Toronto Blue Jays C A.J. Jimenez (elbow, shoulder) is confident his arm problems are behind him, and he said Wednesday, Feb. 19, that he is at 100 percent heading into camp. "This is the first time I come to spring training and I can say I'm healthy," Jimenez said. He spent the offseason building arm strength and gaining weight, 25 pounds in all. Over the past few years, he found himself losing weight and stamina as the season wore on. "Going to the gym and doing my work and eating a lot," Jimenez said.

The Toronto Blue Jays have C J.P. Arencibia as their starter, with major league veterans C Henry Blanco and Josh Thole vying for the backup job. As such, prospect C A.J. Jimenez, who has just 105 at-bats at Double-A, has been pulled off the fast track by the team. "We don't want him to feel rushed and have to rely on him to be the backup early (in the majors) when he continues to need at-bats," general manager Alex Anthopoulos said Friday, Jan. 18.
