This system could help him take another step forward, but with the expected erratic performance under center -- whether it be Brandon Weeden, Jason Campbell or Brian Hoyer -- Gordon can only be trusted as a fantasy WR3, more so in non-PPRs.

The quarterback received a second-round tender, meaning Hoyer's new club would have to surrender a second-round pick to sign him. The Browns used their second-round pick for 2013 on WR Josh Gordon in the supplemental draft last year.

Lombardi has been critical of both players on NFL Network. Lombardi said he will watch plenty of film on both players and also watch two days of practice from 2012 before making an evaluation on the players. Lombardi also told Gordon he has nothing to worry about.
