Mon, 29 Apr 2013 12:40:51 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig (thumb) will be activated from the seven-day disabled list in the minor leagues Monday, April 29.
Sun, 28 Apr 2013 14:04:39 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers minor league OF Yasiel Puig was arrested in Tennessee for speeding and reckless driving. General manager Ned Colletti said the organization will be "handling discipline internally."
Sat, 20 Apr 2013 17:39:25 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig (thumb) was placed on the minor league's seven-day disabled list Saturday, April 20, due to a sprained left thumb. Fantasy Tip: Puig is hitting .333 with three homers and nine RBI in 13 games over 48 at-bats for Double-A Chattanooga. Impatient fans in Los Angeles have been clamoring for him, so this should quiet that chatter for a while. He is a great looking prospect in long-term keeper formats, and worth stashing if you have ample roster space and patience in NL-only formats.
Tue, 26 Mar 2013 14:40:38 -0700 The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned SS Dee Gordon to Triple-A Albuquerque and OF Yasiel Puig to Double-A Chattanooga Tuesday, March 26. Fantasy Tip: Puig was expected to begin in the minors this year, but he might be in consideration for a full-time job in the outfield next season. Gordon's demotion means Luis Cruz will open at shortstop. Some combination of Juan Uribe, Jerry Hairston Jr. and Nick Punto will rotate at third base. Uribe is expected to get the most PT, so he is worth a desperation addition in NL-only leagues.
Tue, 26 Mar 2013 13:11:49 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig is expected to be sent down because he won't earn enough playing time in the outfield on the major league roster. The team can also delay his free agency clock if they start him down on the farm. Puig is hitting .527 this spring, and manager Don Mattingly has hinted that he could make the opening day roster. Fantasy Tip: Puig's inclusion on the roster would probably be directly tied to the fact that the team wants insurance for Carl Crawford (elbow) in the outfield. Don't expect Puig to be on roster, though, but he will probably be in the bigs at some point this season. Consider him in keeper leagues and NL-only formats.
Fri, 22 Mar 2013 15:01:21 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig is fine after having the wind knocked out of him Friday, March 22.
Fri, 22 Mar 2013 14:36:10 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig (side) was injured and left the game Friday, March 22, diving for a ball in the outfield. He was holding his left lower side under his rib cage. Fantasy Tip: Puig was impressing the coaching staff this spring and was under consideration to crack the 25-man roster, likely as insurance for Carl Crawford (elbow). However, if his injury is even remotely significant, expect him to start in the minors. He's a decent keeper league target entering the season.
Tue, 19 Mar 2013 16:54:09 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers OF Yasiel Puig had four hits, including his third spring homer, Tuesday, March 19. He is expected to start the season with Double-A Chattanooga. Fantasy Tip: Puig is showing why the Dodgers made a $42 million investment in him after defecting from Cuba. He has displayed all the tools to suggest he could be an elite and productive outfielder in the long term. Keeper leaguers need to have this name written down. He could force his way onto the scene for good next season.
Thu, 14 Mar 2013 13:59:47 -0700 Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said OF Yasiel Puig won't be ready to open the year on the roster. "No, it's not the best thing for him," Mattingly said. "He won't want to hear that. He's been good, but we've seen a lot of things that tell us he's still young and needs work. The guys tell you when they're ready. When he's ready, he'll tear it up (in the minors) If he doesn't, he's not quite ready." Puig is hitting .424 and has 10 strikeouts and no walks in 33 at-bats.
Fri, 04 Jan 2013 18:09:48 -0800 The Los Angeles Dodgers officially announced the names of their minor leaguers invited to next week's winter camp. While OF Yasiel Puig will not be in attendance, Ps Zach Lee, Chris Reed and Chris Withrow will be there, as well as the team's 2012 minor league player of the year, OF Joc Pederson.
