Brett Borden, of Panthers.com, reports Carolina Panthers QB Chris Weinke is battling veteran QB Rodney Peete for the second-string quarterback position this year and his focus is strictly on the team's best interests. "My approach isn't going to change," said Weinke. "I'm going to continue to work hard and try to improve every day. In whatever capacity I am needed on this football team, I'll do what they need me to do. I'm here to try and help this team get better in any way that I can."

Panthers.com reports Carolina Panthers QB Jake Delhomme's 106.1 passer rating in the 2003 postseason was the highest for a quarterback making his first playoff appearance since 1985. However, he doesn't hold the highest career postseason rating on the team. QB Rodney Peete's career postseason passer rating is 124.2, earned in one game with the Dallas Cowboys and two with the Philadelphia Eagles.
