls for 118 yards, TD |

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson rushed 25 times for 118 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys and he added 36 yards on three catches with a score.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson has re-emerged as a fantasy beast so far in 2017, averaging 99.5 rushing yards per game. After a torn meniscus ended his 2016 season prematurely, he appears to be fresh and better than ever. He is a must-start fantasy option heading into Week 3 in Buffalo.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson has 80 yards rushing |
Tue, 12 Sep 2017 03:56:34 -0700
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson ran for 80 yards on 20 carries as his team won, 24-21, over the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday, Sept. 11.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson looked good in his first go-round of the season, even though he did not score. With Jamaal Charles looking healthy as well, it looks like Anderson is an RB2 whose reps could be split. How much so remains to be seen. Anderson is worth starting in fantasy leagues, and as always analyze matchups.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson in great shape |
Fri, 28 Jul 2017 09:08:54 -0700
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson is in his best shape "in three or four years," according to head coach Vance Joseph.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson's devoted his offseason to improving his longevity, which has been an issue considering he has been unable to play 16 games in any of his four seasons. With Devontae Booker recovering from a fractured wrist and Jamaal Charles limited early in camp, Anderson had an opportunity to put some distance between himself and competition over the next week or so. Given his track record, Anderson should be viewed as a midrange fantasy RB2.

Broncos | Denver plans on using RB committee in '17 |
Mon, 22 May 2017 21:36:51 -0700
Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph is planning on using a running-back-by-committee system in the upcoming season. "You need two or three guys that can carry the load," Joseph said. "It is no longer a one-guy position. I'm excited to have Jamaal (Charles), C.J. (Anderson), (Devontae Booker), even De'Angelo (Henderson) in the mix there. It's a good group. It's going to be competitive, and that's the way it should be."
Fantasy Tip: Anderson figures to lead the way throughout the campaign, but it looks like he may not get as much work as his fantasy owners will desire, especially since he's coming back from a significant injury. With Charles and Booker also in town, it looks like this will be a tricky situation to deal with in 2017.

Broncos | Open competition at RB in Denver |
Fri, 12 May 2017 12:14:40 -0700
Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph told reporters Friday, May 12, there will be competition for the starting running back job in training camp, presumably between C.J. Anderson, Jamaal Charles and Devontae Booker.
Fantasy Tip: Joseph may actually be leaning toward a committee approach based on his comments Friday. Assuming Charles is anywhere close to his former self, he should be considered the leader, although his recent injury woes makes him a poor bet to hold up all season. Anderson is most likely going to be the most valuable player in this bunch in 2017, but he has yet to prove he can handle a heavy workload for a full season. As a result, none of these backs may be worth anything more than flex consideration in 2017.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson full go |
Mon, 10 Apr 2017 12:14:53 -0700
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (knee) is a full participant as organized team activities commence Monday, April 10, according to head coach Vance Joseph. Anderson has been recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury and subsequent surgery since last season.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson has had plenty of time to recover, but the Broncos may still take it somewhat easy with their expected starting running back. If Anderson comes out of the offseason at 100 percent health, he's an RB2 consideration for the 2017 season.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson might not be ready for OTAs |
Mon, 03 Apr 2017 20:19:46 -0700
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (knee) might not be ready for the start of organized team activities Monday, April 10, according to head coach Vance Joseph. "If he's working in OTAs in the middle part of it, we'll be fine with him in the fall," Joseph conceded.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson lasted just seven games this past season after sustaining a knee injury in late-October. Previously, the 26-year-old had established himself nicely as Denver's starting running back, averaging almost five yards per carry in each of the two prior campaigns. Depending on where he's at health-wise entering 2017, Anderson should at least be able to offer RB2 value.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson should be cleared soon |
Mon, 27 Feb 2017 13:33:48 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (knee) is expected to be cleared from his knee surgery in two weeks, according to sources.
Fantasy Tip: Just how involved Anderson will be in offseason activities remains to be seen, but he should be at least close to full go by the time offseason activities commence. Anderson figures to the Broncos' main running back again this season, but he'll need to beat out Devontae Booker and possibly others this offseason. If he does retain the starting position, he'll be an RB2 consideration.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson expects to be cleared soon |
Wed, 01 Feb 2017 16:29:29 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (knee) said he has been running at full speed and expects to be cleared for all football-related activities later this month. He said he has not make any cuts while running yet but is not feeling much pain.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson was limited to seven games because of the injury and finished the season with 437 yards and four touchdowns. He may be part of a committee at running back for the Broncos in 2017 but could be the main option in that committee. He probably should be considered a No. 2 or No. 3 running back in fantasy next season.

Mon, 09 Jan 2017 16:29:32 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (knee) has started running on a treadmill and believes he will be ready for the start of training camp.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson probably will not do much during the offseason workouts but should enter training camp as the starting running back. He should receive most of the work at the position in 2017 and can be a No. 2 or No. 3 running back in fantasy leagues.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson not likely to return |
Wed, 21 Dec 2016 20:15:33 -0800
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (knee) is not likely to return from the Reserve/Injured list this season, head coach Gary Kubiak said Wednesday, Dec. 21. "I had a good sit-down with C.J. yesterday. He's doing pretty good. The plan is for him to maybe start running in the next two weeks," Kubiak said. "I'd say he's probably on course (to return) sometime in February."
Fantasy Tip: Anderson was dropped from plenty of fantasy rosters when he was originally hurt near the end of October. For those picking him up recently, it appears you can safely drop him and add someone else who will help.

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (knee) has shed his knee brace in his recovery from knee surgery, according to a video he posted on social media Monday, Dec. 12.

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (knee) is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a torn meniscus.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson is currently on the Reserve/Injured list but could be activated near the end of the regular season. Owners should keep an eye on the situation, but he may not be valuable in some leagues if he returns Week 16 or Week 17. Devontae Booker will continue to be the starting running back and can be a No. 2 running back in most leagues.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson placed on IR |
Fri, 28 Oct 2016 13:57:15 -0700
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Friday, Oct. 28.
Fantasy Tip: Anderson won't be able to return for eight weeks, effectively putting him out for the rest of the fantasy season. The coast is now clear for Devontae Booker to become an every-week RB1, although there is a strong possibility new backup Kapri Bibbs will steal enough touches to merit a stash in deeper leagues.
