Red Sox | Eduardo Rodriguez to make rehab start

Sun, 22 May 2016 09:07:44 -0700

Boston Red Sox SP Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) threw a successful bullpen session Sunday, May 22, and will make a rehab start for Class AAA Pawtucket Tuesday, May 24.

Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez went 10-6 with a 3.85 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 7.2 K/9 ratio during his rookie campaign in 2015, so he should have a guaranteed rotation spot waiting for him once his rehab assignment is over. He has tremendous upside and should be stashed in all fantasy formats.

Red Sox | Eduardo Rodriguez has a setback

Tue, 17 May 2016 11:34:49 -0700

Boston Red Sox SP Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) is dealing with knee soreness and will miss his rehab start Thursday, May 19, according to manager John Farrell.

Fantasy Tip: E-Rod really impressed in his rookie season with Boston last year, going 10-6 with a 3.85 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 7.2 K/9. His ceiling is very high and he'll have a rotation spot waiting for him whenever he can get healthy. Be patient, but Rodriguez should be stashed just about everywhere.

Fantasy Tip: Of the two, Rodriguez is the player to stash if he is available in your league.

Red Sox | Eduardo Rodriguez to rehab Friday

Tue, 10 May 2016 13:53:25 -0700

Boston Red Sox SP Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) is scheduled to make another rehab start for Class AAA Pawtucket Friday, May 13, and manager John Farrell said Rodriguez is in "end of spring training" form. Rodriguez's velocity was down a bit in his last start, but his latest bullpen session was described as "powerful."

Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez impressed with a 7.2 K/9 in his rookie season for Boston last year while going 10-6 with a 3.85 ERA. He has tons of upside and should be stashed everywhere because of his potential. However, because he's not quite up to full speed yet, you'll want to temper your expectations initially and pick your spots with him.

Red Sox | No decision on Eduardo Rodriguez

Mon, 09 May 2016 13:42:46 -0700

It's unknown when Boston Red Sox SP Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) will be activated from the disabled list for his next start. SP Sean O'Sullivan is starting against the Oakland Athletics Tuesday, May 10.

Fantasy Tip: The lefty Rodriguez has big-time potential. He showed us a glimpse with a 10-6 record, 3.85 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 7.2 strikeouts per nine innings in his rookie year in 2015. Rodriguez should be owned at least in deep mixed and AL-only leagues, so scoop him up if he's still out there. O'Sullivan is just making a spot start and is a desperation play in daily formats tomorrow.

Red Sox | Eduardo Rodriguez improves

Tue, 03 May 2016 18:56:13 -0700

Boston Red Sox SP Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) made his second rehab start Tuesday, May 3, for Class AAA Pawtucket. He went six innings and surrendered three runs on five hits, striking out three and walking none.

Fantasy Tip: Nothing spectacular or anything but certainly a step in the right direction, as Rodriguez looked better here than he did in his first rehab outing last week. He's coming off a fine rookie season that saw him go 10-6 with a 3.85 ERA in 21 starts, and considering he's one of Boston's better pitching prospects, he should be worth a stash in many formats.

Red Sox | Eduardo Rodriguez has first rehab start

Thu, 28 Apr 2016 17:12:56 -0700

Boston Red Sox SP Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) made his first rehab start for Class AAA Pawtucket Thursday, April 28. He went 3 2/3 innings, yielding three runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks. He also struck out two, while throwing 75 pitches, 45 of which for strikes. Rodriguez will get at least one more rehab start, if not two.

Fantasy Tip: The 23-year-old southpaw should be on a lot of people's radars, as he'll have the chance to make a noticeable impact when he's ready to join the Red Sox. In 21 starts as a rookie last season, Rodriguez was 10-6 with a respectable 3.85 ERA. With this year's team, he'll have a legitimate chance to eclipse that win total while contributing fine numbers.
