Jacksonville Jaguars offensive line coach George Yarno has been very impressed with how OT Luke Joeckel has looked during the team's rookie minicamp. "He has excellent movement skills, great balance, he's a very smart kid," Yarno said. "He's working hard. He's going to get better fast. He's competitive. Love what I've seen so far. He's so smooth, a fluid mover. He has great, natural balance. His lower body has a lot of power in it. He has a low center of gravity. He has all those things you look for in a tackle, especially. I'm really excited to get to work with him."

Jacksonville Jaguars OT Luke Joeckel said he was not totally comfortable working at right tackle during practice Friday, May 3, but knows it will take time to adjust to the position. "It was different. My first step wasn't as quick. It will be a work in progress, but I felt pretty good about today. I can't rush it. It will take a while to feel totally comfortable, but I have a little time before Week 1 and the first preseason game," Joeckel said.

The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Texas A&M OT Luke Joeckel with the second overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Tip: It's the smart pick for the long term, but they need to find a competent quarterback to protect before this offense garners fantasy confidence. Maurice Jones-Drew foot recovery will determine that, as well.

If the Kansas City Chiefs select Texas A&M OT Luke Joeckel or Central Michigan OT Eric Fisher No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft, it will not be to play either prospect at right tackle, whether OT Branden Albert is traded or not.

There is growing speculation the Jacksonville Jaguars will either select Texas A&M OT Luke Joeckel or Central Michigan OT Eric Fisher with the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft. If Joeckel goes to the Kansas City Chiefs first overall, then the Jaguars could take Fisher. If the Chiefs go with Fisher, the Jaguars could nab Joeckel. Since the team already has a left tackle in OT Eugene Monroe, the draft pick would be moved to right tackle and general manager David Caldwell said he could defend taking a right tackle in the second slot.
