Red Sox | Brock Holt back Wednesday?

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 13:59:08 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Brock Holt (knee) is likely to return to the starting lineup Wednesday, July 29. Holt was working out on the field Tuesday, July 28.

Fantasy Tip: Holt ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is missed by the Red Sox due to his versatility, but the good news is it looks like he will be back sooner rather than later. Give him a game to get his legs back, but Holt should snap back quickly.

Red Sox | Brock Holt expected back soon

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 13:53:32 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Brock Holt (knee) is expected to return to the starting lineup Tuesday, July 27.

Fantasy Tip: Holt ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) recently suffered a hyperextended knee, but it does not appear to be a major concern. Holt has been playing well this season and could be a solid starting option on FantasyScore when he returns from the injury.

Red Sox | Brock Holt exits game

Sun, 26 Jul 2015 19:05:24 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Brock Holt (knee) left with tightness in his left knee against the Detroit Tigers Sunday, July 26, and was replaced by 2B Jemile Weeks.

Fantasy Tip: Stay tuned for more information on Holt's ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) status going forward. Weeks will be seeing his first action of the season, and even he makes a few more appearances, he doesn't have much fantasy value.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia remains out

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 13:26:09 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Justin Verlander Friday, July 24. OF Brock Holt will start at second base and is batting second in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye out to see when Pedroia ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) will be able to play again. Holt ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has recorded at least one hit in 14 of his last 17 games and could be a solid starting option on FantasyScore.

Red Sox | Dustin Pedroia on the bench Thursday

Thu, 23 Jul 2015 13:24:11 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Dustin Pedroia will not be in the starting lineup Thursday, July 23. 2B Brock Holt will start at second base and bat second against Houston Astros SP Lance McCullers.

Fantasy Tip: Holt ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has only faced McCullers three times in his career, achieving one hit. Holt has had a decent month at the plate, though, posting at least one hit in 11 of 14 games. He's not the best option at second base, but you could do worse than rostering Holt on FantasyScore.

Red Sox | Pablo Sandoval sitting vs. 'Stros

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 15:38:08 -0700

Boston Red Sox 3B Pablo Sandoval is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 22. OF Brock Holt is starting at third base and batting second against Houston Astros SP Collin McHugh Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Sandoval ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has struggled in July with just a .246/.258/.279 slash line over 62 plate appearances. He can be avoided in the majority of fantasy formats until he turns it around at the dish. Holt ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) hasn't done much recently, either, though. He is riding an active 9-for-40 run with just three runs and a RBI. Aim higher FantasyScore players.

Red Sox | Brock Holt to move around

Thu, 16 Jul 2015 18:48:24 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Brock Holt will go back to "moving around" after the All-Star break, manager John Farrell said Thursday, July 16.

Fantasy Tip: Holt ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has been a solid source of cap relief at FantasyScore this year, but with Dustin Pedroia ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) set to return from a hamstring injury and Mike Napoli ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) being given another chance to turn around his season, Holt will go back to bouncing around to multiple positions depending on the day. He should still see plenty of playing time, but his status will need to be monitored on a game-to-game basis.

Red Sox | Brock Holt has cooled off

Fri, 10 Jul 2015 15:42:34 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Brock Holt has a .250/.304/.250 slash line with no extra-base hits of late, and his batting average has dropped 13 percentage points.

Fantasy Tip: Holt ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) should still continue to see pretty regular playing time at a multitude of positions once Dustin Pedroia comes off the DL, likely next week, keeping him fantasy-relevant in most formats. He remains quite valuable on FantasyScore at his price and with a spot in the two-hole Friday night against the New York Yankees.

Red Sox | Four-hit night for Brock Holt

Thu, 02 Jul 2015 20:59:09 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Brock Holt went 4-for-6 with a run scored and a steal in a 12-6 win over the Toronto Blue Jays Thursday, July 2.

Fantasy Tip: The four hits doubled his total from the previous eight games, and while the regular playing time he is receiving in the wake of a Dustin Pedroia injury could be taking a bit of a toll, Holt ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is still worth a look as a mid-priced option at FantasyScore against solid matchups.

Red Sox | Brock Holt has cooled off

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 10:28:55 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Brock Holt, who is taking the day off Wednesday, July 1, has just four hits in his last 32 at-bats (.125). He had played every inning of every game since June 5 and also collided with Toronto Blue Jays 2B Devon Travis Tuesday, June 30.

Fantasy Tip: Holt ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is still hitting .288 (59-for-205) despite his recent cold stretch, and he'll continue to see consistent playing time as long as Dustin Pedroia is on the DL. He'll continue to have short-term value in most fantasy formats, including on FantasyScore.
