Fri, 07 Jun 2013 12:58:27 -0700 Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy signed a four-year deal worth $3.392 million. The deal includes a $847,208 signing bonus.
Thu, 06 Jun 2013 11:16:04 -0700 Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy said he currently weighs 238 pounds, which is more than he weighed when he played for Alabama. Lacy usually weighed between 225 pounds and 230 pounds during college. Fantasy Tip: Lacy will be competing for the starting running back job but probably have to share carries even if he does win the job. He should be considered a weak No. 3 running back at this point because he of his carries as well as his injury risk.
Wed, 29 May 2013 13:25:18 -0700 The Green Bay Packers signed RB Eddie Lacy to an undisclosed four-year deal Wednesday, May 29.
Mon, 27 May 2013 11:38:58 -0700 At least three teams were told by their medical teams that Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (toe) could have problems with his surgically-repaired toe within the next two to three years.
Mon, 27 May 2013 10:33:46 -0700 The Denver Broncos' front office viewed RB Montee Ball as having less risk than Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy in April's NFL Draft. Denver passed on Lacy in both the first and second rounds when they chose Ball with the 58th overall pick. Lacy's injury history played a factor in their decision.
Mon, 13 May 2013 14:40:35 -0700 Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (toe) said he is not worried about his surgically repaired toe and does not believe it will be a problem. "It's nothing that I'm thinking about. I'm pretty sure I won't have any problems with it. It's holding up good. The surgery was basically perfect, and now it's about getting back to doing what I know how to do best," Lacy said.
Mon, 13 May 2013 14:30:25 -0700 Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy said he believes he will fit in the offense well this season. "I feel that I can fit into the offense perfectly. They won't have to change anything. I'll be able to go in there and adapt to it. It'll keep defenses guessing," Lacy said. Fantasy Tip: Lacy is expected to compete for the starting running back job during offseason workouts and training camp but his role at this point is uncertain. Lacy should be considered a No. 3 running back or a flex option at this point.
Fri, 10 May 2013 05:18:52 -0700 Updating previous reports, Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (toe) didn't have toe fusion surgery before his senior year at Alabama. It was a surgery to correct turf toe. Unlike the typical toe fusion surgery - which hardens the toe completely, limiting mobility - only the bone on the tip of Lacy's big toe was fused. "The joint underneath the toenail was fused to allow the ligament to work better basically," Alabama's team doctor E. Lyle Cain Jr. said. "It's something you do to give you a better push-off. His big toe moves just like a normal big toe in terms of motion... If you fused it completely, it'd give you a stiff big toe and you can't push off and that's a big problem. In Eddie's case, he does not have that. His fusion does not affect his big-toe motion."
Thu, 02 May 2013 06:09:25 -0700 Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (toe) said he is ready to go and will be 100 percent entering camp. Teams shied away from drafting him early in the draft due to a toe fusion surgery. Fantasy Tip: Lacy could play a significant role this season. Alex Green and James Starks were injury prone and vastly ineffective last season. Look for Lacy to have a shot at significant carries in camp.
Thu, 02 May 2013 06:09:01 -0700 Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy said his injury history will not be a concern heading into the 2013 season. "From Day 1," Lacy said. "I'm going to be ready to go."
