Jets | Geno Smith present at practice

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 10:58:00 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith (jaw) attended practice Monday, Aug. 24, but did not participate in drills. He was wearing a no-contact jersey during practice.

Fantasy Tip: Smith is expected to miss several weeks because of his jaw injury, so owners should not select him in drafts. Ryan Fitzpatrick will start while he is out, but he is not a great fantasy option either.

Jets | Geno Smith nearly replaced by Cousins

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 09:39:54 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith was nearly replaced by Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins, whom the team would have traded for if they hired Dan Quinn as head coach. Quinn wanted to bring Kyle Shanahan aboard as offensive coordinator, and the tandem sought to acquire Cousins to be the starting quarterback for the Jets.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan Fitzpatrick has a chance to keep the starting job once Smith returns from his broken jaw. Both signal callers are QB2's that should be left on waivers except in deeper leagues.

Jets | Geno Smith won't be on sideline

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 15:43:09 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith (jaw) will not be on the sideline Friday, Aug. 21, versus the Atlanta Falcons. Head coach Todd Bowles said inactive injured players will not be permitted on the sideline while the game is ongoing.

Fantasy Tip: It's not that Smith is being shunned or put in the doghouse. Bowles just doesn't want anyone injured being at risk on the sideline. It's a precautionary policy he has. Smith is expected to miss at least the first four games of the season. Stay away from him in fantasy drafts.

Jets | Geno Smith could miss first four games

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 12:51:42 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith's (jaw) broken jaw could force him to miss the first four games of the season, according to general manager Mike Maccagnan. The Jets have a Week 5 bye, so he could return for Week 6. Maccagnan also said the Jets could add another quarterback in light of Smith's injury.

Fantasy Tip: Smith's recovery period was expected to be six to 10 weeks, so a return in Week 6 would seem to be a good thing. Of course, Ryan Fitzpatrick could still start upon Smith's return if he's playing well enough. Still, none of New York's quarterbacks are worth starting on fantasy teams.

Jets | Team doesn't want Geno Smith working out

Sun, 16 Aug 2015 13:35:08 -0700

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles said he was not happy that QB Geno Smith (jaw) began working out on his own two days after undergoing surgery to fix a broken jaw. He said the matter has been dealt with internally and Smith will not face disciplinary action.

Fantasy Tip: Smith is expected to be sidelined six to 10 weeks, although there is no guarantee that he will regain his starting role if Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing well. The Jets' quarterback situation is one for fantasy owners to avoid regardless of who is lined up behind center.

Jets | Geno Smith has surgery

Thu, 13 Aug 2015 15:52:10 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith (jaw) underwent surgery on his broken jaw Thursday, Aug. 13. Plates and screws were inserted, but his jaw did not need to be wired shut.

Fantasy Tip: Smith is expected to return in six to 10 weeks, but he may not start upon his return if Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing well. No matter what, New York's quarterback situation is one to stay away from.

Jets | Geno Smith elects for surgery

Thu, 13 Aug 2015 09:37:36 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith (jaw) has elected for surgery to repair his broken jaw after a second opinion. Smith is expected to miss six to 10 weeks.

Fantasy Tip: Smith is slated to miss at least the first two games, but he was a shaky QB2 to begin with. Look for him as a one-week play in great matchups if he regains the starting job. Ryan Fitzpatrick is a low-end QB2 in his stead.

Jets | Geno Smith may not regain job

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 10:46:17 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith (jaw) may not regain his starting job when he returns if the team is playing well without him, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

Fantasy Tip: Smith is expected to miss at least the first few weeks of the season because of his broken jaw, but he could stay on the sidelines if the team is winning games. Ryan Fitzpatrick is expected to take over the starting job, but he should only be considered as No. 2 quarterback in deeper leagues.

Jets | Geno Smith punched over $600

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 05:36:00 -0700

Updating a previous report, New York Jets QB Geno Smith (jaw) was punched in the face by former Jets LB IK Enemkpali because of a dispute over money. Enemkpali accepted a $600 plane ticket from Enemkpali to appear at his football camp in Pflugerville, Texas, on July 11, according to sources. Smith didn't show up to the camp, which took place days after someone close to Smith was killed in a motorcycle accident in Miami. After Smith did not attend, Enemkpali demanded that Smith refund him the $600 he allegedly used to purchase the plane ticket. Smith told Enemkpali he would reimburse him the money, but he had not as of Tuesday, Aug. 11. Enkempali confronted Smith about the money, and the confrontation ended in a punch and a broken jaw. A source familiar with the situation told ESPN's Josina Anderson that at the start of camp, Smith approached Enemkpali, sensing tension between the two. The source said Smith confronted Enemkpali, tried to diffuse the situation and offered to pay Enemkpali the $600.

Fantasy Tip: Smith probably shouldn't be drafted in single-year leagues because of his lengthy absence. Ryan Fitzpatrick is a low-end QB2 that you can use in two-quarterback leagues.

Jets | Geno Smith out 6-10 weeks

Tue, 11 Aug 2015 10:31:57 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith (jaw) will miss six to 10 weeks after suffering a broken jaw Tuesday, Aug. 11, according to head coach Todd Bowles. Smith was "sucker punched" by DE IK Enemkpali. Smith will have surgery.

Fantasy Tip: Smith wasn't a viable fantasy quarterback heading into the season. He could miss four games (five total weeks with the team's Week 5 bye) if he recovers on the short end of that timetable. Ryan Fitzpatrick is expected to be the team's starter in Smith's absence. He could present an upgrade for the aerial weapons, most notably Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker, but probably not enough of one to upgrade them for your cheat sheets. Fitzpatrick can be avoided in all formats.

Jets | Geno Smith throws two INTs

Mon, 10 Aug 2015 16:18:49 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith threw his first two interceptions of training camp during practice Monday, Aug. 10, but did throw three touchdowns during the red zone part of practice.

Fantasy Tip: Smith appears to have a hold on the starting job and is coming off a decent end to the 2015 season. Smith should only be seen as a No. 2 quarterback in deeper leagues and there is a chance he could lose his job if he struggles early.

Jets | Saalim Hakim shines

Fri, 07 Aug 2015 18:28:55 -0700

New York Jets WR Saalim Hakim received extra reps in practice Friday, Aug. 7, after WR Chris Owusu (head) left with an injury. Hakim scored two touchdowns, catching a deep ball over CB Antonio Cromartie on a pass from QB Geno Smith and scoring in a red-zone drill on a pass from QB Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Jets | Geno Smith solid again

Fri, 07 Aug 2015 18:21:28 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith completed 17 of his 24 pass attempts in practice Friday, Aug. 7, and he has now gone eight practices without throwing an interception. Head coach Todd Bowles said Smith's command of the offense is "night and day from the spring and from OTAs."

Fantasy Tip: Smith is still on track to open the season as the starting quarterback, but donít count on him being more than a low-end QB2 in 2015.

Jets | Teammate says Geno Smith is starter

Thu, 06 Aug 2015 09:22:03 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith is absolutely the starting quarterback for the Jets, according to WR Brandon Marshall.

Fantasy Tip: Smith has some solid performances last season but could be on a short leash if he starts of slowly this season. Owners should consider Smith as nothing more than a No. 2 quarterback in deeper leagues.

Jets | Geno Smith impressing teammate

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 15:43:22 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith has caught the eye of teammate WR Eric Decker this offseason. "Since the offseason he's done a good job of his accountability, his discipline, how he watches tape, how he comes to practice," Decker said. "He's definitely taking that leadership role. [We're] just kind of watching him grow every day. He's definitely done a terrific job."

Fantasy Tip: Smith can have the greatest training camp and preseason of all time, but when it comes to games that count, he's been unreliable in his first two years in the NFL. He has the weapons to be successful, including Decker and new WR Brandon Marshall. Still, Smith hasn't thrown more than 13 touchdowns and hasn't thrown fewer than 13 interceptions in a season. He's not worth drafting as your starting fantasy quarterback.

Jets | Geno Smith still interception-free

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 16:23:28 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith turned the ball over for the first time in more than four practices Tuesday, Aug. 4. It was a fumble, however, so Smith is still without an interception over the same time frame.

Fantasy Tip: Smith may have a nice no-interception streak going, but he hasn't played in any real games yet. Smith has been one of the most inconsistent quarterbacks in his short career so far. He can't be trusted as a starting fantasy quarterback.

Jets | Geno Smith leading QB battle

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 16:05:23 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick have not thrown interceptions thus far in training camp, but Smith is still the leading candidate to open the year as the starter.

Fantasy Tip: Smith may have one or two big games, but even as the starter, he is a low-end QB2.

Jets | Geno Smith avoids mistakes

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 19:32:03 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith worked with the first-team offense and completed 12 of his 20 pass attempts with no interceptions Thursday, July 30.

Fantasy Tip: Smith will have the weapons to have his best season, but his week-to-week consistency will likely remain a major issue. He is a low-end QB2 entering 2015.

Jets | Geno Smith won't have long leash

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 16:45:10 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith could be benched if he struggles early in the season, according to head coach Todd Bowles Tuesday, July 28. "If you feel that his position or any other position is hurting the team, as a head coach, it's up to you to do something about it," Bowles said about Smith. "It's not a year-long thing for anybody. You earn your keep by the week. You earn your keep by the day. … If somebody is not doing their job, it's up to me to rectify the situation," said Bowles.

Fantasy Tip: Veteran QB Ryan Fitzpatrick could find himself in the starting role early on in 2015, but he won't be worth drafting in standard leagues, and he's only a late-round flier in two-QB leagues.

Jets | No pressure for Geno Smith?

Sat, 04 Jul 2015 18:04:11 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith said he doesn't feel any pressure heading into training camp. "I feel like we have a lot of room for improvement, but I love the way we're working and competing," Smith said. "To have guys around me that are so, so good, it takes all the pressure off of me."

Fantasy Tip: Smith has some legitimate targets to throw to this season, but he will have to make huge strides in his week-to-week consistency to become more than a low-end QB2 in seasonal leagues.

Jets | Geno Smith to work out with teammates

Thu, 02 Jul 2015 10:14:56 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith said he will be working out with most of the offensive skill players in Chicago during the two weeks before the start of training camp. Smith said he expects to be the only quarterback at the workouts but that the other quarterbacks are welcome to attend.

Fantasy Tip: Smith appears to be working hard on building chemistry with the receivers, tight ends and running backs this offseason. He did have a solid end to the season but should be seen as a No. 2 quarterback in deeper leagues this season.

Jets | No vacation for Geno Smith

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 19:00:48 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith said he is already focusing on preparing his body and mind for the regular season, and the next step is to work out with WR Brandon Marshall.

Fantasy Tip: With the addition of Marshall and Decker over the past two seasons, Smith will have some decent weapons to work with. However, consistency has eluded him so far in his career, making him a low-end QB2 prospect heading into 2015.

Jets | Vote of confidence for Geno Smith

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 11:42:57 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith is improving year-by-year and has what it takes to be the quarterback of the future for the Jets, according to ESPN's Ron Jaworski. Jaworski said he has seen growth and improvement in Smith each year and that he just needs to perform on a consistent basis.

Fantasy Tip: Jaworski is right, Smith has been way too inconsistent in his two-year career, prompting the Jets to bring in Ryan Fitzpatrick and give him some competition. Smith is still expected to start Week 1, but he shouldn't be starting for your fantasy team(s) until he can shake his inconsistencies.

Jets | Geno Smith focused on improving

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 05:51:18 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith is staying focused during organized team activities in the wake of comments made by OG Willie Colon that Smith "can't crash the green-and-white Porsche in Florham Park." Smith responded, "I think we all have to pull together and we all have to do our job," Smith said before a sharp practice on the second day of minicamp. "That's the key thing. What (Colon) said was that we need to be on top our game. I need to be on top of my game . . . and I believe that that's true. What he said in that regard wasn't wrong," said Smith.

Fantasy Tip: Smith will have the first opportunity to win the Jets' starting job at quarterback, but he'll only be a late-round flier in two-quarterback leagues, even if does. Smith has thrown 34 interceptions and fumbled eight times, compared to just 25 passing touchdowns and seven rushing touchdowns in his first two seasons in the league.

Jets | Brandon Marshall picked Geno Smith

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 19:23:35 -0700

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall picked the Jets as his favored landing spot during free agency because of how impressed he was with QB Geno Smith. "I was really shocked at the intelligence, how smart he was," Marshall said. "I had known him as a player from afar. I didn't know his football IQ was so high. He had crazy passion."

Fantasy Tip: Marshall's days of being a WR1 are long gone, but he should still see enough targets to flirt with WR2 value.

Jets | NY quarterbacks not impressing HC

Thu, 11 Jun 2015 15:24:46 -0700

New York Jets QBs Geno Smith, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Bryce Petty didn't thrill head coach Todd Bowles with their play during minicamp. "It's been up and down," Bowles said of Smith's performances. "He makes good throws, he makes some bad throws. There has to be more consistency for the quarterbacks overall."

Fantasy Tip: Smith's inconsistency at minicamp is indicative of how he's played throughout his career so far. He is still the favorite to start at quarterback for the Jets, but Fitzpatrick could give him a run for his money in training camp and beyond. Whoever starts will be a backup fantasy quarterback.

Jets | Geno Smith rebounds at minicamp

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 14:36:30 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith had a better practice at minicamp Wednesday, June 10, than he did Tuesday, June 9, when he threw three interceptions. Smith saw the majority of first-team repetitions and did not throw any interceptions this time around.

Fantasy Tip: Smith may have improved after one day of practice, but he has still proven to be an unreliable fantasy quarterback. He should be a bye-week replacement at best in any format.

Jets | Geno Smith to work out with teammates

Wed, 10 Jun 2015 09:51:51 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith is scheduled to work out with the running backs, wide receivers and tight ends for a week at some point before training camp. WR Brandon Marshall will be hosting the workouts in Chicago.

Fantasy Tip: Smith will enter training camp as the leading candidate for the starting quarterback job and may not face any competition. Working with his teammates should help Smith's chemistry with the players, but he should probably be seen as a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Jets | Geno Smith struggles

Tue, 09 Jun 2015 12:18:50 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith threw three interceptions during minicamp Tuesday, June 9, including two in the red zone.

Fantasy Tip: Smith threw 21 interceptions in his rookie season in 2013. He threw just 13 last year, however, in 14 games, but only threw 13 touchdowns. He's still in the good graces of HC Todd Bowles and the coaching staff, for now, but newly acquired QB Ryan Fitzpatrick could give a run for the starting position.

Jets | Geno Smith to see competition

Thu, 28 May 2015 05:29:50 -0700

Updating a previous report, New York Jets QB Geno Smith is currently working as the starter, according to Jets head coach Todd Bowles Wednesday, May 27. However, Smith will face competition during the summer. The job is Smith's to lose, per Bowles.

Fantasy Tip: This is slightly different than the comments made by Jets offensive coordinator Chan Gailey last week, but it makes perfectly good sense. Smith will have to flop before handing over the keys to QBs Ryan Fitzpatrick or Bryce Petty. Smith has enough talent around him to warrant occasional fantasy spot starts when the matchup is right.

Jets | Geno Smith is starter

Wed, 20 May 2015 11:55:28 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith is the starting quarterback and will not see competition in training camp, according to offensive coordinator Chan Gailey.

Fantasy Tip: This is somewhat of a surprise after the Jets signed Ryan Fitzpatrick this offseason, and taking into account the tumultuous start of Smith's career. Smith has all the tools he needs to be successful in his third year, particularly at wide receiver with Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. He's still not starter worthy in fantasy leagues, however.

Jets | Brandon Marshall working with QB

Sun, 10 May 2015 07:18:46 -0700

New York Jets WR Brandon Marshall said has been living with QB Geno Smith for time being, and the two players have been working on learning the offense. Marshall is expected to stay with Smith until late June when he finds his own place to live.

Fantasy Tip: Marshall and Smith should both benefit from working together now when the season begins. Marshall did see his stats drop this past season but he could still be a middle-round pick for owners. Smith finished off the 2014 strong but probably will not be more than a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Jets | Geno Smith says he deserves to start

Wed, 29 Apr 2015 13:23:25 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith believes the Jets are his team to lead, but acknowledges the competition he'll need to face in order to win the starting job. "There's always other guys, and there's always going to be competition. I've always welcomed it, and I still do," Smith said. The Jets brought in QB Ryan Fitzpatrick this offseason to compete with Smith and could bring in more competition via the draft.

Fantasy Tip: Smith has struggled during his two-year career with New York so far, though he did improve last season as far as protecting the football. Still, he's proven to be an unreliable quarterback for the Jets and for fantasy teams. He should be regarded as no more than a bye-week replacement if he is named starter.

Jets | Owner happy with Geno Smith

Wed, 29 Apr 2015 10:27:07 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith is a good starting quarterback if he cuts down on his mistakes, and the team needs to add some weapons on offense to help Smith, according to owner Woody Johnson. "He's going to mature," Johnson said. "He's not going to be making rookie mistakes anymore and he's not going to be making sophomore mistakes anymore, hopefully. If he can carry over the way he finished last year, when he played against the Dolphins [in the final game], he played OK. So if he can keep that going, we're good. We're going to get him more targets."

Fantasy Tip: The Jets has been linked to Marcus Mariota leading up to the draft, but it appears like Smith is the favorite for the starting job. Smith will have to compete with Ryan Fitzpatrick for the job during training camp. Smith likely would only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback next season if he is a starter.

Jets | Geno Smith not changing mechanics

Mon, 06 Apr 2015 14:02:42 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith flew to the west coast to work with throwing coach Tom House, but Smith said he didn't change his mechanics at all. "I didn't change anything. It's not a thing where I needed to change anything. It was basically, just go out there, work out and get better," Smith said.

Fantasy Tip: Smith will be battling Ryan Fitzpatrick during training camp for the starting quarterback job, and that's if the Jets don't take a QB in this year's draft. The offense has more potential with offseason acquisitions, but Smith is still a work in progress and isn't to be trusted in fantasy leagues.

Jets | Geno Smith has money at stake

Mon, 06 Apr 2015 11:50:18 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith has a lot at stake this offseason as far as money is concerned. About 32% of Smith's compensation this year is tied to offseason attendance. Smith must participate in around 80% of offseason workouts or he could miss out on approximately $276,328.

Fantasy Tip: Smith still isn't guaranteed the Jets' starting quarterback job, but he seems to be the frontrunner heading into offseason activities. Ryan Fitzpatrick will also compete to start. Neither are worth starting in fantasy lineups.

Jets | Geno Smith working with new WR

Mon, 06 Apr 2015 10:13:54 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith said he has been working with WR Brandon Marshall in order to start building chemistry with him. Smith has also worked with throwing coach Tom House in California this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Smith is probably the leading candidate for the starting quarterback job at this point, but he is expected to compete with Ryan Fitzpatrick in training camp and could also compete with a draft pick. Smith played well near the end of the season but probably would not be more than a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he wins the job. Marshall probably will be an option in the middle rounds of drafts since he is still a solid receiver.

Jets | Geno Smith to enter camp as starter

Tue, 24 Mar 2015 10:19:13 -0700

New York Jets QB Geno Smith will be the starting quarterback ahead of QB Ryan Fitzpatrick entering training camp this summer, according to new head coach Todd Bowles. "You can't have equal first-team reps with a quarterback," Bowles said. "Geno will start out taking them, but that doesn't mean that Ryan can't take his spot. If Ryan's playing better and performing better…" Bowles continues to say that it's too early to judge Smith off his tape alone.

Fantasy Tip: The quarterback battle could be far from over in New York, especially if they draft a QB in the first round this year. If not, Smith and Fitzpatrick will battle it out this summer, and neither is likely worth drafting in standard fantasy football leagues.

Jets | NYJ comfortable with QBs

Thu, 19 Mar 2015 12:36:38 -0700

New York Jets QBs Ryan Fitzpatrick and Geno Smith are expected to compete for the starting job during training camp, and general manager Mike Maccagnan said the team is comfortable with them as their top two quarterbacks.

Fantasy Tip: Smith will receive more work during offseason workouts since Fitzpatrick is recovering from a broken leg, but the two quarterbacks will compete for the starting job during training camp. Owners should consider whoever wins the job as a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

Jets | New York still committed to Geno Smith

Wed, 25 Feb 2015 10:59:32 -0800

New York Jets QB Geno Smith may not have big competition for the starting quarterback job, because the team is not committed to selecting a quarterback with the sixth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. The Jets are committed to make Smith a successful starting quarterback.

Fantasy Tip: Smith had a solid finish to the 2014 season with six touchdowns and two interceptions in the last four games. There is a chance that the Jets could add a quarterback during the offseason to compete with Smith, but Smith appears to be the leading candidate for the job. Smith should be considered a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy drafts next season.

Jets | Hope to turn Geno Smith into winner

Wed, 18 Feb 2015 20:16:55 -0800

New York Jets QB Geno Smith might soon have company despite the fact general manager Mike Maccagnan said the team is "committed" to trying to turn Smith into a winning quarterback. The team met with free-agent QB Josh McCown (Buccaneers) Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Smith has been mostly a disaster in his first two seasons, and he is certainly not a quarterback fantasy owners can pin their hopes to. Smith likely would need to take a giant leap forward to be the starter in Week 1 of the 2015 season.

Sat, 31 Jan 2015 10:00:04 -0800

New York Jets QB Geno Smith said he still hasn't received a definitive answer from head coach Todd Bowles on the team's quarterback situation.

Mon, 29 Dec 2014 11:26:03 -0800

New York Jets QB Geno Smith made a strong impression on the team's owner with his stellar Week 17 performance against the Miami Dolphins. "I think he's a young quarterback who in the last five games has gotten much, much better. ...I've got confidence in Geno. I really think he can be good."

Fantasy Tip: Dominating a meaningless Week 17 game won't do much for Smith's fantasy value heading into the 2015 season. A lot of change is coming in the Jets' coaching staff, which could further set Smith back in his development. He's nothing more than a weak QB2 for next season.

Jets | Geno Smith has high opinion of his play

Wed, 10 Dec 2014 19:31:37 -0800

New York Jets QB Geno Smith said Tuesday, Dec. 9, that he believes he has shown flashes of being a "Pro Bowl-caliber quarterback" this season. "But what we're looking for is consistency. The best teams have consistent quarterback play and I realize that and that's truly what I want to show the fans and everyone outside the building," Smith said. Smith has played 27 career games, and just six have ended without him throwing an interception. Nearly half of his games have ended with a passer rating below 70.

Fantasy Tip: Smith has only thrown one touchdown in his last three games, which does not make him a good option for fantasy owners. Smith only costs $3,800 on FantasyScore, but owners should be able to find better options.

Jets | Geno Smith avoided in game plan

New York Jets QB Geno Smith attempted just 13 passes in the team's 16-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins Monday, Dec. 1, finishing with 65 yards and an interception.

Fantasy Tip: Smith wasn't a viable fantasy option even after reclaiming the starting job, but the team's game plan Monday was an admission that the coaching staff has zero trust in the quarterback.

Fri, 28 Nov 2014 11:58:34 -0800

New York Jets QB Geno Smith is expected to be the starting quarterback for the remaining games this season, according to head coach Rex Ryan.
