Arizona Cardinals RB Stepfan Taylor worked with the first-team offense in place of RB Andre Ellington (neck) Tuesday, July 29. Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com believes the move means that Taylor is ahead of RB Jonathan Dwyer in the battle for the No. 2 RB job.
Fantasy Tip: Should Ellington go down with an injury during the year or prove unable to handle the bulk of the carries, it looks like Taylor could be the back to grab. Keep his name in mind heading into the season.

Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington (neck) is not participating in practice Tuesday, July 29.
Fantasy Tip: Obviously something to keep an eye on moving forward, check back later when there is more information on the extent of the injury.

Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington is ready to be the bell cow in the offense, according to head coach Bruce Arians. The big thing for Ellington will be his development as a pass catcher.
Fantasy Tip: Ellington has the chance to be a solid RB2 in most fantasy leagues, and he will be particularly attractive in leagues which reward points per reception (PPR).

Arizona Cardinals RB Stepfan Taylor and RB Jonathan Dwyer will both be used to spell RB Andre Ellington this season, according to ESPN.com's Josh Weinfuss.
Fantasy Tip: Unless Taylor or Dwyer can separate and become the clear No. 2 back, it is going to be tough to know which player is worth owning as a potential handcuff to Ellington.
Wed, 28 May 2014 05:43:05 -0700
Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington is expected to receive 25-30 touches per game, according to head coach Bruce Arians.
Fantasy Tip: Ellington should be a solid RB2 and has enhanced value in PPR leagues. With that many touches per game, he could develop into an RB1 before season's end.

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians expanded on how the team plans to use RB Andre Ellington this year at the owners meetings this week. "He is still not a guy who you will pound up the middle 30 times a game and survive," Arians said. "He can run the football 30 times a game if you do it correctly, but you'd rather have him have 10 catches and 20 carries and let Stepfan Taylor or (Jonathan) Dwyer have the rest of the carries pound the rest of the ball up in there."
Fantasy Tip: This much is clear: The Cardinals want Ellington to be their lead back, but like most teams these days, they'll be wary not to overuse him. But Ellington will see plenty of touches each game, probably enough to make him a legitimate RB2 with upside to break out. He's an ideal candidate in PPR formats, too.

Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington has added 10 pounds already this offseason. Head coach Bruce Arians said they want to build the offense around him.
Fantasy Tip: Ellington will likely be Arizona's lead back next season with Rashard Mendenhall expected to depart in free agency. However, Stepfan Taylor should cut into Ellington's touches enough to make him more of an RB2. Ellington will be more valuable in point-per-reception leagues.

Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim is confident in RB Stepfan Taylor as a complement to RB Andre Ellington if impending free-agent RB Rashard Mendenhall leaves in free agency.

Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington (knee) will not require surgery for the knee injury he suffered late in the season. He plans to rehab the injury, and be up to speed when the team returns to practice in the spring. "He is such a mismatch," head coach Bruce Arians said Friday, Jan. 10. "If he is your running back and he's matched up on safeties and linebackers, he can really improve in that area. It's something that he's never done, and he got better and better all year."
Fantasy Tip: Ellington went for more than 1,000 total yards from scrimmage, posting 652 rushing yards and 371 receiving yards in his rookie season. With Arians hinting that Ellington could line up as a receiver, fantasy owners in keeper formats have to be extremely happy. It sounds as if Ellington has a bright future in the Arizona offense, and his role looks to be expanding once he gets healthy.
