Cincinnati Reds SS Eugenio Suarez went 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, three runs and a walk in a 13-5 win over the Chicago Cubs Saturday, April 23.

Reds | Eugenio Suarez, Devin Mesoraco out

Mon, 18 Apr 2016 11:06:50 -0700

Cincinnati Reds 3B Eugenio Suarez and C Devin Mesoraco are not in the starting lineup Monday, April 18. C Jordan Pacheco is starting at third and hitting second, while C Tucker Barnhart is doing the catching and is batting seventh against Colorado Rockies SP Jordan Lyles.

Fantasy Tip: Pacheco has the more favorable lineup spot for daily play, but neither are anything more than low-end options for salary cap relief against Lyles Monday evening.

Reds | Zack Cozart, Devin Mesoraco remain out

Thu, 14 Apr 2016 12:21:33 -0700

Cincinnati Reds SS Zack Cozart (quadriceps) and C Devin Mesoraco (hip) both remain out of the starting lineup for the second straight day Thursday, April 14. 3B/SS Eugenio Suarez moves to shortstop and C Jordan Pacheco is starting at third and hitting seventh. C Tucker Barnhart is back in at catcher and is hitting eighth against Chicago Cubs SP Jason Hammel.

Fantasy Tip: Cozart and Mesoraco's injuries are both worth monitoring, especially with Mesoraco after he missed almost the entire season in 2015 due to hip problems. Both Pacheco and Barnhart are desperation fillers in daily formats.

Reds | Eugenio Suarez rocks Pirates again

Sun, 10 Apr 2016 13:55:40 -0700

Cincinnati Reds 3B Eugenio Suarez continued to be a thorn in the side of the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday, April 10, going 3-for-4 with a solo homer.

Fantasy Tip: Even though he can't be expected to replicate the numbers left behind by Todd Frazier, Suarez is doing a pretty good impersonation. Suarez went 6-for-11 with two homers, four RBI and five runs scored in three games against the Pirates this weekend and is batting .435 with four home runs and nine RBI on the season.

Cincinnati Reds SS Eugenio Suarez hit his third home run in four games, finishing 2-for-3 with three RBI, three runs scored and a walk in a 5-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Fantasy Tip: Suarez has three homers and eight RBI through five games, and if you need a shortstop, his power makes him worth a look in all formats.

Reds | Eugenio Suarez hits a grand slam

Thu, 07 Apr 2016 14:43:51 -0700

Cincinnati Reds SS Eugenio Suarez hit his first career grand slam in a win over the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday, April 7. Suarez finished the game 2-for-4 with a run scored and four RBI, and he's now hitting .333 on the early season.

Fantasy Tip: Suarez showed last year that he has nice power (13 home runs) at a thin position, and he'll also gain third base eligibility. He should remain very valuable in deep mixed leagues for his pop in a middle or corner infield spot.

Reds | Eugenio Suarez to play 3B

Wed, 16 Dec 2015 10:43:17 -0800

Cincinnati Reds SS Eugenio Suarez will play third base in 2016, according to general manager Walt Jocketty.

Fantasy Tip: Suarez impressed with a .280-13-48 line in 372 at-bats. He'll be a low-end flyer because of his SS eligibility for the MI spot.

Reds | Eugenio Suarez out of lineup

Sat, 26 Sep 2015 10:36:00 -0700

Cincinnati Reds SS Eugenio Suarez is not in the starting lineup against the New York Mets SP Matt Harvey Saturday, Sept. 26. INF Ivan De Jesus will play shortstop and bat sixth.

Fantasy Tip: De Jesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is 4-for-12 with three RBIs over the past week and is batting .308 against the Mets this season. He should be considered a low-priced flier in FantasyScore.

Reds | Eugenio Suarez could change positions

Sat, 19 Sep 2015 10:03:12 -0700

Cincinnati Reds SS Eugenio Suarez is open to changing positions next season, with SS Zack Cozart (knee) expected to regain his starting job in 2016. Suarez has played shortstop exclusively at the major league level but he had 36 games of experience at second base and 51 games at third base in the minors. "I'm ready for anything," he said. "I want to play in the big leagues, any position."

Fantasy Tip: Suarez ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has had a solid season at the plate, batting .283 with 11 home runs and 44 RBIs through 82 games. The Reds are expected to have a vacancy in left field next season and he would be a better offensive option than anyone the team is throwing out there now, although he has never played the position professionally. If the team decides to convert him to the outfield, don't be surprised if he is sent to play winter ball in order to get accustomed to the position.

Reds | Eugenio Suarez receives a blow

Tue, 15 Sep 2015 16:45:50 -0700

Cincinnati Reds SS Eugenio Suarez is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Sept. 15. 2B Ivan De Jesus is starting at shortstop and is hitting sixth against San Francisco Giants SP Chris Heston.

Fantasy Tip: For a player with minimal power, De Jesus ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) shouldn't excite any FantasyScore gamers at the Giants tonight.
