Rays | Asdrubal Cabrera coming off DL

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 20:17:42 -0700

The Tampa Bay Rays will activate 2B Asdrubal Cabrera (hamstring) from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, July 28. 2B Jake Elmore has been optioned to Triple-A Durham.

Fantasy Tip: Cabrera ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) should be given a couple of games to knock off the rust before trusting him again in FantasyScore.

Rays | Logan Forsythe will not start

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 12:37:55 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe is not in the starting lineup against Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman Friday, July 24. OF Jake Elmore will start in second base and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return soon. Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is hitting only .100 this month and probably should be passed over by owners on FantasyScore.

Rays | Tim Beckham starting at short

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 07:41:05 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays SS Tim Beckham is starting at shortstop and hitting seventh in the order Sunday, July 19, against the Toronto Blue Jays and RHP Marco Estrada. OF Jake Elmore comes out of the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitting just .188 against righties this season, and he should be left alone on FantasyScore.

Rays | Jake Elmore not starting

Sat, 18 Jul 2015 07:29:05 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF Jake Elmore is not in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP R.A. Dickey Saturday, July 18. SS Tim Beckham will start at shortstop and is batting eighth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) probably will return to the lineup in the near future. Beckham ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has not played since returning to the team, and owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options to use.

Rays | Jake Elmore at SS Friday

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 13:34:41 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Jake Elmore is starting at shortstop and hitting seventh against Toronto Blue Jays SP Drew Hutchison Friday, July 17.

Fantasy Tip: Tim Beckham and Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) are forming some sort of platoon with Asdrubal Cabrera on the DL for the time being. It's unclear who has the upper hand on playing time, though, since both are righty sticks. Elmore (.213-2-16) isn't a strong FantasyScore option, though, especially going against Hutchison, who has been much better at home this year.

Rays | Jake Elmore, Tim Beckham to form platoon

Thu, 16 Jul 2015 16:42:43 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays OF Jake Elmore and 2B Tim Beckham will comprise a platoon at shortstop based on the opposing pitching matchups from here on out, according to manager Kevin Cash.

Fantasy Tip: Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is hitting .213/.272/.303 with two home runs and 16 RBI in 44 games. Beckham ($1,800, 3.6% of cap), meanwhile, has a .213/.267/.426 slash line with five home runs and 16 RBI in 37 games. Both are right-handed hitters, so there's no clear platoon advantage, but both infielders can safely be avoided in all but the deepest of fantasy formats and will remain low-end daily plays.

Rays | Jake Elmore starting at shortstop

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 08:24:35 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays SS Jake Elmore is starting at shortstop and batting seventh against Houston Astros SP Lance McCullers Sunday, July 12.

Fantasy Tip: Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has a .210/.271/.303 slash line this season and is riding a 2-for-39 skid. FantasyScore players should aim higher. He is filling in for Asdrubal Cabrera (hamstring) who was placed on the disabled list Sunday, but the Rays also recalled Tim Beckham. Beckham will likely receive the majority of starts at shortstop over Elmore.

Rays | Jake Elmore playing left field

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 11:31:24 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays INF/OF Jake Elmore is batting eighth and playing left field against Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel Saturday, July 11. OF David DeJesus is receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is hitless in three career at-bats against Keuchel and only has one hit in his last 19 at-bats entering the game. Avoid using him today in FantasyScore.

Rays | Asdrubal Cabrera out of lineup

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 08:40:15 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays SS Asdrubal Cabrera is out of the lineup in Game 1 of a doubleheader Tuesday, July 7, in favor of SS Jake Elmore.

Fantasy Tip: Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has a solid matchup against Chris R. Young, but Elmore's .217-2-15 line doesn't give much FantasyScore promise.

Rays | Evan Longoria will be DH

Sun, 05 Jul 2015 09:11:23 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays 3B Evan Longoria will serve as the designated hitter against New York Yankees SP Ivan Nova Sunday, July 5, and is batting third in the lineup. OF Jake Elmore will start at third base and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Longoria ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is receiving a day off from the field but is still in the lineup and could be a starting option for owners on FantasyScore. Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has recorded only one hit in his last nine games and probably should be avoided on FantasyScore.
