White Sox | Avisail Garcia sitting out vs. Atlanta

Fri, 08 Jul 2016 13:09:16 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia is not in the starting lineup Friday, July 8. 2B Carlos Sanchez draws into the lineup at second base and is batting eighth against Atlanta Braves SP Matt Wisler Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Garcia is nearing bust territory given his .238/.307/.340 slash line and five home runs this season. Sanchez owns a career .314 slugging percentage through 554 plate appearances and shouldn't be in your daily contest plans Friday. He doesn't move the needle in seasonal leagues, either.

White Sox | Matt Davidson placed on disabled list

Fri, 01 Jul 2016 18:06:16 -0700

Chicago White Sox 3B Matt Davidson (foot) has been placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a fractured right foot. He sustained the injury while running the bases in a game versus the Minnesota Twins Thursday, June 30. In a corresponding move, INF Carlos Sanchez was promoted from Class AAA Charlotte.

Fantasy Tip: The 25-year-old Davidson was playing in his first MLB game since 2013 and had been named to the International League All-Star team after batting .268 with 10 home runs and 46 RBI in 75 games for Charlotte this year. Sanchez hit just .154 with one RBI in 29 plate appearances during his first stint with the parent club earlier this season and isn't a great fantasy option.

White Sox | Avisail Garcia out for Game 1

Mon, 23 May 2016 11:04:50 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Avisail Garcia is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Cleveland Indians Monday, May 23. 2B Brett Lawrie is serving as the designated hitter and batting sixth. 2B Carlos Sanchez gets a start at second base and is hitting seventh against Indians SP Michael Clevinger.

Fantasy Tip: Lawrie hasn't been producing lately and is 2-for-23 (.087) with just one double and 10 strikeouts in his last six games. Both he and Sanchez are options to avoid in DFS action this afternoon.

White Sox | Two players sitting for White Sox

Sun, 22 May 2016 10:03:17 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu and OF Avisail Garcia are not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Yordano Ventura. OF Jerry Sands will start at first base and is batting fifth. SS Jimmy Rollins will serve as the designated hitter, while SS Carlos Sanchez will start at shortstop and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Sands has three hits in his last two games and can be a sleeper option in some fantasy leagues. Sanchez has not recorded great numbers since being recalled and should be avoided in all leagues.

White Sox | Brett Lawrie, Avisail Garcia sitting

Thu, 19 May 2016 14:51:33 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Brett Lawrie and OF Avisail Garcia are not in the starting lineup Thursday, May 19. 2B Carlos Sanchez is starting at the keystone and hitting second, while OF Jerry Sands is serving as the designated hitter and is batting seventh against Houston Astros SP Collin McHugh. Also, SS Jimmy Rollins drops to sixth in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Lawrie is hitless in his last three games and is batting .228 (13-for-57) this month after a hot April. If you have other options, consider benching him for a spell in traditional leagues. Sanchez has never hit over .250 in three years in the majors and is a low-end middle infield option. Sands has respectable power but is another low-end dart throw in DFS play.

White Sox | Carlos Sanchez playing shortstop

Sun, 01 May 2016 08:50:02 -0700

Chicago White Sox INF Carlos Sanchez will bat second and start at shortstop against Baltimore Orioles SP Ubaldo Jimenez Sunday, May 1.

Fantasy Tip: SS Jimmy Rollins is out of the lineup for the second consecutive day but he is not believed to be injured. Sanchez should be viewed as nothing more than desperation cap relief in daily fantasy games.

White Sox | David Robertson out at least three days

Thu, 28 Apr 2016 11:09:38 -0700

Chicago White Sox RP David Robertson will be out for at least three days while on the bereavement list. 2B Carlos Sanchez will be recalled from the minors in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Nate Jones, who has a 0.84 ERA and nine K's in 10 2/3 innings this year, should take over the closing duties with Robertson out. Jones' short-term value sees a huge boost in the ninth-inning role, and those in daily transaction leagues in need of saves should add him immediately.

White Sox | Carlos Sanchez returns to lineup

Sat, 26 Sep 2015 10:59:29 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Carlos Sanchez will bat ninth against New York Yankees SP Adam Warren Saturday, Sept. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is just 1-for-16 against the Yankees this season and is hitting .189 with two home runs and six RBIs this month. Better second base options are available in FantasyScore, so he should be avoided.

White Sox | Gordon Beckham draws into lineup

Mon, 17 Aug 2015 15:27:57 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham is starting at second base and hitting ninth against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Andrew Heaney Monday, Aug. 17. 2B Carlos Sanchez is not in the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Never mind the terrible lineup position for Beckham ($3,200, 6.4% of cap), his .192 average (34-for-177) with four home runs and 18 RBI won't make him appeal to any daily fantasy gamers against the very effective Heaney.

White Sox | No Carlos Sanchez Wednesday

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 15:50:34 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Carlos Sanchez is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 12. 2B Gordon Beckham is starting at the keystone and hitting ninth against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Andrew Heaney.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) should be an afterthought for FantasyScore users, especially while hitting ninth in the batting order against a pretty good youngster. Beckham is hitting a meager .193 (34-for-176) with four home runs and 17 RBI this year.
