Cowboys | Terrance Williams not worried

Thu, 19 May 2016 13:46:11 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams is in the final year of his rookie contract, but he's focused on the upcoming season, not a possible extension or new team. "Now, I'm just ready to be quiet and work and let my play speak for [itself]," Williams said. "You can always talk [about] what you're going to do and then if it doesn't go as planned, it's like a slap to your face. So I'm just ready to work and just show my play."

Fantasy Tip: Williams enters the 2016 season as the Cowboys' No. 2 wide receiver again behind Dez Bryant. He doesn't catch a ton of balls, but he is a legitimate deep threat, gaining a career-high 840 yards in 2015. Williams should be viewed as a WR4 this season.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams piles up yards

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 17:35:06 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams finished with eight catches for 173 yards in a 34-24 loss to the Washington Redskins in Week 17.

Fantasy Tip: Washington jumped out to a big lead and then rested its starters, and Williams piled up big numbers as the top option for Dallas' banged-up offense. Expect him to be a matchup-based WR3 next year when the Cowboys passing attack is back to full strength.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams makes two grabs

Mon, 07 Dec 2015 22:45:33 -0800

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams had just two catches on three targets in the Week 13 game against the Washington Redskins Monday, Dec. 7, but they were good for 25 and 38 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Williams showed off some big-play ability, but he was not targeted very frequently. He is only worth a look as a WR3 or flex option in FantasyScore heading into Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams has nice TD

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 22:06:39 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams had three receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Week 4 game against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) saved his best for last, as he made a sliding touchdown grab on fourth down inside of two minutes left in regulation to force overtime. He remains a decent low-end WR3 or flex FantasyScore option going forward as long as his salary remains in this range.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams goes without catch

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 22:06:41 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams was targeted twice in the Week 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons, but he went without a catch and any offensive statistics.

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) jelled nicely with Brandon Weeden last weekend, but he didn't show up in this one. Avoid him in FantasyScore due to his shaky quarterback situation.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams finds end zone

Sun, 20 Sep 2015 21:51:45 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams had four receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown in the Week 2 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was targeted seven times.

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) is the top dog in Big D right now with Dez Bryant (foot) sidelined. His FantasyScore value has taken another hit with Tony Romo (clavicle) going down to injury, so Brandon Weeden will be the quarterback for the immediate future. Williams and Weeden hooked up for the score, so they started building their rapport early.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant to have surgery Tuesday

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 09:27:36 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) will have surgery to fix a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot Tuesday, Sept. 15, according to a source. Bryant is expected to miss four to six weeks. The Cowboys have their bye on Oct. 18, so Bryant could return Oct. 26 against the New York Giants. WRs Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley and TE Jason Witten will likely be focal points in the offense with Bryant out. WR Devin Street will likely start in Bryant's spot with Beasley primarily working in the slot.

Fantasy Tip: With Bryant out, the rest of Dallas' offensive weapons all receive a boost to their fantasy value on a week-to-week basis except probably Tony Romo. Williams ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) should now be universally owned. Take a flier on Street ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) in more cavernous leagues or as a deep sleeper on FantasyScore starting in Week 2.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams has five catches

Sun, 13 Sep 2015 22:32:35 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams posted five receptions for 60 yards in the Week 1 win against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Williams ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is expected to be the team's No. 1 wideout for at least the next month with Dez Bryant on the shelf recovering from foot surgery. Williams is a good value in FantasyScore going forward.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams earns praise

Tue, 14 Jul 2015 07:32:49 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams has grown a rapport with QB Tony Romo this offseason and was praised by wide receivers coach Derek Dooley. "He's not only taken a tremendous leadership role in the group, really setting the example of how you do things, he's expanded his route inventory," Dooley said at the conclusion of last month's minicamp. "He's played X. He's played Z. He's played in the slot and every day he went out there and was the same player. Every route, every opportunity he had he took advantage of it. So he's made a big jump this offseason."

Fantasy Tip: Williams' fantasy stock is rising, not only with this news, but also the possibility of Dez Bryant holding out. Williams is a high-end WR4 with some upside right now.

Cowboys | Terrance Williams injured

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 13:26:57 -0700

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (elbow) suffered a bruised left elbow during practice Thursday, June 18, but X-rays were negative, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: With x-rays being negative, Williams has avoided a serious injury. Williams was one of the most touchdown-reliant fantasy wide receivers last year. He scored eight times but only caught 37 passes in 16 games. A ray of optimism may be found for Williams in that the Cowboys probably won't be as reliant on the running game this year now that DeMarco Murray is gone. He's in low-end WR4 to high-end WR5 territory.
