Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell should benefit the most from the zone-blocking scheme new offensive line coach Mike Munchak plans to install. Bell is a patient, yet decisive runner, which is a perfect combination for the scheme.
Fantasy Tip: Bell could be a low-end RB1 next season and may be drafted in the second round of drafts.
Sun, 08 Dec 2013 23:09:49 -0800
Pittsburgh Steelers TE Matt Spaeth (knee), who missed the first 12 games with a knee injury, saw his first action of the season Sunday, Dec. 8. He threw a block on Miami Dolphins S Reshad Jones that sprung RB Le'Veon Bell for a nine-yard gain and a first down at the Miami 11.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (concussion) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 6, and is listed as probable for Week 14.

Thu, 05 Dec 2013 14:53:14 -0800
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (concussion) is on track to return in Week 14 against the Miami Dolphins from a scary concussion he suffered in Week 13. He has passed all of the league-mandated concussion tests this week and should play this weekend. Bell has practiced both days this week and is expecting a normal workload Sunday against the Dolphins.
Fantasy Tip: Great news for Bell owners here. The collision looked very scary, so it's nice to see that Bell is not expected to miss any game action. He's a comfortable No. 2 RB for fantasy purposes, but Pittsburgh's beat up offensive line may set him back.
Wed, 04 Dec 2013 13:32:29 -0800
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (concussion) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 4.
Tue, 03 Dec 2013 11:18:36 -0800
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (concussion) said he's been feeling better after being knocked out in Week 13, but he doesn't remember much of the incident. "I don't remember the exact play. I didn't remember it when it first happened," said Bell. "Once I came off the field I didn't really know I had scored. Then they told me I did; then they told me it wasn't a touchdown. I wasn't aware of what was going on at the time because I got hit. I can't really remember what happened."
Fantasy Tip: The only thing that matters is that Bell is feeling fine and is already running. He'll need to pass the concussion protocol, but if he plays against the Miami Dolphins, consider him a solid No. 2 back.
Tue, 03 Dec 2013 09:46:51 -0800
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said RB Le'Veon Bell (concussion) will try to play in the team's Week 14 game.
Fantasy Tip: Let's see what kind of work he is able to get in on the practice field this week, but the fact that there is this much optimism at this point is a good sign for Bell owners.
Mon, 02 Dec 2013 13:51:37 -0800
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (concussion) did some running Monday, Dec. 2, and is hoping to play in Week 14 against the Miami Dolphins after suffering a concussion in the team's Week 13 contest. "I'm going to take it day by day and see where we're at," Bell said. "The goal is obviously to play but if (I'm) not able to I'm not able to." Bell doesn't remember the hit but hasn't had many lingering effects from the violent collision. He took an ImPACT test Sunday, Dec. 1, and will have to pass more concussion tests before being cleared.
Fantasy Tip: The good news is that Bell will have over a full week to recover from his ugly concussion. It will all depend on whether he passes the concussion tests this week. The fact that he's already running is a good sign, though. Felix Jones and Jonathan Dwyer will split the duties in the backfield if Bell isn't cleared. If Bell plays, he should be in your lineups against the Miami Dolphins. Jones and Dwyer are desperation flex plays.
Sat, 30 Nov 2013 06:58:06 -0800
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell earned the respect of his teammates in trying to score a touchdown in the team's Week 13 game. "He sold himself out to score and you have to respect that," Dwyer said.
Fri, 29 Nov 2013 05:24:13 -0800
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (head) was examined for a possible concussion after their Week 13 game. Bell left the game after a nasty helmet-to-helmet hit late in the fourth quarter.
Fantasy Tip: Bell was woozy after the game, but there is no word on how serious his condition is or if he'll be able to play next week. Felix Jones could be the benefactor.
Wed, 27 Nov 2013 05:20:26 -0800
The Pittsburgh Steelers are impressed with RB Le'Veon Bell's awareness on the field and his work ethic. He has earned their trust to pick up blitzes and knows the offense well.
Fri, 01 Nov 2013 10:33:37 -0700
New England Patriots DT Isaac Sopoaga has practiced with the team the last three days, and head coach Bill Belichick said that there's a good chance he'll play in Week 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. "He's in good condition, his reactions are what you'd expect them to be," Belichick noted. "He just has to get familiar with our terminology and some of the ways we play certain blocks and what his responsibilities are on blitzes and that kind of thing. He's a smart guy and he obviously has a lot of experience."
Fantasy Tip: The Patriots need all the help on the D-line since the loss of Vince Wilfork. They've struggled to stop the run since his injury. Le'Veon Bell is a strong play in Week 9.
Sun, 29 Sep 2013 13:22:35 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell had 16 carries for 57 yards and two touchdowns in his NFL debut in Week 4. He also had four catches for 27 yards.
Fri, 27 Sep 2013 12:02:59 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 27, and is listed as probable for Week 4.
Fantasy Tip: Bell looks like he will be making his season debut this week and may be the team's starting running back. He should not be seen as more than a flex play this week because it is not known how much playing time he will get since he is coming back from the injury.
Thu, 26 Sep 2013 16:02:06 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) practiced in full Thursday, Sept. 26.
Fantasy Tip: Bell owners should be happy that he's expected to make his season debut ahead of schedule. However, temper your expectations in this one; Pittsburgh's bye is next week, so they're unlikely to give him a heavy workload. Be safe and leave him on your bench.
Wed, 25 Sep 2013 13:35:02 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 25.
Wed, 25 Sep 2013 11:23:16 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) is expected to make his season debut against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4, but QB Ben Roethlisberger isn't so sure of that. "Honestly, I have no idea with him," Roethlisberger said. "You can't get a read on him. One day, he's practicing, one day, he's not; one day, he's going hard, the next day, he's not. I wish I could." Bell was banged up in the preseason and only rushed four times for nine yards.
Fantasy Tip: Mike Tomlin continues to say that how much Bell plays on Sunday will depend on how he looks in practice this week. Stay updated on Bell's practice status, but we get the feeling that he'll be eased in against the Vikings before the team's Week 5 bye. It'd be unwise to rely on him this week. Felix Jones or Jonathan Dwyer are better options.
Tue, 24 Sep 2013 12:45:01 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Isaac Redman, the team's Week 1 starter at running back, is now listed as fourth on the depth chart behind RBs Felix Jones, Le'Veon Bell (foot) and Jonathan Dwyer, in that order. Jones is the team's leading rusher with 71 yards and is averaging 4.2 yards per carry. Bell is expected to play in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings, but they'll likely ease him back into the mix.
Fantasy Tip: With Pitt's bye week in Week 5, they won't want to put too much on the shoulders of Bell immediately. He's the best back to own in this backfield long term, but Jones is probably the better play against the Vikes.
Tue, 24 Sep 2013 09:49:07 -0700
Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) is expected to play in the team's Week 4 game in London against the Minnesota Vikings. Bell has progressed ahead of schedule from his injury.
Fantasy Tip: Bell may not be 100 percent this weekend, but it looks like there's a good chance he'll be on the field. A combination of Felix Jones, Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman haven't gotten it done in three weeks. Dwyer looked solid last week, however, so he may split the carries with Bell this weekend.
Tue, 24 Sep 2013 09:12:48 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) is expected to practice this week, and there is optimism he will be available to play in the teams Week 4 game, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.
Fantasy Tip: It looks good for Bell to play this week, short of a setback. Still, it is probably wise to let him get a game under his belt before you add him to your starting lineup.
Mon, 23 Sep 2013 20:35:50 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) might be able to return in Week 4, as he has made quicker progress than anticipated.
Fantasy Tip: Even if Bell is able to return, give him at least one game to knock off the rust and play without any setbacks before plugging him into your active fantasy lineup.
Sun, 22 Sep 2013 16:20:14 -0700
The Pittsburgh Steelers have declared C Cody Wallace, CB Cortez Allen, WR Derek Moye, CB Isaiah Green, QB Landry Jones, RB Le'Veon Bell, DL Loni Fangupo inactive for Week 3.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) is not expected to play Week 3.
Fri, 20 Sep 2013 13:25:21 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 20, and is listed as questionable for Week 3.
Fantasy Tip: Bell has not played yet this season because of a foot injury and may sit out another game to make sure the foot is healed before playing. If he does play, he likely will see limited playing time, which would make him a risky flex option for desperate owners.
Fri, 20 Sep 2013 11:27:24 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) participated in practice Friday, Sept. 20, and would not rule out playing in Week 3.
Fantasy Tip: While it is good news that Bell appears to be closing in on a return, the team could choose to be cautious with him with a bye week on the horizon. Check back on game day to see if he is active.
Thu, 19 Sep 2013 13:32:03 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) practiced in full Thursday, Sept. 19. However, Bell doesn't think he'll be able to play in Week 3.
Fantasy Tip: Great news for Bell owners. However, the Steelers could opt to be cautious and keep him out until after their Week 5 bye. Until then, Felix Jones and Isaac Redman will likely share the backfield duties. Neither running back is a very exciting flex play behind a patchwork offensive line.
Thu, 19 Sep 2013 07:48:21 -0700
Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) said he's still in the healing process and will take it slowly to avoid aggravating the injury.
Fantasy Tip: The team has a bye in Week 5, so it's possible he could return in Week 6. However, he has several hurdles to cross before that becomes a realistic vision.
Wed, 18 Sep 2013 15:01:11 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 18.
Fantasy Tip: Bell was expected to ramp up his activities this week, but we won't see him back on the field until at least Week 6, following the club's bye. Continue to hang onto Bell if you have the room.
Tue, 17 Sep 2013 09:23:17 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said he expects RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) to ramp up his activity in practice this week as he continues to work his way back from a foot issue.

Wed, 11 Sep 2013 07:56:48 -0700
Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell's (foot) injury is now being classified as a Lisfranc sprain, according to a source. The team is now hoping he returns in a month.
Fantasy Tip: Well, so much for those Week 3 hopes. The team has a bye in Week 5, and they'll play the New York Jets in Week 6. Isaac Redman, Jonathan Dwyer and Felix Jones will continue to share the work, with Redman the starter. Try to hold onto Bell for a few more weeks, but understand these things could eventually mean a lost season.
Tue, 10 Sep 2013 13:18:30 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) and TE Heath Miller (knee) are unlikely to return in Week 2 to face the Cincinnati Bengals. Miller will return to practice this week, but it's believed that he's still dealing with swelling in his knee some days. Head coach Mike Tomlin has yet to update Bell's status.
Fantasy Tip: Miller can be left to the waiver wire in most leagues until he returns. Once he does and if he's fully healthy, he could make for nice TE depth. Bell needs to be held onto, as he could return as early as Week 3 and take over as the main ball carrier.
Sun, 08 Sep 2013 08:47:11 -0700
The Pittsburgh Steelers have declared CB Antwon Blake, C Cody Wallace, TE Heath Miller, QB Landry Jones, RB Le'Veon Bell, DL Loni Fangupo, LB Vince Williams inactive for Week 1.

Wed, 04 Sep 2013 14:50:59 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 4.
Wed, 04 Sep 2013 06:46:49 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) has been ruled out for Week 1 because he won't be able to practice, not necessarily due to the injury.
Fantasy Tip: It sounds like there's a chance he could return in Week 2. We think that's a bit optimistic for now, but it's the best news we've heard since the injury.
Tue, 03 Sep 2013 11:09:51 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) is not wearing a walking boot and is already doing some jogging. Bell is hoping to return to action in Week 2. "I'm not going to rush this process. I'm just going to make sure I get back to 100 percent before I do anything else," Bell said.
Fantasy Tip: Bell will not be rushed in his rookie season by Pittsburgh. If another owner jumped the gun and dropped Bell thinking he would miss at least half the season, pick him up.
Mon, 02 Sep 2013 11:30:41 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) said he is targeting Week 2 for his return but will not come back until he is fully healthy.
Fantasy Tip: Bell was expecting to miss several weeks, so a Week 2 return is probably a bit optimistic for him. When he does return, he likely will be a low-end No. 2 or No. 3 fantasy running back most weeks.
Mon, 02 Sep 2013 11:23:00 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Isaac Redman said he expects to start while RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) is out of the lineup. Redman said the coaches do not want to use a committee at running back, and he does not want to give them a reason to use a committee.
Fantasy Tip: If Redman does get the start, he will still have to share some carries with Felix Jones and LaRod Stephens-Howling. Redman probably would be a flex option if he is the team's starting running back.
Sun, 01 Sep 2013 09:32:56 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RBs Isaac Redman, Felix Jones and LaRod Stephens-Howling are expected to share playing time until RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) is able to recover from his foot injury.
Wed, 28 Aug 2013 08:10:59 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) is no longer wearing a walking boot. His status remains unknown.
Fantasy Tip: This is certainly good news, and we're cautiously optimistic it might improve his timetable. Maybe he can make it back by Week 4.
Tue, 27 Aug 2013 09:45:57 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Isaac Redman is expected to start while RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) recovers from his foot injury. RBs Jonathan Dwyer and LaRod Stephens-Howling will serve as the backups.
Fantasy Tip: Redman has some low-end RB2 or flex fantasy appeal if he does indeed start in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans, who ranked dead-last in the NFL against the rush last season by allowing 178.0 yards per game.
Fri, 23 Aug 2013 13:42:01 -0700
Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) has a small ligament tear in his right foot and is expected to miss as much as six weeks.
Thu, 22 Aug 2013 09:47:14 -0700
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) has a mid-foot sprain and will not require surgery.
Fantasy Tip: While it is good news that Bell won't need surgery, he is still expected to miss a significant amount of time, and his draft value should reflect that moving forward.
Wed, 21 Aug 2013 13:08:16 -0700
Updating previous report, Doctors are expecting Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) to miss six to eight weeks because of a Lisfranc injury. The hope is that rest will allow Bell to play this season.
Fantasy Tip: It looks like Bell will miss at least most of the first half of the regular season, if not more. Owners should not consider Bell as more as a late-round flier because of the injury.
