Cowboys | Questionable tag for Terrance Williams

Sat, 23 Sep 2017 15:10:27 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (ankle) is listed as questionable for the team's Week 3 game.

Fantasy Tip: Williams has recorded 10 catches and 85 yards in the first two games and will continue to start opposite Dez Bryant. Owners in most leagues probably will be able to find better options, but Williams could be a possible flex option in deeper leagues.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams practices Saturday

Sat, 23 Sep 2017 10:09:06 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (ankle) was back at practice Saturday, Sept. 23, putting him on track to play on Monday Night Football versus the Arizona Cardinals to conclude Week 3.

Fantasy Tip: While Williams lacks for consistency in fantasy, he has yet to miss a game over his four-plus year career. With Patrick Peterson likely to shadow Dez Bryant for the bulk of the game, the Cowboys will likely need Williams, Cole Beasley and Jason Witten to do a lot of the heavy lifting in the passing game this week. Nevertheless, Williams is only worth the fantasy start in very deep leagues.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams misses practice Friday

Sat, 23 Sep 2017 06:46:15 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (ankle) was added to the injury report after not practicing Friday, Sept. 22.

Fantasy Tip: Regardless of his availability for Week 3's contest against the Arizona Cardinals, Williams should be nowhere near your fantasy starting lineups. He is arguably the Cowboys' fifth-best option in the passing game right now, behind Dez Bryant, Cole Beasley, Jason Witten and Ezekiel Elliott.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams doesn't do much

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 20:48:01 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams hauled in four balls in Week 2 against the Broncos, but he managed just 17 yards on his five targets.

Fantasy Tip: Williams led the way in Week 1 against the Giants, but his statistics reflected his status on the depth chart better in this one. He is the fourth option in the pass game behind Dez Bryant, Cole Beasley and Jason Witten, and perhaps even fifth behind Ezekiel Elliott. The Cowboys meet the Cardinals in Week 3 on Monday night. Williams is nothing more than a WR5 at this point in most fantasy formats.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams officially active

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 12:46:38 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (ankle) is officially active for the team's Week 2 game.

Fantasy Tip: Williams will be one of the starting receivers for the Cowboys but is facing a tough Denver Broncos defense. Owners probably should bench Williams this week if they have better options to use.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams expected to play

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 06:09:14 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (ankle) is expected to play in Week 2's game against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Williams was listed as questionable on the injury report but was only able to log a limited practice session Friday, Sept. 15, after spending part of the week in a walking boot. Although he had six receptions for 68 yards against the New York Giants in Week 1, he has a challenging matchup versus Denver, so it's probably best to avoid using him this week.

S Byron Jones (groin) and WR Terrance Williams (ankle) were limited in practice Friday, Sept. 15, and are listed as questionable. CBs Chidobe Awuzie (ankle) and Jourdan Lewis (hamstring) each participated fully in practice Friday for the third straight day and are not on the injury report.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams remains sidelined

Thu, 14 Sep 2017 10:09:33 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (ankle) did not practice Thursday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Williams has a really tough matchup versus the Denver Broncos anyway, so being hampered and not able to practice makes it that much harder to put him in starting lineups. It's best to bench Williams this week, even after a solid Week 1 outing in which he caught six of seven targets for 68 yards.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams does not practice

Wed, 13 Sep 2017 14:41:07 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (ankle) was unable to practice Wednesday, Sept. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Williams, who was in a walking boot earlier in the week, amassed six receptions for 68 yards in Week 1 against the Giants. He left the game briefly, but was able to return and finish up. If he is unable to suit up in Week 2 it would mean Brice Butler would likely assume the No. 3 receiver job behind Dez Bryant and Cole Beasley.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams misses Wednesday practice

Wed, 13 Sep 2017 11:55:16 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Williams appeared to suffer a bad ankle sprain early Sunday night, but he was only out for a few snaps and finished with six catches for 68 yards. Given the fact he played as long as he did following the injury, it is likely Dallas decided to keep him off his feet in hopes to reduce the swelling as much as possible. Assuming he is cleared to go, he will not be a good play in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams leads with 68 yards

Sun, 10 Sep 2017 22:04:16 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams posted six receptions for 68 yards on seven targets in Week 1 against the Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Williams left the game temporarily due to an ankle injury, but he was able to return in the second half and finish up. He actually had a game-high in yardage, as Janoris Jenkins did a good job of rubbing out Dez Bryant and forcing Dak Prescott to find alternatives.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams back in action

Sun, 10 Sep 2017 19:12:13 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (ankle) returned to the Week 1 game against the Giants in the second quarter after leaving for treatment in the locker room earlier.

Fantasy Tip: Williams finished the first half with six grabs for a game-high 68 yards in the first half, so he appears to be fully recovered.

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (ankle) left the Week 1 game against the New York Giants with an ankle injury and he is questionable to return.

Fantasy Tip: Williams was reportedly unable to put any pressure on his ankle, limping off to the locker room for treatment. Brice Butler will see more run behind Dez Bryant and Cole Beasley until Williams is able to return.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams back with Cowboys

Fri, 10 Mar 2017 15:36:40 -0800

Free-agent WR Terrance Williams (Cowboys) agreed to terms on a four-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys Friday, March 10, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Williams likely will continue to be the No. 2 receiver for the Cowboys for the next few years. He recorded 594 yards and four touchdowns in 2016 and probably will post similar stats in 2017. Owners should consider him a No. 4 or No. 5 receiver in fantasy leagues.

NFL | Terrance Williams could land $8 million

Sun, 05 Mar 2017 19:47:13 -0800

Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent WR Terrance Williams is expected to land a deal worth $6-$8 million per year, according to multiple NFL sources.

Fantasy Tip: Williams was never able to become a consistent weapon in Dallas, and unless he lands with a team desperate for receivers, he is likely to remain a unreliable fantasy option.

Cowboys | Dallas wants to re-sign receivers

Tue, 24 Jan 2017 16:23:22 -0800

Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent WRs Terrance Williams and Brice Butler will hopefully be re-signed this offseason, according to executive vice president Stephen Jones.

Fantasy Tip: Butler is a non-factor in the fantasy realm even if he is brought back. Williams put in a decent season with rookie quarterback Dak Prescott, but he shouldn't be viewed as more than a WR4 after a career-low 594 yards and just four touchdowns.

Thu, 29 Dec 2016 19:14:57 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (non-injury) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 29, due to a personal matter.

Fantasy Tip: Check back on his status closer to Sunday, but if Dallas elects to rest its stars, Williams could be a beneficiary if he plays.

Cowboys | Four grabs for Terrance Williams

Mon, 26 Dec 2016 21:48:40 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams hauled in four receptions for 61 yards in the Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions Monday, Dec. 26. Williams was targeted four times.

Fantasy Tip: Williams has become busier in recent weeks, posting 14 receptions for 180 yards and a score over his past four games. Still, that only makes him worth a look as a WR4 in deeper fantasy leagues for those playing into Week 17.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams held in check

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 13:45:52 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams caught two passes for 19 yards against the Cleveland Browns in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Williams has received a consistent amount of targets over the last month but has been held to 44 yards combined in the last two games. He will continue to be on the field for most of the offensive snaps and can still be a No. 3 receiver or flex option against most opponents.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams in uniform

Sun, 16 Oct 2016 12:31:55 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (shoulder) is officially active for the team's Week 6 game.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams full go

Thu, 13 Oct 2016 14:49:41 -0700

Dallas Cowboy WR Terrance Williams (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Williams hasn't done much at all so far this year, even with Dez Bryant sidelined. He's not a viable starter until he proves he can produce consistently.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams on practice field

Wed, 12 Oct 2016 15:42:45 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (shoulder) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Williams will continue to be a solid part of the passing game for the Cowboys even though he is dealing with a minor injury. Williams can be a low-end No. 3 or flex option in most league since he will receive targets during the game.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams posts 70 yards

Sun, 09 Oct 2016 22:01:20 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams posted five catches for 70 yards on five targets in the Week 5 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Tip: Williams has four or more catches in each of his past three games, re-emerging as a decent low-end WR3 fantasy option. If and when Dez Bryant is able to return Williams will see a decrease in fantasy appeal, so he is only worth being rostered in the deepest of leagues.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams undergoes X-rays

Sat, 27 Aug 2016 09:41:56 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (hand) underwent X-rays on his hand during the preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks Thursday, Aug. 25, but the results came back negative. He will be ready for the regular-season opener versus the New York Giants Sept. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Williams will serve as the Cowboys' No. 2 receiver and had a career-high 52 receptions for 840 yards in 2015. Although he doesn't catch many passes, he is a legitimate deep threat and should be viewed as a low-end WR3 or high-end WR4 in seasonal fantasy leagues.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams not worried

Thu, 19 May 2016 13:46:11 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams is in the final year of his rookie contract, but he's focused on the upcoming season, not a possible extension or new team. "Now, I'm just ready to be quiet and work and let my play speak for [itself]," Williams said. "You can always talk [about] what you're going to do and then if it doesn't go as planned, it's like a slap to your face. So I'm just ready to work and just show my play."

Fantasy Tip: Williams enters the 2016 season as the Cowboys' No. 2 wide receiver again behind Dez Bryant. He doesn't catch a ton of balls, but he is a legitimate deep threat, gaining a career-high 840 yards in 2015. Williams should be viewed as a WR4 this season.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams piles up yards

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 17:35:06 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams finished with eight catches for 173 yards in a 34-24 loss to the Washington Redskins in Week 17.

Fantasy Tip: Washington jumped out to a big lead and then rested its starters, and Williams piled up big numbers as the top option for Dallas' banged-up offense. Expect him to be a matchup-based WR3 next year when the Cowboys passing attack is back to full strength.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams makes two grabs

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 22:45:33 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams had just two catches on three targets in the Week 13 game against the Washington Redskins Monday, Dec. 7, but they were good for 25 and 38 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Williams showed off some big-play ability, but he was not targeted very frequently. He is only worth a look as a WR3 or flex option in FantasyScore heading into Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams has nice TD

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 22:06:39 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams had three receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Week 4 game against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) saved his best for last, as he made a sliding touchdown grab on fourth down inside of two minutes left in regulation to force overtime. He remains a decent low-end WR3 or flex FantasyScore option going forward as long as his salary remains in this range.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams goes without catch

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 22:06:41 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams was targeted twice in the Week 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons, but he went without a catch and any offensive statistics.

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) jelled nicely with Brandon Weeden last weekend, but he didn't show up in this one. Avoid him in FantasyScore due to his shaky quarterback situation.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams finds end zone

Sun, 20 Sep 2015 21:51:45 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams had four receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown in the Week 2 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was targeted seven times.

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) is the top dog in Big D right now with Dez Bryant (foot) sidelined. His FantasyScore value has taken another hit with Tony Romo (clavicle) going down to injury, so Brandon Weeden will be the quarterback for the immediate future. Williams and Weeden hooked up for the score, so they started building their rapport early.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant to have surgery Tuesday

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 09:27:36 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) will have surgery to fix a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot Tuesday, Sept. 15, according to a source. Bryant is expected to miss four to six weeks. The Cowboys have their bye on Oct. 18, so Bryant could return Oct. 26 against the New York Giants. WRs Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley and TE Jason Witten will likely be focal points in the offense with Bryant out. WR Devin Street will likely start in Bryant's spot with Beasley primarily working in the slot.

Fantasy Tip: With Bryant out, the rest of Dallas' offensive weapons all receive a boost to their fantasy value on a week-to-week basis except probably Tony Romo. Williams ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) should now be universally owned. Take a flier on Street ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) in more cavernous leagues or as a deep sleeper on FantasyScore starting in Week 2.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams has five catches

Sun, 13 Sep 2015 22:32:35 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams posted five receptions for 60 yards in the Week 1 win against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is expected to be the team's No. 1 wideout for at least the next month with Dez Bryant on the shelf recovering from foot surgery. Williams is a good value in FantasyScore going forward.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams earns praise

Tue, 14 Jul 2015 07:32:49 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams has grown a rapport with QB Tony Romo this offseason and was praised by wide receivers coach Derek Dooley. "He's not only taken a tremendous leadership role in the group, really setting the example of how you do things, he's expanded his route inventory," Dooley said at the conclusion of last month's minicamp. "He's played X. He's played Z. He's played in the slot and every day he went out there and was the same player. Every route, every opportunity he had he took advantage of it. So he's made a big jump this offseason."

Fantasy Tip: Williams' fantasy stock is rising, not only with this news, but also the possibility of Dez Bryant holding out. Williams is a high-end WR4 with some upside right now.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams injured

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 13:26:57 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (elbow) suffered a bruised left elbow during practice Thursday, June 18, but X-rays were negative, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: With x-rays being negative, Williams has avoided a serious injury. Williams was one of the most touchdown-reliant fantasy wide receivers last year. He scored eight times but only caught 37 passes in 16 games. A ray of optimism may be found for Williams in that the Cowboys probably won't be as reliant on the running game this year now that DeMarco Murray is gone. He's in low-end WR4 to high-end WR5 territory.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams making progress

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 11:39:56 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams has shown good progress with his play during offseason workouts, according to QB Tony Romo.

Fantasy Tip: Williams should be one of the starting wide receivers this season and is coming off a 2014 with eight touchdowns in 37 receptions. Williams could be an option in the middle to late rounds of upcoming fantasy drafts.

Tue, 26 May 2015 09:57:53 -0700

Free-agent WR A.J. Jenkins (Chiefs) signed an undisclosed deal with the Dallas Cowboys Tuesday, May 26, according to a source. Jenkins was the 30th overall pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2012, but he didn't catch a pass in three games with them. Dallas wanted to add a veteran receiver with WR Dez Bryant not taking part in the offseason training program. WRs Terrance Williams and Devin Street have worked with the first team in Bryant's absence, with WR Cole Beasley playing the slot.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams a deep threat again?

Thu, 08 Jan 2015 15:35:56 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams had three catches for 92 yards and three touchdowns in the team's wild-card playoff win over the Detroit Lions last week, and he has catches of 53, 51 and 76 yards in the last four games. This comes after an eight-game span in the middle of the year in which he had just one catch of more than 20 yards and just one touchdown. "Nothing has really changed," Williams said. "I'm still running the routes, the way I've always run my routes. I think Tony (Romo]) is just taking a few more chances deep than he was before."

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) will realistically find it hard to outperform last week's work, even if the matchup against the Green Bay Packers is favorable. Consider him a weak flex play at FantasyScore.

Cowboys | Probable status for Terrance Williams

Wed, 03 Dec 2014 14:39:55 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (finger) practiced in full Wednesday, Dec. 3, and is probable for Week 14 against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Tip: Despite a cheap cost ($3,600) and excellent matchup against da Bears Thursday night, it's very hard to trust the inconsistent Williams with a lineup spot at FantasyScore. Look elsewhere.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams practices in full

Tue, 02 Dec 2014 13:33:26 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (finger) practiced in full for the second straight day Tuesday, Dec. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Williams played with his finger ailment on Thanksgiving, but he had only two catches (four targets) for 38 yards. He hasn't had more than two catches in the last three weeks, and even though he'll be facing a Chicago Bears team that struggles against receivers, it's hard to justify spending $3,600 on him at FantasyScore for a flex spot.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams a full participant

Mon, 01 Dec 2014 13:50:17 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (finger) participated fully in practice Monday, Dec. 1.

Fantasy Tip: Williams is on some kind of cold streak, going scoreless in his last five outings after scoring six times in his first seven games. It might be best to stay away from Williams until he gets back on track.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams will suit up

Wed, 26 Nov 2014 13:43:40 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (finger) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 26, and is probable for Week 13 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fantasy Tip: You have to be skeptical about how well Williams can catch the ball with a broken digit, even if the team isn't worried. He's on the cheap side at FantasyScore for $4,600, but you can likely find more consistent wideout options.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams expected to play

Tue, 25 Nov 2014 13:44:28 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (finger) was limited in practice Tuesday, Nov. 25, after sitting out Monday, Nov. 24. Williams fractured his index finger in Week 12, and he'll wear a split and is expected to play against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13 Thursday, Nov. 27.

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($3,100) has just three catches in the last three games. He's not intriguing at all at FantasyScore, especially since he's now playing with a fractured finger, even though the team doesn't expect it to affect his catching abilities.

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (finger) was listed as not practicing Monday, Nov. 24, because of a broken finger tip. Head coach Jason Garrett said he does not expect Williams to have a trouble catching the ball.

Fantasy Tip: Although Williams should be able to play Thursday, Nov. 27, his value is completely dependent on whether or not he catches a long score, making him a boom-or-bust option at FantasyScore.

Cowboys | Another TD for Terrance Williams

Sun, 19 Oct 2014 19:39:25 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams had an 18-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter of the Week 7 game against the New York Giants. It was his sixth scoring catch, eclipsing his previous best of five in his rookie season last year.

Fantasy Tip: Williams has really come on, and is a bona fide WR2/3 or flex option in season fantasy formats, and a solid mid-level play in FantasyScore.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams could be big

Fri, 10 Oct 2014 07:09:07 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams could be a difference maker in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks, in the opinion of beat writer Nick Eatman. The Cowboys will likely try to stretch the field vertically to open up the running game, and Williams is their best deep threat.

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($5,600; 11.2% of your cap) is a mid-rate WR3 this week against Seattle on FantasyScore. It sounds like he'll have some opportunities to shine, so don't shy away from him just because of the Legion of Boom.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams efficient

Thu, 09 Oct 2014 15:45:02 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams is currently WR8 in non-PPR scoring leagues, yet has caught just 16 passes through five games. What's aided Williams this year are his five touchdowns.

Fantasy Tip: Williams certainly won't be able to keep up his touchdown pace, and his target and reception volume are concerning. Now might be a good time to sell high.
