Angels | Mike Trout sitting out

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 14:08:16 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (wrist) is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, July 28, due to a sore left wrist after he dove for a ball Sunday, July 26. Trout later hit a grand slam in that game Sunday, but his wrist was too sore to play against the Houston Astros Tuesday. OF Daniel Robertson is starting in center field Tuesday.

Fantasy Tip: Trout's injury isn't believed to be very serious, but keep an eye on his condition heading into Wednesday. Robertson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has hit .290 (20-for-69) for the Angels in a small sample size. He's more of a low-end option for salary cap relief in daily lineups.

Angels | Matt Joyce will not start

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 15:03:21 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Matt Joyce is not in the starting lineup against Texas Rangers SP Colby Lewis Friday, July 24. OF Daniel Robertson will start in left field and is batting ninth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Joyce ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return to the lineup soon. Robertson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is hitting .289 this month with three RBI during that span and could be a cheaper option for owners to consider.

Angels | Collin Cowgill takes dry swings

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 19:17:33 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Collin Cowgill (wrist) took dry swings Tuesday, July 21, and he is expected to hit off a tee Wednesday, July 22. The team is being cautious with Cowgill, who is expected to supplant OF Daniel Robertson as the fourth outfielder upon return.

Fantasy Tip: Cowgill ($2,100; or 4.2% of cap) is a decent low-end FantasyScore option when he is in the starting lineup and facing a favorable matchup, as his inclusion will save you plenty of salary to allocate elsewhere.

Angels | Mike Trout nursing sore heel

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 15:31:41 -0700

Updating a previous story, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout (heel) is out Tuesday, July 21, due to a sore left heel, and he is considered day-to-day. OF Daniel Robertson will start in center field and bat ninth in the order against the Minnesota Twins and RHP Kyle Gibson.

Fantasy Tip: Robertson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has gone 2-for-8 with a single and a double in his last two starts. He should be viewed as a low-floor, low-ceiling option on FantasyScore.

Angels | Matt Joyce sitting out

Mon, 20 Jul 2015 11:46:58 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Matt Joyce is not in the starting lineup against Boston Red Sox SP Eduardo Rodriguez in the first game of a doubleheader Monday, July 20. OF Daniel Robertson will start in left field and is batting ninth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Joyce ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is out of the lineup since the team if facing a left-handed pitcher. Robertson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has posted a solid .261 batting average this month but has only one RBI during that span, and owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options.

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 12:31:37 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Daniel Robertson is batting ninth and starting in left field against Boston Red Sox SP Eduardo Rodriguez Sunday, July 19.

Fantasy Tip: Robertson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is batting .323 in night games this year but his other stats are underwhelming. Look elsewhere for inexpensive outfield options in FantasyScore.

Angels | Daniel Robertson starting Friday

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 17:04:31 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Daniel Robertson will bat ninth and start in left field against Boston Red Sox SP Wade Miley Friday, July 17. OF Matt Joyce is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Robertson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is batting .300 (6-for-20) during the month of July but he only has three RBIs in 44 at-bats. Avoid using him in FantasyScore unless you're in desperate need of salary cap relief.

Angels | No Matt Joyce Friday

Fri, 10 Jul 2015 14:48:36 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Matt Joyce is out of the lineup against Seattle Mariners SP Mike Montgomery Friday, July 10. OF Daniel Robertson is starting in left field and hitting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Robertson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) does have 11 hits in 37 at-bats (.297) this year, but he has no home runs and only two RBI. He already has a limited offensive ceiling, and hitting ninth against the hot Montgomery tells you to avoid him on FantasyScore.

Angels | Daniel Robertson starting vs. Rockies

Wed, 08 Jul 2015 15:41:50 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Daniel Robertson is starting in left field and batting eighth against Colorado Rockies SP Chris Rusin Wednesday, July 8. OF Matt Joyce is not in the starting lineup Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Robertson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is a sneaky source of upside for FantasyScore players Wednesday. He owns the handedness advantage against Rusin and is cheap. Plus, the game is at the launching pad known as Coors Field.

Angels | Daniel Robertson starting Saturday

Sat, 04 Jul 2015 15:04:19 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Daniel Robertson is starting in left field and hitting ninth in the order Saturday, July 4, against the Texas Rangers and LHP Wandy Rodriguez. OF Matt Joyce comes out of the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Robertson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) doesn't have a single extra-base hit in 31 plate appearances at the major league level this season, and he doesn't offer any upside while batting ninth.
