St. Louis Cardinals SS Aledmys Diaz, C Yadier Molina and OFs Randal Grichuk and Matt Holliday are all out of the starting lineup in Game 2 against the San Diego Padres Wednesday, July 20. SS Greg Garcia is starting at the 6 and hitting leadoff, OF Tommy Pham is starting in center field and hitting fifth, OF Jeremy Hazelbaker is in left field and batting sixth and C Alberto Rosario is doing the catching and batting eighth against Padres SP Paul Clemens.
Fantasy Tip: Against Clemens, who is making his first start of the year, all Cardinals hitters are worth considering as value picks in DFS action. However, the replacements are more of deep sleepers to help you save salary cap space if you're feeling bold. Rosario should probably still be ignored hitting down in the order.

St. Louis Cardinals SS Aledmys Diaz has reached base safely in 22 consecutive games, which is the longest mark by a rookie in 2016.
Fantasy Tip: Diaz has a .308-3-11 line this month with a whopping .438 on-base percentage. He has been a true diamond in the rough, but at some point you may think about selling high. He was likely a waiver claim, and his value has never been higher. It's food for thought if you can fortify elsewhere for your run at a title.

St. Louis Cardinals rookie SS Aledmys Diaz continued to prove why he belongs in the 2016 All-Star Game with a three-run blast in the ninth inning of an 8-1 rout of the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday, July 9.
Fantasy Tip: The game was tight until the ninth, when Tommy Phan and Diaz each went deep off Michael Blazek. Diaz, who missed three contests late last month with an eye injury, has at least one hit in 11 of his last 12 games and homered three times in his last seven contests. The 25-year-old Cuban is batting .316 with 13 home runs and 48 RBI to go along with 56 runs scored, making him a top-10 fantasy shortstop in most leagues.

St. Louis Cardinals SS Aledmys Diaz went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday, July 6.
Fantasy Tip: Over his last 13 games, Diaz is 20-for-48 (.417) with 4 home runs, 12 RBI and 10 runs scored. With a .319-12-44 line, the rookie should be owned in all formats and is a legitimate starting option.

St. Louis Cardinals SS Aledmys Diaz (eye) is starting at shortstop and batting second against Milwaukee Brewers SP Matt Garza Friday, July 1.
Fantasy Tip: Diaz should be returned to starting lineups in all settings, as he's emerged as a reliable starting shortstop thus far in 2016. He sits with an impressive 50 runs, 10 home runs, 40 RBI with a .316/.374/.523 slash line, after all.

Updating a previous report, St. Louis Cardinals SS Aledmys Diaz (eye) and Stephen Piscotty (ankle) are available off the bench for the game against the Kansas City Royals Thursday, June 30, according to manager Mike Matheny.
Fantasy Tip: Diaz and Piscotty stand to return to the starting lineup sooner than later, but you'll still want to double-check their statuses before locking them into your lineups Friday, July 1, especially in daily contests. Both are viable starters in all seasonal setups.
