Brewers | Ryan Braun, Aaron Hill resting

Tue, 03 May 2016 14:57:19 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun and 3B Aaron Hill are not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 3. OF Ramon Flores is starting in left field and hitting seventh, while 3B Colin Walsh is starting at the hot corner and batting sixth against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Nick Tropeano.

Fantasy Tip: Flores and Walsh don't even scratch the surface in terms of fantasy value, so they're both lotto tickets as deep daily sleepers. A weakened Brewers lineup means selecting Tropeano as your second fantasy starter in DFS action is a good strategy.

Brewers | Jonathan Lucroy, Ramon Flores out Sunday

Sun, 01 May 2016 07:39:57 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy and OF Ramon Flores are not in the starting lineup against Miami Marlins SP Tom Koehler Sunday, May 1. C Martin Maldonado will start behind the plate and bat eighth, while OF Kirk Niewenhuis plays center field and bats fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Maldonado is hitless through his first 14 at-bats, so he can be ignored from a fantasy standpoint. On the other hand, Nieuwenhuis has three extra-base hits and seven RBI through 34 at-bats and is positioned in a favorable spot in the batting order, so he's worth considering as a value play in daily fantasy games.

Brewers | Ryan Braun out of Tuesday lineup

Tue, 26 Apr 2016 13:47:28 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, April 26, against the Chicago Cubs. OF Ramon Flores is batting seventh in Braun's place against Cubs SP Kyle Hendricks.

Fantasy Tip: This just appears to be a normal night off for Braun, so there is no reason to panic. Simply rest Braun in daily leagues and substitute someone else. Flores has a .133 average in the past week, so he has no fantasy value.

Brewers | Ramon Flores on the bench

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 10:05:37 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ramon Flores is not in the starting lineup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Jerad Eickhoff Sunday, April 24. OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis will start in center field and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Nieuwenhuis has two hits and three RBI over his last six games, but owners should be able to find better players to use in their starting lineups.

Brewers | Two Brewers sit out

Tue, 19 Apr 2016 07:57:11 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Domingo Santana and 3B Aaron Hill are out of the lineup Tuesday, April 19. 3B Colin Walsh is leading off, and OF Ramon Flores is hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Walsh is 0-for-10 on the season and isn't worth the flyer against Ervin Santana. Flores is hitting just .130 and isn't worth the start, either.

Brewers | Kirk Nieuwenhuis in starting lineup

Mon, 18 Apr 2016 14:00:29 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis will start in center field against Minnesota Twins SP Phil Hughes Monday, April 18. OF Ramon Flores will start in left field, while OF Ryan Braun will serve as the designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Nieuwenhuis has recorded three RBI in his last two games but has only three hits this season. Owners probably can avoid Nieuwenhuis since there will be better candidates to use in their lineups.

Brewers | Ryan Braun receiving day off Sunday

Sun, 17 Apr 2016 08:29:05 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ryan Braun is not in the starting lineup against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Juan Nicasio Sunday, April 17. OF Ramon Flores will play left field and bat fifth, while OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis will start in center field and bat seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Braun is being given the day off, so he should be removed from all fantasy lineups. The 32-year-old slugger has three home runs and eight RBI through his first 11 games. Flores and Nieuwenhuis should be viewed as nothing more than inexpensive fliers for daily leagues.

Brewers | Ramon Flores starting in center

Tue, 05 Apr 2016 13:26:18 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Ramon Flores will start in center field and hit sixth against San Francisco Giants SP Johnny Cueto Tuesday, April 5. OF Keon Broxton takes a seat on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Broxton went hitless in his debut on opening day, but he remains the more attractive fantasy asset in cavernous mixed and NL-only formats. Flores has just 35 career plate appearances with no home runs and a .206 average, so he can be ignored everywhere.

Mariners | Dustin Ackley sent to NY

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 14:03:07 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Dustin Ackley was traded to the New York Yankees Thursday, July 30, in exchange for OF Ramon Flores and SP Jose A. Ramirez.

Fantasy Tip: The trade of Ackley to New York doesn't really have earth-shattering consequences in Seattle, but it does solidify the fantasy value of Franklin Gutierrez ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) and Seth Smith ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) in much deeper leagues.

Yankees | Dustin Ackley acquired by Yanks

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 13:40:16 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Dustin Ackley was acquired by the New York Yankees Thursday, July 30, in exchange for OF Ramon Flores and SP Jose A. Ramirez.

Fantasy Tip: With Stephen Drew not cutting it at the keystone, Ackley ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) could immediately become the team's starting second baseman. Ackley didn't fare much better with Seattle (.215/.270/.366 with six home runs in 186 at-bats), but this trade could give him everyday playing time, and the move to a short porch in right field in the Bronx means his fantasy value is on the rise.
