Free-agent FS Deon Grant (Giants) has not retired, and he feels he will be re-signed by the New York Giants sometime during training camp. "This is the first time in three or four years - and this was the longest one - that I can say I came out completely healthy," Grant said. "I revamped everything and my body feels wonderful right now."

Free-agent SS Deon Grant (Giants) was extremely popular in the locker room, and he brought veteran leadership and a calming presence, as well as versatility on the field. For now, the New York Giants appear to intent on seeing what they have heading into training camp, but the possibility still exists that Grant could return at some point.

New York Giants SS Deon Grant (head) left the Divisional Round playoff game against the Green Bay Packers Sunday, Jan. 15, due to a head injury. He went to the locker room, passed concussion tests, and was able to return to the game.

Grant, Umenyiora and Webster were limited in practice Friday, Jan. 13, while the others practiced in full.

New York Giants SS Deon Grant will wear the helmet with radio communication in Week 12 in place of LB Michael Boley (hamstring). Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell said he wants Grant to wear the helmet because he is on the field a majority of the time. It is not known if Boley will wear the helmet once he is able to return.

Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell said Thursday, Nov. 3, that the team would wait until Saturday, Nov. 5, to decide Amukamara's status.

The Giants are allowing the fifth-most rushing yards per game (130.1), and they're tied for seventh in most rushing yards per attempt (4.7). SS Deon Grant, who has been victimized for taking some bad angles, also didn't see the field much in Week 8.

New York Giants FS Antrel Rolle worked at cornerback in the preseason game against the New York Jets Monday, Aug. 29, and he defended WR Santonio Holmes a few times in the slot. "It's my first week at it (this preseason)," Rolle said. "It's going to take a little while to get comfortable at it. Nickel is nothing new to my game. I've been playing it pretty much my entire career. Just to get back in the groove and the feel of things and understand my assignments and adjustments. I'll be good." Ss Deon Grant and Kenny Phillips were at safety with Rolle moving to corner.

Updating a previous item, The Sports Network reports the Seattle Seahawks announced that S Deon Grant (wrist) was scheduled to undergo wrist surgery Thursday, Jan. 7. Grant was to have a torn ligament reconstructed in his left wrist. He is expected to be fully recovered by late April.
