Dodgers | Jose Fernandez still a target for Dodgers

Wed, 16 Dec 2015 13:03:20 -0800

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Dodgers SP Frankie Montas and 2B Micah Johnson are expected to be included in a trade package to acquire Miami Marlins SP Jose Fernandez.

Fantasy Tip: The Marlins are said to be looking for a huge stable of prospects in exchange for their ace starter. Stay tuned for updates, but a move to a more competitive club would be a boon for Fernandez's fantasy value. Regardless of location, he is a No. 1 arm for your virtual rotation and should be targeted in the early rounds of drafts this spring.

Dodgers | Two more prospects to Dodgers

Wed, 16 Dec 2015 09:36:44 -0800

Chicago White Sox 2B Micah Johnson and White Sox OF Trayce Thompson were acquired by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the deal involving Cincinnati Reds 3B Todd Frazier Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson hit .315-8-36 with 28 steals at Class AAA last year. With Chase Utley aging, Johnson could have a role at some point this year. Thompson had a .260-13-39 line at Class AAA before a .295-5-16 cup of coffee in 122 at-bats with the White Sox. The Dodgers' outfield situation is cluttered right now, and he doesn't have an opening right now.

White Sox | Micah Johnson bothered by knee

Fri, 25 Sep 2015 19:22:09 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Micah Johnson (knee) has been out of the starting lineup for four consecutive days due to nagging discomfort in his knee, according to manager Robin Ventura.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is just 3-for-26 since being recalled from the minors earlier this month. FantasyScore owners should avoid using him even when completely healthy.

White Sox | Micah Johnson playing second base

Sat, 19 Sep 2015 12:19:26 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Micah Johnson will bat ninth against Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco Saturday, Sept. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is just 2-for-18 with a pair of doubles since being recalled from the minors last week. He is not a great FantasyScore option today.

White Sox | Micah Johnson sent down

Thu, 14 May 2015 10:16:04 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Micah Johnson was sent to Class AAA Charlotte (N.C.) Thursday, May 14, and 2B Carlos Sanchez is expected to be promoted to the majors.

Fantasy Tip: Sanchez was hitting .344 (45-for-131) with two home runs, 17 RBI and five stolen bases for Charlotte this year in the minors. He's not much of a power threat, but he has 20-stolen base potential over a full season. AL-only managers should take notice immediately and add him if they are in need of a middle infielder. At FantasyScore, Sanchez will open as a cheap second base option that could be an excellent value play if he gets off to a good start. Take a wait-and-see approach for now.

White Sox | Micah Johnson not in the lineup

Sun, 10 May 2015 10:02:43 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Micah Johnson is not in the starting lineup Sunday, May 10.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return soon. Emilio Bonifacio ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) will start at second base but is not a great option on FantasyScore.

White Sox | Micah Johnson leading off vs. Twins

Fri, 01 May 2015 14:04:08 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Micah Johnson is hitting in the leadoff spot against Minnesota Twins SP Kyle Gibson Friday, May 1.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is likely only in the leadoff spot with Adam Eaton taking the day off. Don't take the temporary move for granted at FantasyScore, though. Johnson isn't setting the world on fire at .271 (13-for-48), but he gains value in daily games at the top of the order. Consider him a low-priced value play tonight.

White Sox | Micah Johnson not playing

Fri, 17 Apr 2015 10:21:58 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Micah Johnson has the day off Friday, April 17. 2B Emilio Bonifacio is starting at second base and hitting ninth in the batting order against Detroit Tigers SP David Price.

Fantasy Tip: Bonifacio ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is a bit too expensive for our taste at FantasyScore, especially since he has just four at-bats this season and will be hitting out of the nine hole against Price.

White Sox | Micah Johnson out vs. Indians

Tue, 14 Apr 2015 13:35:30 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Micah Johnson is out of the regular lineup Tuesday, April 14, against the Cleveland Indians.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is getting a night off against Indians SP Carlos Carrasco. Emilio Bonifacio ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is in the lineup and is a source of steals if he can get on, but he is not a recommended option. Other 2B like Toronto's Devon Travis ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) and Kansas City's Omar Infante ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) may be better.

White Sox | Micah Johnson out vs. Royals

Wed, 08 Apr 2015 14:04:12 -0700

Chicago White Sox 2B Micah Johnson is not in the starting lineup against the Kansas City Royals Wednesday, April 8. 2B Carlos Sanchez is starting at the keystone and batting ninth in Johnson's absence.

Fantasy Tip: This has the potential to be a platoon situation, which would severely hinder Johnson's ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) seasonal value. However, any boost you receive from Johnson outside of stolen bases should really be consider a bonus. With so many games on the docket Wednesday, FantasyScore players should aim higher than Sanchez ($2,000, 4.0% of cap).
