Bears | Marquess Wilson placed on PUP list

Wed, 27 Jul 2016 14:21:48 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (foot) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Wednesday, July 27. Wilson reported to training camp with a walking boot on his broken foot.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson broke the foot during minicamp and there is no official timetable on when he will be able to return. He could have had a chance to be the No. 3 receiver this season but probably will drop on the depth chart. Owners on most fantasy leagues can avoid Wilson in their drafts.

Bears | Marquess Wilson could start on PUP list

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 13:04:34 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (foot) is expected to begin the regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. Wilson would not be eligible to return until Week 6 if he is placed on the PUP list to start the season. WRs Josh Bellamy and Cameron Meredith were the first two names mentioned by Biggs who could play more if Wilson is sidelined.

Fantasy Tip: Alshon Jeffery and Kevin White will take most of the targets in Chicago's offense anyway, and TE Zach Miller should see a lot of action, too. No one behind Jeffery and White on the Bears' wide receiver depth chart is worth serious fantasy consideration.

Bears | Marquess Wilson breaks foot again

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 10:45:03 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (foot) re-fractured his foot, and he'll undergo surgery next week.

Fantasy Tip: The injury will likely cost Wilson part of the 2016 season, and Eddie Royal or Deonte Thompson should see larger roles. Neither possess enough luster to warrant a WR5 flyer unless something changes in camp. Wilson was a fringe WR5 flyer that can go undrafted for now.

Bears | Marquess Wilson leaves early

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 17:48:49 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (undisclosed) left minicamp early Tuesday, June 14. Head coach John Fox did not disclosed if Wilson had suffered an injury.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson is only worth a deep flier currently in fantasy drafts as he will at least be the No. 3 wide receiver behind Alshon Jeffery and Kevin White this year.

Bears | Marquess Wilson had surgery

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 12:05:58 -0800

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (foot) underwent surgery on his broken foot, according to head coach John Fox. Wilson was placed on the Reserve/Injured list last week.

Fantasy Tip: With Wilson out, Eddie Royal could see more targets, assuming he returns again this season. Alshon Jeffery is still the Bears' main passing threat, but Royal and Zach Miller are also still on the fantasy football radar, especially Miller with Martellus Bennett out for the season.

Bears | Marquess Wilson goes to IR

Sat, 12 Dec 2015 10:44:41 -0800

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (foot) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Dec. 12.

Fantasy Tip: It's all about Alshon Jeffery ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) now in the Bears' passing game. With Wilson and Martellus Bennett on IR and with Eddie Royal hampered, Jeffery and Matt Forte ($7,200, 14.4%) should continue to see the bulk of targets in Chicago's passing attack. They are both high-end starts against the Washington Redskins this week.

Bears | Marquess Wilson ruled out

Fri, 11 Dec 2015 10:30:28 -0800

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (foot) has been ruled out for Week 14 against the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Tip: With Wilson out and Eddie Royal and Zach Miller questionable, Alshon Jeffery ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) becomes a much safer daily selection, especially since Washington's secondary has been their weakness this year.

Bears | Marquess Wilson sitting out

Thu, 10 Dec 2015 11:23:37 -0800

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (foot) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) hasn't practiced this week and doesn't seem likely to play again this weekend. Stay away from him on FantasyScore.

Bears | Marquess Wilson unable to practice

Wed, 09 Dec 2015 19:42:10 -0800

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (foot) was unable to practice Wednesday, Dec. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore if he is unable to return to a full practice by Friday and/or he is listed as questionable or worse for Sunday's action.

Bears | Marquess Wilson sits out

Wed, 09 Dec 2015 11:19:30 -0800

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (foot) is out of practice Wednesday, Dec. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) could be a low-end flyer on FantasyScore against the Washington Redskins if he were to suit up.

Bears | Marquess Wilson out for Week 13

Fri, 04 Dec 2015 11:37:14 -0800

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (foot) has been ruled out for Week 13.

Fantasy Tip: TE Martellus Bennett ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) should be an attractive option against the San Francisco 49ers on FantasyScore. The matchup isn't great, but the injuries to the position league-wide and the extra looks he should receive boost him up a bit.

Bears | Marquess Wilson out Thursday

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 11:30:01 -0800

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (foot) is out of practice Thursday, Dec. 3, with a foot injury that head coach John Fox said occurred on the last play of practice Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has a decent matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, but it's safe to assume he's iffy for Week 13. Look elsewhere for a basement flyer on FantasyScore.

Bears | Marquess Wilson not on injury report

Wed, 25 Nov 2015 13:10:57 -0800

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (groin) was not listed on the Bears' injury report after fully practicing Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Wilson ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) will be able to play tomorrow night against the Green Bay Packers. Alshon Jeffery is questionable, but he is expected to play. Eddie Royal is out, though, so Wilson should be Chicago's No. 2 wide receiver.

Bears | Marquess Wilson a full participant

Tue, 24 Nov 2015 13:49:21 -0800

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (groin) practiced in full Tuesday, Nov. 24, after being limited Monday, Nov. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson's ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) daily value in Week 12 against the Green Bay Packers will largely depend on whether Alshon Jeffery returns to play. If Jeffery misses a second straight game, Wilson will be a prime value target by daily gamers.

Bears | Alshon Jeffery, Marquess Wilson limited

Mon, 23 Nov 2015 13:50:14 -0800

Chicago Bears WRs Alshon Jeffery (groin) and Marquess Wilson (groin) were both limited in practice Monday, Nov. 23. The Bears didn't actually practice Monday, so their designations are an estimation.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery missed Week 11 against the Denver Broncos, and his status is up in the air once again on a short week against the Green Bay Packers. If he sits out another contest, Wilson will once again be a popular sleeper pick on FantasyScore in a game in which the Bears will likely be throwing often.

Bears | Marquess Wilson shines in Week 5

Sun, 11 Oct 2015 17:26:03 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson had eight catches for 85 yards and a touchdown in an 18-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: With Alshon Jeffery and Eddie Royal sidelined, Wilson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) was the leading receiver for the Bears. Until Chicago's receiving corps is healthy, Wilson could be a sneaky source of cap relief at FantasyScore.

Bears | Marquess Wilson should suit up

Fri, 25 Sep 2015 11:56:02 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (shoulder) practiced in full Friday, Sept. 25, and is listed as probable for Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will see starter's repetitions in Chicago's offense with Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) out, but you should look to ignore him in daily formats with Jimmy Clausen slinging passes this weekend against the feared Seattle defense.

Bears | Marquess Wilson to receive start

Fri, 25 Sep 2015 10:46:40 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson will receive the start in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks with WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) out.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Eddie Royal ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) will be starters Sunday but are weak plays against a Seattle defense getting Kam Chancellor back. Also, Jimmy Clausen is starting under center for Chicago with Jay Cutler (hamstring) hurt.

Bears | Eddie Royal, Marquess Wilson limited

Thu, 24 Sep 2015 15:33:41 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Eddie Royal (back, hip) and WR Marquess Wilson (shoulder) were limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Royal ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) and Wilson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) could be the starting receivers against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3 if Alshon Jeffery is not able to play. Neither player is a great fantasy option because of Seattle's defense and because the Bears probably will be using their backup quarterback.

Bears | Marquess Wilson a limited participant

Wed, 23 Sep 2015 16:42:03 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) hasn't done enough to warrant playing him. Plus, Jay Cutler is out and the Bears are facing a tough defense on the road.

Bears | Eddie Royal, Marquess Wilson to see more work

Sun, 20 Sep 2015 08:01:57 -0700

Chicago Bears WRs Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson will be the primary wide receivers for the Bears in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals with WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) out. RB Matt Forte will also be counted to carry a big workload.

Fantasy Tip: Royal ($2,800, 5.6% of cap), Wilson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Forte ($8,000, 16.0% of cap) should all receive a fantasy boost this week with Jeffery out. Forte becomes a pretty safe PPR option again, but beware if Royal is covered by talented corner Patrick Peterson. It's hard to ignore the value possibilities of Wilson on FantasyScore as a deep sleeper.

Bears | Three Chicago WRs off injury list

Wed, 16 Sep 2015 15:43:27 -0700

Chicago Bears WRs Alshon Jeffery (calf), Eddie Royal (hip) and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) are not listed on the injury report for the team's Week 2 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Fantasy Tip: All three receivers were able to play in Week 1, so they should be fine for Week 2. Jeffery ($6,600, 13.2% of cap) has the biggest upside among the receivers but is a risky option because of the matchup. Royal ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) and Wilson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) probably should be avoided by owners since they will facing one of the tougher defenses.

Bears | Marquess Wilson takes part in practice

Wed, 16 Sep 2015 14:44:24 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (hamstring) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) recorded 59 yards on two catches in Week 1, with 50 yards coming on one catch. Wilson should continue to see playing time in multiple receiver sets but will be facing a tough Arizona Cardinals defense in Week 2.

Bears | Eddie Royal, Marquess Wilson active

Sun, 13 Sep 2015 09:07:50 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Eddie Royal (hip) and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) are active for the Week 1 game against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: Royal ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) and Wilson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) were considered questionable for the game but both will be on the field against the Packers. Both players should be part of the team's multiple receiver sets, but neither is a must-start option on FantasyScore.

Bears | Eddie Royal, Marquess Wilson questionable

Fri, 11 Sep 2015 11:54:43 -0700

Chicago Bears WRs Eddie Royal (hip) and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) are listed as questionable for Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers. Head coach John Fox is optimistic that both receivers will be able to play this weekend.

Fantasy Tip: With both wideouts expected to suit up, Royal ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is the much better FantasyScore target as a value buy. Alshon Jeffery might be the most limited of this wide receiver trio, and Royal has notable chemistry with Jay Cutler from their days in Denver.

Bears | Eddie Royal, Marquess Wilson limited again

Thu, 10 Sep 2015 15:02:22 -0700

Chicago Bears WRs Eddie Royal (hip) and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) were both limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Sept. 10.

Fantasy Tip: The entire Bears receiving corps is nicked up, and rookie Kevin White may miss the entire season. Still, Alshon Jeffery, Royal and Wilson are all expected to play, although they all might not be 100%. Royal ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is the more attractive flex play on FantasyScore because of his history with Jay Cutler from their days in Denver.

Bears | Two more Chicago WRs limited

Wed, 09 Sep 2015 13:01:09 -0700

Chicago Bears WRs Eddie Royal (hip) and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) were limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Fantasy Tip: The Bears' wide receiver corps is dealing with more than its fair share of injuries. Alshon Jeffery, Royal and Wilson were all limited and Kevin White will be out a few weeks. If Royal ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) and Wilson ($2,000, 4.0%) do play, Royal might be a better option on FantasyScore as he is more likely to be a safety valve for Jay Cutler.

Bears | Marquess Wilson returns

Mon, 07 Sep 2015 09:35:09 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (hamstring) returned to practice Monday, Sept. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) could be a basement flyer on FantasyScore if Alshon Jeffery (calf) is limited in Week 1.

Bears | Marquess Wilson working out

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 15:05:10 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (hamstring) is running routes and catching passes before the final preseason game Thursday, Sept. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson is working his way back from the injury, and his status for Week 1 is uncertain at this point. Wilson could have a bigger role if he is able to play because of the injuries to Alshon Jeffery and Eddie Royal. Owners should wait to see if Wilson is practicing next week before making a decision on him.

Bears | Three Chicago WRs absent

Mon, 31 Aug 2015 11:35:20 -0700

Chicago Bears WRs Alshon Jeffery (calf), Eddie Royal (hip) and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) did not practice Monday, Aug. 31.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery and Wilson have missed several practices in a row now while Royal is dealing with a recent hip injury. It will be promising if they return to practice before the regular season starts. Jeffery, Royal and Wilson should be viewed as a WR1, WR4 and WR5, respectively, in PPR leagues.

Bears | Marquess Wilson misses practice

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 15:06:49 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Aug. 27. He likely will not be able to play in the third preseason game.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson is expected to have a bigger role in the offense this season but has been sidelined by the injury. Wilson could be a late-round option in leagues if he is able to return to the field before the start of the regular season.

Bears | Alshon Jeffery, Marquess Wilson still out

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 12:52:05 -0700

Chicago Bears WRs Alshon Jeffery (calf) and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) were not at practice again Tuesday, Aug. 25. Head coach John Fox reiterated that Jeffery is day-to-day.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery may not see any game action until the final week of the preseason or the first week of the regular season. The promising aspect of his injury is that he shed his walking boot a little over a week ago. He remains in WR1 territory. Wilson is a sleeper, especially with WR Kevin White out a while.

Bears | Alshon Jeffery, Marquess Wilson out

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 11:36:08 -0700

Chicago Bears WRs Alshon Jeffery (calf) and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) did not practice Monday, Aug. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery and Wilson still have a few weeks to recover before the regular season opener. The bigger concern is Jeffery, of course, as he has top-10 WR potential. Wilson is more of a sleeper, but still has decent value. Stay tuned.

Bears | Marquess Wilson's injury not serious

Sun, 23 Aug 2015 06:19:27 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in the second preseason game Saturday, Aug. 22, but head coach John Fox said the injury is not consider serious.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson likely will be at least the No. 3 receiver this season with Kevin White sidelined and could start if Alshon Jeffery is not ready for the start of the season. Wilson could be a late-round option in deeper leagues since he should see regular playing time.

Bears | Marquess Wilson injures leg

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 17:17:29 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson (leg) is having his right leg stretched by the training staff after limping off the field in a preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts Saturday, Aug. 22.

Fantasy Tip: With Brandon Marshall leaving in the offseason and Kevin White dealing with an injury, Wilson should see some steady playing time to start the year. Assuming this injury doesn't turn out to be serious, he is worth taking later in drafts in case he emerges as the No. 2 option opposite Alshon Jeffrey.

Bears | Marquess Wilson proving to be versatile

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 19:58:18 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson can "play all over" the field, according to offensive coordinator Adam Gase.

Fantasy Tip: With Brandon Marshall leaving in the offseason, Wilson has a chance to see some steady playing time in 2015, especially if rookie Kevin White isn't ready to start in Week 1. Wilson could make a nice early-season sleeper if he lines up across from Alshon Jeffrey for a few games, but White will be the receiver to own in the long run.

Bears | CHI needs group effort at WR

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 16:21:53 -0700

The Chicago Bears will be counting on a group effort from WRs Kevin White, Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson to make up for Brandon Marshall's lost production. WR Alshon Jeffery is expected to fully takeover as the No. 1 receiver in Chicago.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery will enter the 2015 season as a top-5 receiver, while White is almost sure to be over drafted in his rookie season. Royal already has some chemistry with Jay Cutler from his time in Denver, and he should be considered as a sleeper heading into drafts.

Bears | Chicago looking for WRs

Fri, 06 Mar 2015 14:33:31 -0800

The Chicago Bears are unlikely to use the seventh overall pick of the NFL Draft on a wide receiver, but the upcoming class of receivers gives them many options to complement WR Alshon Jeffery. They could look to University of Miami WR Phillip Dorsett, who ran a 4.33-second 40-yard dash in the second round. The Bears also hosted free-agent WR Brian Hartline (Dolphins) for a visit this week. After trading WR Brandon Marshall, the current roster features WRs Josh Bellamy, Marc Mariani, Josh Morgan and Marquess Wilson. Jeffery may be moved to the No. 1 receiver role, but he averaged just four catches in the last three games with Marshall injured in 2014.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery should still be fine in Chicago, but Jay Cutler's status with the team may also be in question, further muddling the picture. Jeffery should be a safe top-end WR2, at worst. Counting on him as a top WR1 may be too much, though, since he could struggle to be consistent if the Bears don't give him receiving help around him.

Fri, 05 Dec 2014 12:53:41 -0800

Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson will likely be used to replace WR Brandon Marshall (ribs, lung) on the outside, while WR Josh Morgan will likely move into the slot-receiving role.

Fantasy Tip: Both Wilson and Morgan will be cheap at FantasyScore. Wilson should be the more valuable player for fantasy purposes, but he's nothing more than a flier in very deep leagues and a desperation play at FantasyScore in Week 15 and beyond.
