Cardinals | Alex Reyes to pitch at AAA

Tue, 17 May 2016 23:19:38 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals SP Alex Reyes will make his season debut at Class AAA Memphis Sunday, May 22, after serving a 50-game suspension. His fastball has been clocked at 101 mph in extended spring training.

Fantasy Tip: Reyes is likely to make his major league debut at some point this season, and the Cards' rotation has been shaky. If someone goes down, he's likely on the short list to replace them once he gets a few starts in. He should be stashed in NL-only leagues and deeper mixed leagues.

Cardinals | Alex Reyes suspended

Tue, 10 Nov 2015 05:09:54 -0800

St. Louis Cardinals SP Alex Reyes was suspended 50 games for testing positive for a drug of abuse. Reyes said he tested positive for marijuana. Reyes struck out 151 in 101 1/3 innings at Single-A and Double-A this past season.

Fantasy Tip: Reyes could have possibly made it to the majors this season, but that appears grim right now. He's still worth stashing in dynasty leagues.

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 08:23:30 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals SP Alex Reyes (shoulder) is on the disabled list in the minors with shoulder soreness. He has had several scans, which revealed no structural damage. He won't pitch in the Futures Game because of the issue.

Fantasy Tip: Reyes has 90 strikeouts in 60 2/3 innings at Class A Palm Beach and is a good dynasty league asset.
