Red Sox | Eduardo Rodriguez has first rehab start

Thu, 28 Apr 2016 17:12:56 -0700

Boston Red Sox SP Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) made his first rehab start for Class AAA Pawtucket Thursday, April 28. He went 3 2/3 innings, yielding three runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks. He also struck out two, while throwing 75 pitches, 45 of which for strikes. Rodriguez will get at least one more rehab start, if not two.

Fantasy Tip: The 23-year-old southpaw should be on a lot of people's radars, as he'll have the chance to make a noticeable impact when he's ready to join the Red Sox. In 21 starts as a rookie last season, Rodriguez was 10-6 with a respectable 3.85 ERA. With this year's team, he'll have a legitimate chance to eclipse that win total while contributing fine numbers.

Red Sox | Eduardo Rodriguez faces hitters

Mon, 04 Apr 2016 11:05:42 -0700

Boston Red Sox SP Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) threw to hitters in live batting practice Monday, April 4, and he'll repeat the step Thursday, April 7. Rodriguez could pitch in a minor league rehab game early next week, according to manager John Farrell.

Fantasy Tip: Rodriguez will have a rotation spot waiting for him when he's ready to return, possibly later this month. He's a work in progress as a young lefty but has strikeout upside and should remain stashed in deep mixed leagues if you took a late-round flier on him.
