The Miami Dolphins want to have offset language in first-round draft choice DE Dion Jordan's contract when he signs it, which would reduce the financial hit if he is cut. The two sides are hopeful a deal could be reached before the start of training camp.

Miami Dolphins DL Jared Odrick said Tuesday, May 14, that he doesn't view the selection of DE Dion Jordan as a threat to his job. "None whatsoever," Odrick said. "I plan on being a solid, consistent contributor to this defense for many years to come."
Fantasy Tip: The team can play Odrick and Jordan together with Randy Starks, Olivier Vernon and Cameron Wake on some passing downs, and Jordan can also be used at linebacker too, while Odrick can also play defensive tackle and move inside on passing downs. The Dolphins defense will be a solid No. 1 fantasy option heading into the 2013 season.

Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin said there is no timetable for DE Dion Jordan's (shoulder) return. "He's going to get himself well as quickly and completely as he possibly can, whenever that is," Philbin said. "And when the medical people deem that he's healthy, he will be joining us on a full-time basis."

The Miami Dolphins are toying with the idea of DE Dion Jordan playing on their special teams units this upcoming season; however, his role on defense is also up in the air as the team starts its rookie minicamp Friday, May 3. General Manager Jeff Ireland said the team is going to take some time to figure out how to best deploy Jordan and that playing him at linebacker isn't out of the question.

Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin said he is uncertain at this point if he wants DE Dion Jordan to add some bulk this offseason. "We've got to get our hands on him a little bit (and) work with him a little bit to find out what is his ideal weight and those type of things," Philbin said. "I'm not going to sit here and say that we want him to be 265 pounds. We'll see. Maybe his body isn't going to function and do some of the things he can at that (weight). He may be able to."
