Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim C Carlos Perez is starting behind the plate against the Oakland Athletics Saturday, June 20, batting ninth.
Fantasy Tip: Perez ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is back in the lineup after getting the day off Friday, June 19. Although he is batting .264 overall, he is only 3-for-31 (.097) on the road, so you may want to look elsewhere for a FantasyScore catching option today.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim C Chris Iannetta is resting Saturday, June 6, against the New York Yankees. C Carlos Perez will start at catcher and hit seventh in the order against RHP Adam Warren.
Fantasy Tip: Perez ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) had multiple hits in four of his last five starts. Perez makes for an excellent FantasyScore option, with a very modest price tag.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim C Chris Iannetta is not in the starting lineup Monday, June 1. C Carlos Perez will take his place in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Iannetta ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return soon. Perez ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is hitting .286 with two home runs and 10 RBI since being recalled and could be a cheaper option to consider on FantasyScore.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim C Chris Iannetta will start behind the plate Saturday, May 16, against the Baltimore Orioles. C Carlos Perez will be given the night off.
Fantasy Tip: Iannetta ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) has just seven hits through 79 plate appearances to begin the season and he has been striking out at a putrid 31.6% clip. Iannetta's lone multi-hit game came April 14, against the Texas Rangers. Perez has all but taken over every-day catcher duties, and Iannetta won't deserve much consideration whenever he draws the start.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim C Carlos Perez has effectively become the team's starting catcher over C Chris Iannetta, although manager Mike Scioscia won't admit it. Perez has started six of the team's last eight games at catcher and has six hits in his first 18 at-bats in the majors. "Any time a player plays well, you're going to earn more playing time," Scioscia said. "That's what Carlos has shown."
Fantasy Tip: With Iannetta ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) hitting an embarrassing .101 (7-for-69) with 25 strikeouts, Perez ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) should continue to see the majority of starts behind the dish. However, don't let the quick start to Perez's major league career fool you into thinking he's anything more than a low-end catcher matchup play at FantasyScore.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim C Carlos Perez started for the second straight night Wednesday, May 6. If Perez plays again Thursday, May 7, he has become the team's No. 1 catcher over C Chris Iannetta, in the opinion of The Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher. "We're going to need them both, so whatever it turns out to be, it turns out to be," manager Mike Scioscia said. "Obviously when a guy plays well, you can earn more playing time."
Fantasy Tip: Perez hit .361 in 17 games at Class AAA this season and would become a matchup play on FantasyScore if he earns even a 50-50 split.
