Texas Rangers SP Tanner Scheppers, tabbed as the team's opening day starter, will work just one inning in his final spring tune-up Thursday, March 27, against Quintana Roo of the Mexican League in an exhibition game in Arlington. Ps Pedro Figueroa, Justin Germano, Martin Perez and Shawn Tolleson are also expected to pitch.

The Texas Rangers are starting to finalize their bullpen. RPs Joakim Soria will serve as the closer, with RPs Neal Cotts, Pedro Figueroa, Jason Frasor and Alexi Ogando joining him. That leaves two spots open, and Ps Ryan Feierabend, Michael Kirkman, Daniel McCutchen, Seth Rosin and Shawn Tolleson battling down to the end of camp.

Texas Rangers RP Shawn Tolleson (shoulder) was able to throw a scoreless inning in the intrasquad game Monday, Feb. 24. He had been dealing with some minor soreness in his right shoulder.

Texas Rangers RP Shawn Tolleson relied exclusively on a fastball and slider in 2012 with the Los Angeles Dodgers when he had some success. The team has discovered he has a very good changeup, and they want him to include it in his repertoire.

Texas Rangers RPs Ben Rowen (biceps) and Shawn Tolleson (ankle) are both scheduled to visit team physician Dr. Keith Meister this week. Rowen has been bothered by biceps tendinitis, while Tolleson is listed as day-to-day because of a sprained left ankle.

The Texas Rangers claimed RP Shawn Tolleson off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday, Nov. 20. Tolleson went 3-1 with a 4.30 ERA in 41 relief outings (37 2/3 innings) in the last two years with the Dodgers.
