Chicago Cubs manager Dale Sveum doesn't expect RP Kyuji Fujikawa (elbow) to return before the 2014 All-Star break in a best-case scenario. "That's pretty wishful thinking," Sveum said. "Everybody's different with that surgery. Some guys are back in eight months. With some guys, it takes awhile. You just never know."

Fantasy Tip: He's still worth ownership and monitoring in dynasty leagues because he's still in the long-term closer picture.

Chicago Cubs manager Dale Sveum said RP Kyuji Fujikawa will be used in earlier innings for the time being so the team can make sure he is fine. "We'll ease him in right now to make sure everything is good — velocity, command, life," Sveum said. "We'll ease him into whatever situation, sixth, seventh inning, depending on the score of the game, obviously."
Fantasy Tip: Fujikawa may not be used in late-inning situations at this point but should be owned in deep mixed leagues because Kevin Gregg only had a small sample size to prove himself and Carlos Marmol has struggled in the closer role.

The Chicago Cubs activated RP Kyuji Fujikawa (forearm) from the 15-day disabled list Friday, May 10, and optioned RP Rafael Dolis to the minors in a corresponding move. Also RP Kameron Loe refused his minor league assignment and has become a free agent.
Fantasy Tip: Fujikawa won't immediately move back into the closer's role. Dale Sveum announced recently that Kevin Gregg is basically the closer right now thanks to his success closing out games. Fujikawa should be expected to setup alongside Carlos Marmol for the time being, but he could snare some save opps from Gregg if he stumbles. Fujikawa is worth owning in deep mixed leagues.
