The Arizona Diamondbacks have acquired RP Heath Bell and cash considerations from the Miami Marlins for INF Yordy Cabrera.
Fantasy Tip: The bells didn't exactly toll for Bell in Miami. He lost his handle on ninth-inning duties early in the year and never really rebounded, posting a 5.09 ERA and only 19 saves. He didn't see eye to eye with skipper Ozzie Guillen, either. A move back to the West coast may be what he needs to resurface. However, the fact that he relied less on his fastball and wasn't able to generate as many swings and misses from it is concerning, especially moving to a more hitter-friendly environment. He has some work to do to convince the D-backs coaching staff that he's still the same pitcher he was in San Diego. Earning save opps won't be entirely up to him, either; incumbent fireman J.J. Putz will have to falter or succumb to injury. Bell will be a cheap yet risky source of holds - and possibly saves - in drafts next year.

The Oakland Athletics have acquired OF Chris B. Young and cash considerations from the Arizona Diamondbacks for SS Cliff Pennington and INF Yordy Cabrera.
Fantasy Tip: Young's acquisition crowds Oakland's outfield picture even further, with Yoenis Cespedes, Coco Crisp, Josh Reddick, Seth Smith and Jonny Gomes also in the picture. Young's disappointing season was largely the result of a shoulder injury that left him unable to regain his early season power stroke. Despite an uninspiring career BA clip, he remains a 20-20 commodity, but he loses a bit of that luster going to O.co Coliseum. Pennington joins the shortstop competition with Willie Bloomquist and John McDonald in Arizona. None of the options are exciting for fantasy purposes, aside from their positional flexibility for MI depth in deep and NL-only leagues.
