Twins | Minnesota resting three players

Sun, 17 Jul 2016 09:51:24 -0700

Minnesota Twins 1B Joe Mauer, 3B Miguel Sano and CB Byron Buxton are not in the starting lineup against Cleveland Indians SP Josh Tomlin Sunday, July 17. SS Eduardo Nunez will start at third base, while OF Robbie Grossman will serve as the designated hitter. 1B Kennys Vargas will start at first base and is batting third. OF Eddie Rosario will start in left field and is batting sixth, while OF Danny Santana will start in center field and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Vargas is hitting .400 with three home runs and four RBI since being recalled from the minor leagues and should be a decent option in daily fantasy leagues. Rosario has 12 hits in his last five games and should be used in starting lineups. Santana has at least one hit in five of his last seven games, but owners probably will be able to find better options.

Indians | Danny Salazar spins bullpen session

Fri, 15 Jul 2016 14:42:06 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Danny Santana (elbow) threw a bullpen session Friday, July 15, and felt great.

Fantasy Tip: Salazar is scheduled to start next against the Kansas City Royals Tuesday, July 19. Unless a cause for concern arises between now and Tuesday, Salazar should be started confidently. He's been a fantasy ace thus far with 10 wins, a 2.75 ERA, a 1.18 WHIP and 118 strikeouts through 104 2/3 innings.

Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton (knee) is out of the lineup Saturday, July 9. OF Danny Santana will play center field and bat ninth against Texas Rangers SP Kyle Lohse.

Fantasy Tip: Santana has some speed, but he doesn't have much upside batting ninth.
