The Arizona Diamondbacks reassigned Ps Eric Smith, Chase Anderson, Charles Brewer, Eury De La Rosa, Zeke Spruill, Josh Booty, David Holmberg, Garrett Mock and Bo Schultz, OFs Alfredo Marte and Keon Broxton, SSs Nick Ahmed and Chris Owings, 3B Matt Davidson and C Edward Easley to minor league camp Thursday, March 14.

Arizona Diamondbacks P Zeke Spruill has been compared to free-agent SP Derek Lowe (Indians), possessing a sinking fastball, curve and improving changeup. He spent a full season with Double-A Mississippi with the Atlanta Braves in 2012.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to a deal to acquire 3B Martin Prado, SP Randall Delgado, SS Nick Ahmed, 1B Brandon Drury and P Zeke Spruill for OF Justin Upton and 3B Chris D. Johnson.

Fantasy Tip: We loved Prado's fantasy forecast entering the season, and this move only elevates it. He has hit .319 in 47 career at-bats in Chase Field. He'll be a sneaky option at third base because he won't hit for a lot of power, but he could contend for the batting title. Chase Field's hitter-friendly confines, and the Arizona heat could help Prado hit 15 homers. Look for him in the early middle rounds of drafts.

The Atlanta Braves are likely to include SP Julio Teheran in any deal to acquire Arizona Diamondbacks OF Justin Upton. At least one other Atlanta pitching prospect, such as Ps Sean Gilmartin or Zeke Spruill, will need to be sent to Arizona, too. SS Nick Ahmed, could also interest the D-backs.
