Athletics | Billy Burns out of the lineup

Mon, 30 May 2016 10:18:08 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Billy Burns is not in the starting lineup against Minnesota Twins SP Ervin Santana Monday, May 30. OF Coco Crisp will start in center field, while OF Khris Davis will start in left field. 1B Billy Butler will serve as the designated hitter and is batting sixth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Butler has been a bit inconsistent at the plate over the last few weeks but does have three hits and five RBI over the last two games. Butler can be a decent starting option in daily fantasy leagues because of his recent play.

Athletics | Khris Davis on homer binge

Sat, 28 May 2016 17:27:55 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Khris Davis went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, three RBI and two runs scored in a 12-3 win over the Detroit Tigers Saturday, May 28, and his 11 home runs this month are the most in the majors.

Fantasy Tip: Davis' .237 average won't do you any favors, but he has the power to his 30-plus homers. He is worth owning in deeper mixed leagues and makes a high-upside play in daily formats.

Athletics | Khris Davis back in the lineup

Mon, 23 May 2016 17:56:34 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Khris Davis (forearm) will serve as the designated hitter against Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker Monday, May 23. 1B Max Muncy is not in the starting lineup, while OF Jake Smolinski will start at right field and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Davis is hitting .300 with four home runs and eight RBI over the last seven days but is a risky option because of the injury. Smolinski is hitting only .111 since joining Oakland and should be avoided in all leagues.

Athletics | Billy Burns out of lineup

Fri, 20 May 2016 14:51:59 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Billy Burns is not in the starting lineup against New York Yankees left-handed SP CC Sabathia Friday, May 20. OF Khris Davis moves to left field and is hitting cleanup, while C Matt McBride draws a start at designated hitter and is batting eighth. SS Marcus Semien moves up to the two-hole.

Fantasy Tip: Both Davis and Semien have big-time power at their positions, but they aren't doing you any favors in the average department. Semien's daily outlook perks up with the move to the two-hole, and both he and Davis are good picks in DFS tonight against Sabathia, who is making his first start since coming off the DL. McBride should be nothing more than a desperation flier.

Athletics | Two A's are red hot at the plate

Thu, 19 May 2016 16:21:47 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Khris Davis and 3B Danny Valencia each have 11 RBI in their last six games. In addition, Davis has five homers while Valencia has hit six over that stretch.

Fantasy Tip: Without question, both players are of the must-own variety right now. Davis came into 2016 as an interesting sleeper pick, getting the chance to anchor a lineup after displaying impressive power potential throughout his tenure in Milwaukee, and he's delivered for those who drafted him. Valencia, meanwhile, appears to be over his hamstring issue and is picking up where he left off from last year's impressive second half.

Athletics | Khris Davis homers again Wednesday

Wed, 18 May 2016 18:02:14 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Khris Davis went 2-for-2 with a home run, two walks, two RBI and two runs scored against the Texas Rangers Wednesday, May 18. He leads the majors in home runs (nine) and RBI (20) during the month of May.

Fantasy Tip: Davis is a must-start in daily fantasy contests for the foreseeable future after slamming four home runs in his last two games. Odds are that this hot stretch has also resulted in him being owned in the majority of seasonal leagues as well.

Athletics | Khris Davis mashes three homers

Tue, 17 May 2016 23:33:08 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Khris Davis had himself a night Tuesday, May 17, as he drilled three home runs against the Texas Rangers. For the game, he finished 3-for-5 with three runs scored and six RBI.

Fantasy Tip: If you missed out on the Davis bandwagon, it's probably too late to latch on in most leagues. The 28-year-old got out to a real slow start in his first year in Oakland, but he's picked it up considerably in May, in which he now has eight homers for the month. Owners would like him to bring that batting average up a bit, though as long as he's consistently going deep, it's hard to argue with his output. He also already has 19 RBI in May, too.

Athletics | Josh Reddick sitting out

Sun, 15 May 2016 08:34:41 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Josh Reddick is not in the starting lineup against Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore Sunday, May 15. OF Billy Burns will start in right field, while OF Khris Davis will start in left field. 1B Billy Butler will serve as the designated hitter and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Burns and Davis have been playing well recently and should be starting candidates in most leagues. Butler is hitting .200 with three RBI in May and may not be the best option for owners to consider.

Athletics | Khris Davis drives in three runs

Fri, 13 May 2016 19:32:42 -0700

Oakland Athletics OF Khris Davis went 1-for-5 with a home run and three RBI against the Tampa Bay Rays Friday, May 13.

Fantasy Tip: Davis has homered five times in his last nine contests and has eight home runs and 21 RBI through 33 games this season. He's worth considering as a value play in the outfield in daily fantasy formats.
