The Philadelphia Phillies hired former 1B Wally Joyner as their assistant hitting coach Monday, Oct. 15. Joyner will work alongside hitting coach Steve Henderson.

The Philadelphia Phillies named roving hitting instructor Steve Henderson as the new hitting coach and also named Triple-A Lehigh Valley pitching coach Rod Nichols as the new bullpen coach. The Phillies will go without a bench coach next year. Mick Billmeyer was promoted to catching coach. Juan Samuel was offered the first base job but has yet to accept.
