Red Sox | Brock Holt batting second vs. White Sox

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 15:16:30 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Brock Holt is starting at third base and batting second against Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale Wednesday, Aug. 26. 3B Pablo Sandoval is not in the starting lineup Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Sandoval ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) draws out against southpaw Sale ($9,300, 18.6% of cap), as it is a daunting matchup, and Sandoval hasn't handled lefties well this season. Holt ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is riding a hot streak with a 1.139 OPS over his past seven games, but you're going against the grain starting Holt against Sale.

Red Sox | Brock Holt sitting out vs. White Sox

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 15:38:57 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Brock Holt is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Aug. 25. 2B Josh Rutledge is starting at the keystone and batting ninth against Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana Tuesday.

Fantasy Tip: Strangely, Holt ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) continues to draw out of the lineup in favor of Rutledge ($2,500, 5.0% of cap). The former is batting .300 in August with 10 runs and 11 RBI through 17 games. Rutledge, meanwhile, is hitting just .265, and he is nothing more than a low-priced flier at FantasyScore.

Red Sox | Brock Holt returns from injury

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 13:38:51 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Brock Holt (oblique) is back in the starting lineup at second base and hitting seventh against Chicago White Sox SP Jeff Samardzija Monday, Aug. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Holt ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) had been hitting further up the lineup before his injury, so this dampers his daily value a bit. However, he's facing a pitcher who has really struggled in August (23 earned runs in 22 1/3 innings) and has been very inconsistent all year. Holt isn't a bad under-the-radar pick tonight.

Red Sox | Brock Holt still sidelined

Sun, 23 Aug 2015 09:34:25 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Brock Holt (oblique) is not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Edinson Volquez Sunday, Aug. 23. 2B Josh Rutledge will start at second base and is batting ninth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation to see when Holt ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) will be able to return to the lineup. Rutledge ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is hitting .292 this month, but owners should be able to find better options to use.

Red Sox | Josh Rutledge starting at the keystone

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 14:07:37 -0700

Boston Red Sox 2B Josh Rutledge is starting at second base and batting ninth against Kansas City Royals SP Johnny Cueto Friday, Aug. 21. OF Brock Holt is not in the starting lineup Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Rutledge ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has started at second base over Holt ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) the past three games. It is a bit strange, as Rutledge sports an underwhelming .208/.310/.208 slash line over 29 plate appearances with the Red Sox. Holt is hitting .362 with seven runs and 10 RBI over his past 10 games, so expect him to start receiving more starts than Rutledge sooner than later. Against Cueto ($9,700, 19.4% of cap), Rutledge is a desperation play at FantasyScore Friday.

Red Sox | Brock Holt sitting again

Thu, 20 Aug 2015 14:33:38 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Brock Holt is out of the starting lineup again Thursday, Aug. 20. 2B Josh Rutledge is starting at second base and hitting ninth against Kansas City Royals SP Danny Duffy.

Fantasy Tip: Avoid Rutledge ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) on FantasyScore. He has only four hits (all singles) in 21 at-bats since joining Boston.

Red Sox | Day of rest for Xander Bogaerts

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 15:01:00 -0700

Boston Red Sox SS Xander Bogaerts is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 19. OF Brock Holt moves over to shortstop and 2B Josh Rutledge is starting at the keystone and hitting ninth against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber.

Fantasy Tip: Rutledge ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has four hits in 18 at-bats for the Red Sox this year. That should be enough to convince you not to click him tonight on FantasyScore, especially against Kluber.

Red Sox | Brock Holt has three-hit game

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 22:21:48 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Brock Holt went 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs Tuesday, Aug. 18, against the Cleveland Indians.

Fantasy Tip: Holt ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has caught fire over the past six games, going 14-for-29 (.483) with four doubles, two triples and eight RBIs to raise his average from .273 to .290 just since Aug. 11. Roll with him in FantasyScore until he cools off.

Red Sox | Brock Holt on a tear

Sun, 16 Aug 2015 17:09:10 -0700

Boston Red Sox 3B Brock Holt went 3-for-5 with a double, three runs scored, a walk and a steal in a 10-8 loss to the Seattle Mariners Sunday, Aug. 16, and he has four straight multi-hit games.

Fantasy Tip: Holt ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) driven in six and scored seven runs over his last four games, and when Boston's offense is clicking like it is right now, Holt becomes a bargain that shouldn't be ignored at FantasyScore.

Red Sox | No Brock Holt against Yanks

Thu, 06 Aug 2015 12:17:16 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Brock Holt is not in the starting lineup against New York Yankees left-handed SP CC Sabathia Thursday, Aug. 6. 2B Josh Rutledge is starting at second base and hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Rutledge ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has only seven at-bats this entire season, all with Boston, and has only one hit and two strikeouts. He's not much of an offensive force and probably isn't worth your time on FantasyScore even while facing the inconsistent Sabathia.
