Sat, 05 Nov 2016 11:30:23 -0700
The Kansas City Chiefs re-signed RB Knile Davis (Packers) on Saturday, Nov. 5.
Fantasy Tip: Davis has certainly had an interesting last few weeks, getting traded from Kansas City to the Green Bay Packers in mid-October before getting waived two weeks later. He was claimed by the New York Jets and stayed on the roster for roughly two hours before getting replaced by C.J. Spiller. Given his familiarity with the offense, Davis - and not Bishop Sankey - could actually end up spelling Charcandrick West this weekend if necessary.
Tue, 01 Nov 2016 16:11:14 -0700
Free-agent RB C.J. Spiller (Seahawks) is finalizing a deal with the New York Jets, who will subsequently release RB Knile Davis.
Tue, 01 Nov 2016 13:58:54 -0700
Free-agent RB Knile Davis (Packers) was claimed off waivers by the New York Jets Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Mon, 31 Oct 2016 15:10:34 -0700
Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Knile Davis (Packers) cost the Green Bay Packers nothing in their trade with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Packers had a window for releasing Davis at no cost.
Mon, 31 Oct 2016 13:47:52 -0700
Green Bay Packers RB Knile Davis was released Monday, Oct. 31, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: This is somewhat of a surprising move since both Eddie Lacy and James Starks are still injured. Starks could return in the near future, but it's up to Ty Montgomery and Don Jackson to take over the backfield now. Even Montgomery missed Week 8 due to his sickle cell trait. Aaron Rodgers will continue to throw often, but Don Jackson is an under-the-radar waiver wire pickup.
Sun, 30 Oct 2016 21:51:45 -0700
Green Bay Packers RB Knile Davis rushed three times for four yards and he had two receptions for four yards in the Week 8 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Fantasy Tip: Davis is still fairly new to the system and has been thrust into action, along with practice squad RB Don Jackson, and neither did much with their opportunity. Davis is worth a roster spot as a reserve in most fantasy leagues, but he should be starting until he shows some consistency and comfort with his new team.
Thu, 27 Oct 2016 06:54:20 -0700
Green Bay Packers RB Knile Davis is in the game plan for Week 8, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.
Fantasy Tip: Davis could be a big part of the running game if the team determines Don Jackson's hand injury presents a ball-security risk. The matchup against the Atlanta Falcons isn't great, though, and the team threw it a whopping 56 times last week. If Davis is the lead back, he may not have enough rushes to offset the tough matchup. He's a flex option for Week 8.
Wed, 19 Oct 2016 22:26:58 -0700
Green Bay Packers RB Knile Davis worked with the scout team Wednesday, Oct. 19, while RB Don Jackson and WR Ty Montgomery spent a majority of the practice at running back. "I did scout team, that was good to get my feet wet," Davis said. "I did special teams. It was cool. All day today, all day tomorrow, before the game. (I'll be) trying to learn as much as I can."
Fantasy Tip: It certainly doesn't sound like Davis is in line for a meaningful role in Thursday's game with Chicago. He is worth adding in deeper fantasy leagues, but only as a speculative pick for future weeks if Eddie Lacy and James Starks remain sidelined.
Tue, 18 Oct 2016 15:53:33 -0700
Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers RB Knile Davis was acquired in exchange for a conditional 2018 seventh-round pick, according to a source.
Tue, 18 Oct 2016 06:17:56 -0700
Updating an earlier report, Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis was shipped to the Green Bay Packers for a conditional late-round draft pick, according to a source.
Tue, 18 Oct 2016 05:27:00 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis was acquired by the Green Bay Packers Tuesday, Oct. 18, for an undisclosed package.
Fantasy Tip: Davis will have value right away with James Starks (knee) out a month, and Eddie Lacy (ankle) banged up. Davis had three big games early in the 2014 season and never resurfaced in the fantasy landscape. He's worth picking up as an RB5 in most leagues.
Sun, 16 Oct 2016 11:45:29 -0700
The Kansas City Chiefs have declared OT Bryan Witzmann, OG Jordan Devey, CB Kenneth Acker, RB Knile Davis, TE Ross Travis, LB Sio Moore, QB Tyler Bray inactive for Week 6.
Fri, 14 Oct 2016 17:06:30 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs LB Tamba Hali (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 14, but is not on the injury report for Week 6. RB Knile Davis (concussion), CB Phillip Gaines (knee), LB Sio Moore (illness) and OT Jah Reid (knee) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.
Thu, 13 Oct 2016 15:59:10 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs LB Tamba Hali (knee) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 13. RB Knile Davis (concussion), CB Phillip Gaines (knee), LB Sio Moore (illness) and OT Jah Reid (knee) participated fully.
Wed, 12 Oct 2016 17:13:04 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs LB Tamba Hali (knee) and LB Sio Moore (illness) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 12. RB Knile Davis (concussion), CB Phillip Gaines (knee) and OT Jah Reid (knee) fully participated in practice.
Sun, 02 Oct 2016 19:50:31 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis (concussion) is being checked for concussion in the second half of the Week 4 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fantasy Tip: With Charcandrick West sidelined, and Jamaal Charles limited in his return from a long-term knee injury, Davis had a chance at meaningful playing time. That's out, and his fantasy appeal remains minimal.
Fri, 09 Sep 2016 18:50:38 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware is likely to start against the San Diego Chargers in Week 1, according to head coach Andy Reid, but Reid said RB Charcandrick West and RB Knile Davis will also be used.
Fantasy Tip: If you plan on gambling on one of Kansas City's backs in Week 1, Ware is your best bet.
Mon, 29 Aug 2016 15:55:20 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis is still available for trade. He had been shopped earlier this offseason.
Tue, 02 Aug 2016 18:25:18 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis has been working on his hands over the past few months, and feels confident he can be a threat down the field as well.
Fantasy Tip: Davis is behind Jamaal Charles and Spencer Ware on the depth chart, while battling Charcandrick West for touches, so he has to improve to make himself more attractive. He is worth a late-round flier in case one of the other backs go down. We saw a rash of injuries in K.C. last season which led to the emergence of Ware and West as fantasy options.
Thu, 26 May 2016 18:34:00 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis denies requesting a trade this offseason, but he said he looks forward to the opportunity to show what he can do on the field.
Fantasy Tip: Davis may not have asked for a trade, but he would certainly benefit from a change of scenery. He isn't worth owning if he stays in Kansas City, but he could be a late-round option in the right spot.
Wed, 27 Apr 2016 17:24:22 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis is being shopped to other teams.
Fantasy Tip: Davis likely would be a No. 2 running back if he is traded to another team. Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation to see if he will be moved. Davis could be a late-round option in deeper leagues depending on his team.
Thu, 31 Mar 2016 11:47:35 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis is a player the Miami Dolphins have expressed interest in. Davis is believed to be on the trade block. The Dolphins also expressed interest in RBs Jamaal Charles, Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware, but those talks appeared to go nowhere.
Fantasy Tip: Davis could be an RB3 if he landed in a prominent situation like Miami.
Thu, 31 Mar 2016 09:39:59 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis is involved in active trade discussions that the team has been working on for several weeks.
Fantasy Tip: Davis is blocked in KC, and he could land in a larger role elsewhere. It's purely speculation, but the Miami Dolphins have been scavenging for running backs. He could be an RB3 with upside if he lands in a situation like that.
Sun, 29 Nov 2015 07:05:31 -0800
Kansas City Chiefs RB Spencer Ware will be the starting running back for Week 12's game against the Buffalo Bills. RB Knile Davis will also be active for the game. RB Charcandrick West (hamstring) is considered a long-shot to play, although the condition of his hamstring has improved.
Fantasy Tip: Ware ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) had 96 yards on 11 carries with two touchdowns in Week 11's game against the San Diego Chargers and should be a solid option in all fantasy formats this week. Davis ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and West ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore.
Sun, 22 Nov 2015 12:01:35 -0800
The Kansas City Chiefs have declared QB Aaron Murray, DL Allen Bailey, OG Ben Grubbs, DL David King, DL Dee Ford, RB Knile Davis, LB Ramik Wilson inactive for Week 11.
Sun, 15 Nov 2015 12:16:25 -0800
The Kansas City Chiefs have declared QB Aaron Murray, DL Allen Bailey, OG Ben Grubbs, TE James O'Shaughnessy, RB Knile Davis, CB Marcus Cooper, LB Ramik Wilson inactive for Week 10.
Sun, 15 Nov 2015 12:13:36 -0800
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis is inactive against the Denver Broncos Sunday, Nov. 15. RB Spencer Ware should back up RB Charcandrick West.
Fantasy Tip: Ware will play sparingly as long as West is healthy. Davis' fantasy value appears to be nearly non-existent at this point.
Sun, 15 Nov 2015 08:30:14 -0800
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis is expected to be deactivated for Week 10's game against the Denver Broncos. RB Spencer Ware is expected to serve as the backup to RB Charcandrick West.
Fantasy Tip: Davis ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) has averaged just 2.4 yards per carry on 21 rushing attempts this season and hasn't seen an increase in playing time despite Jamaal Charles going down with a season-ending knee injury in Week 5. Ware ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has four carries for 20 yards over the past two weeks. Neither player is a great fantasy option at this point.
Sun, 18 Oct 2015 21:42:35 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis carried five times for 13 yards in the Week 6 game against the Minnesota Vikings, and he added one catch for 12 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Davis ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) was behind Charcandrick West ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) for touches as the duo fills in for Jamaal Charles, who is done for the season. West didn't do much with his opportunity, either, and right now it's probably best to avoid both until they get their sea legs and get used to handling full-time chores.
Sat, 17 Oct 2015 15:35:39 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Charcandrick West has the team eager to see what he can do in Week 6. "Quietly, they kind of like West," ESPN.com's Adam Teicher said. "The term has been used to me, 'a poor man's Jamaal Charles.' They think there are a lot of similarities in how they go about business. Now, he's not as good as Charles, don't mistake that. But they're kind of eager to see what he can do." Teicher said RB Knile Davis could get more of the goal-line opportunities because he's the bigger back. But the Chiefs might prefer West in every other situation since he's a much better pass-catcher, a more versatile runner and likely at least as good in pass protection. Teicher doesn't expect any running back to carry the load the way Charles did. But if one does emerge in that role down the road, West has a better chance than Davis.
Fantasy Tip: West ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) faces the Minnesota Vikings, who are in the middle of the pack as far as defending the running back position. West has some upside at a midrange price on FantasyScore.
Mon, 12 Oct 2015 09:45:39 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RBs Charcandrick West and Knile Davis both expect to split carries with RB Jamaal Charles (knee) expected to miss the rest of the season, and head coach Andy Reid said the two running backs will continue to split time without committing to anything on the depth chart. West had seven carries for 31 yards while Davis had just two carries for two yards in Week 5. "I'm not saying who is or is not the feature guy, but we need both of them," Reid said. "Both their games are different. We'll just see how that goes. You saw both of them played today, so we'll get back to the drawing board on that and get it right."
Fantasy Tip: West has been the primary backup to Charles this year after a solid preseason, so he'll likely have the first shot at the majority of the carries for the rest of the year. He's the pickup if you own Charles or are desperate for another running back. However, don't expect a ton of production from either West or Davis with Charles out of the picture.
Sun, 11 Oct 2015 15:39:19 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis ran just twice for two yards in the Week 5 game against the Chicago Bears, even after RB Jamaal Charles (knee) went down. It was RB Charcandrick West seeing the bulk of the carries once Charles left.
Fantasy Tip: Davis ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) might have some FantasyScore value going forward if Charles is lost for the season due to an ACL injury, but West ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) might be the better play given the sneak peek Sunday.
Wed, 26 Aug 2015 14:44:40 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis has been playing more this preseason. Davis said he's been enjoying the extra repetitions as RB Jamaal Charles rests. "This is what the preseason is for," Davis said. "Everyone knows who the starters are. Backups get the opportunity to show what they can do." Offensive coordinator Doug Pederson said the one aspect of Davis' game that has stood out is his ability to catch the football. Davis said he'd like to continue his catching consistency and give the Chiefs versatility as a receiver.
Fantasy Tip: Davis was actually a quiet produces last season even with Charles relatively healthy. Davis totaled nearly 700 yards and seven touchdowns. He could make for a nice PPR sleeper this season if he's used enough and/or if Charles is injured.
Mon, 29 Sep 2014 21:02:53 -0700
Kansas City Cheifs RB Knile Davis rushed for a team-high 107 yards on 16 carries in Week 5 and added one catch for 12 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Davis saw some extra touches later in the game because Jamaal Charles exited with cramps and the game turned into a blowout. He has proven he can be productive when given enough touches, but expect him to play second fiddle to Charles most weeks.
Sat, 27 Sep 2014 14:10:02 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (ankle) is listed as probable for Week 4. He was limited in practice again Saturday, Sept. 27.
Fantasy Tip: Charles ($8,300; 16.6% of your cap) carries a bit of risk, but he's usually worth the investment. Knile Davis ($7,700; 15.4%) is a player to avoid on FantasyScore this week.
Thu, 25 Sep 2014 07:43:59 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (ankle) will have his role expanded in practice Thursday, Sept. 25.
Fantasy Tip: Charles ($8,300; 16.6% of your cap) seems to have a good chance to play this week. However, he would need to play something resembling a full load to justify his price tag on FantasyScore. The same can be said for Knile Davis ($7,700; 15.4%), who is a good play if Charles sits. However, if Charles returns and they share the load, both of them could be risky plays.
Sun, 21 Sep 2014 06:37:41 -0700
Updating an earlier report, Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (ankle) is not expecting to play Sunday, Sept. 21, but he will test his ankle on in pre-game warm-ups. RB Knile Davis would be the starter if Charles doesn't suit up.
Fantasy Tip: Davis ($5,700; 11.4% of your cap) is a solid RB2 on FantasyScore this week if Charles doesn't play.
Sun, 21 Sep 2014 06:28:42 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (ankle) has a real chance to play Sunday, Sept. 21, and will be a game-time decision. Charles has more of a bruise than a high ankle sprain.
Fantasy Tip: Charles ($8,400; 16.8% of your cap) could be a little too pricey on FantasyScore to consider this week. Knile Davis ($5,700; 11.4%) is a great play this week if Charles doesn't go.
Fri, 19 Sep 2014 21:23:31 -0700
Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs RBs Jamaal Charles (ankle) and Knile Davis split first-team reps in practice Friday, Sept. 19. Davis was the running back for the first snap of practice, and then Charles took the next two snaps. Officially, Charles was listed as a limited participant. He spent time running some light pass patterns and caugh passes with the rest of the team's receivers and backs.
Fantasy Tip: Charles is still a bit of a question mark, and FantasyScore owners might not want to commit $8400 (or 16.8 percent of salary cap space) on a player who might see limited reps, or potentially no reps at all. In fact, Davis might be the better play at $5700 (or 11.4 percent of salary cap space). Watch the situation closely before finalizing your lineup.
Fri, 19 Sep 2014 11:17:26 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (ankle) was practicing with the team for the second straight day Friday, Sept. 19, after missing practice Wednesday, Sept. 17, with a high ankle sprain. Charles' official status on the injury report has not been released yet. Charles ran light patterns and caught passes with the receivers and running backs after warming up Friday. RB Knile Davis took the first snap of practice with the starting offense, but Charles took the next two snaps.
Fantasy Tip: This is a tricky situation. Charles will likely be listed as questionable, and he could be a game-time decision. It's a huge risk at FantasyScore for $8,400, especially with the Chiefs playing the Miami Dolphins in the afternoon. Davis ($5,700) becomes a risk, too.
Tue, 16 Sep 2014 06:24:45 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles' (ankle) high ankle sprain does not appear to be severe, according to head coach Andy Reid. His status is unknown.
Fantasy Tip: High ankle sprains generally cost players multiple weeks. Charles ($8,400; 16.8% of your cap) should be avoided on FantasyScore this week even if he plays. Knile Davis is expected to take over in Charles' role and makes a great RB3 ($5,700; 11.4%) this week.
Tue, 16 Sep 2014 06:17:05 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis' insertion into the starting lineup would not alter the team's game plan, according to head coach Andy Reid.
Fantasy Tip: Davis is a great value at $5,700 (11.4% of your cap) on FantasyScore as an RB3.
Mon, 15 Sep 2014 05:58:13 -0700
Updating previous reports, Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (ankle) had X-rays on his ankle, which were negative. He'll still undergo an MRI to determine if he has any ligament damage.
Fantasy Tip: His status for Week 3 is unknown, but Knile Davis is a good player to target for now.
Sun, 14 Sep 2014 18:44:30 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis ran 22 times for 79 yards and two touchdowns against the Denver Broncos in a Week 2 loss in place of RB Jamaal Charles (ankle).
Fantasy Tip: It's unknown at this time how much time Charles will be forced to miss with a sprained ankle. Regardless, Davis will be a popular waiver-wire addition heading into Week 3, at least as a handcuff for Charles owners.
Sun, 17 Aug 2014 14:41:15 -0700
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (foot) will not play in the second preseason game due to a bruised foot. RB Knile Davis will start in his place.
Fantasy Tip: The team isn't overly concerned with the injury, and fantasy owners shouldn't worry either.
